THINGS I NEED -canon solangelo -percy and sally reunion -MORE PERCABETH -percy and grover reunion -resolve to the reyna thing THINGS I DID NOT GET -all of the above
+LexiK24513 I know! like, your best friend is right there! go say hello or something! hug him, do anything, you haven't seen him in almost a YEAR! Solangelo shouldve gotten canon, but I think I'm not as mad at that as that PERCY DIDN'T SEE HIS MOTHER! I mean, THAT WOULD'VE BEEN ON TOP OF HE LIST : TO SEE MOM AFTER SAVING THE WHOLE GODDAMN WORLD
+Katie Blain I read about that. I heard that Apollo is going to be turned mortal by Zeus.... Which I question. I question all of Riordan's mythological deviations and choices, but I usually accept them. Should be interesting though.
And you just know that Percy's still going to be stuck on that weeks later, just like how he couldn't get over when Aphros and Byros didn't want to meet him because of complicated underwater politics. Like, he'll be in the middle of class and just turn to Annabeth and be like "Not his type?".
Maeve Howard He's probably still working out that Nico is gay. He was so confused when Nico told him!! And to be honest, I think he will originally think "why does EVERYONE have a crush on me?!?! Rachel, Calypso, Reyna, that random Amazon that tried to get me to be her slave, and now NICO? I'M NOT EVEN THAT LIKABLE! IM SO STUPID YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! ANNABETH!!! WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE ME? I don't get it" and she'll just shake her head and be like "Seaweed Brain"
I REALLY wanted a Percy chapter because Percy hasn't seen Chiron, camp, his parents, Tyson, OR BASICALLY ANYONE since Hera/Juno erased his memory so I was really hoping to see some sort of reunion because HE WAS MISSING FOR SOOOOO LONG!!!! But I guess it's just me and my feelings *cries in corner*
I was so disappointed at the Blood of Olympus. The Lost Hero and Son of Neptune were buildups, introducing characters and such. The Mark of Athena and House of Hades were AMAZING, and they seemed to build up to the Blood of Olympus, which was.... *farts*
My friend and I: HUGE PJO FANS. Neither one of us could bring ourselves to read that book. I didn't read that book, I didn't want to be disappointed. It's just Jason Jason Jason blah blah blah. Like....where is PERCY? Percy was like, the main person I wanted to see and it didn't even have his pic or annabeth and ugh so mad I can't even read that book. And I dont even like Jason no offense. I think Rick really likes Jason and I'm just like bleh Jason. And Jason is basically just like Roman Percy and ugh. I want to read it but I'm fine where I ended off. I probably will never read it.
We should start a petition: Rick Riordan needs to write a book of short stories tying up all of his loose ends! I don't know if Reyna will ever find love, but neither does she seem to need it as much anymore. Percy and Annabeth (preferably with a lot of their friends) should go to his apartment to see his parents. We should see what Annabeth and her mom talked about, and Percy and his dad. What did Calypso do upon entering camp? Seeing Percy? Meeting Annabeth?
Can Rick Riordan justify sending Octavian to the Fields of Asphodel, or will he obviously go to the Fields of Punishment? They also need to analyze each component of the prophesy and how it came together, like they ALWAYS DID.
I don't know why the fans like Calypso now I liked her before but after reading the bit where she cursed Percy in house of hades I hate her now and I want Leo to be like all sass and break up with her when he finds out
I found it kind of anti-climatic. The end of the Percy Jackson series had this extravagant, emotional scene with Luke, but I did not get that feeling with Leo killing Gaea and then dying, but not really dying. Also, I did expect Percy to have to make this big decision that would show a big overcoming of his fatal flaw, but that did not really happen. Overall, there were some magical moments in the book and some great character development. It just felt a little unresolved, and like I said, it felt anti-climatic.
I feel like the book needed so many more chapters to resolve everything and that would've been fine.. I would've read a longer book. I'VE READ 10 OF YOUR BOOKS READ A COUPLE HUNDRED PAGES MORE WOULDN'T HAVE STOPPED ME!!!
I agree 100 percent. I could read a who le book with just 2 characters as long as those characters are Percy and Annabeth. I'm mad because the book ended with freakin Leo soaring into the sky with Calypso and then BOOM ended just like that. I SWEAR IF I DONT SEE AT LEAST ANNABETH IN THE NEXT BOOK SERIES IM GONNA LOSE IT.
I agree completely. I would read a whole book with just 2 characters as long as those characters are Percy and Annabeth. WHY DID IT END LIKE THAT!!! It was just freakin Leo soaring into the sky with Calypso. I SWEAR IF I DONT AT LEAST SEE ANNABETH IN THE NEXT BOOK SERIES IM GONNA LOSE IT
the thing that pissed me off the most was that through the WHOOOOLE story, most every adversary percy had was all "oh your loyalty will be your downfall percy" AND THAT'S IT. NOTHING HAPPENED. PERCY DIDNT DO ANYTHING AND OH MY GOD EVERYTHING WAS MISSING AND I FEEL SO EMPTY. T_T Nico Leo and Reyna kept me going to be honest. the only reason i accepted jasons chapters was because he was with the characters i liked.
Such bad resolution for such an amazing author, I am kinda iffy about reading about Magnus Chase because I will probably like him and his story will end just as poorly as this one and I don't think I'm up for it to be honest. Do you know if the Kane Chronicles are the same?
ArteryVeinn Hey, give him a shot! The Last Olympian wrapped things up PERFECTLY. I have faith in Rick. This one was probably harder because he was dealing with _so_ many character, some of whom were already in the PJO series, so it was hard to wrap things up twice for them.
ArteryVeinn Rick Riordan is a fantastic author, however the ending of BoO was a bit meh. There was just no resolution, and it was too much of a cliff hanger for the last book. I love his writing just I wanted more from the ending :/
Does it bother anyone else that Jason's new glasses are made from Imperial gold? Fact 1 (Imperial Gold explodes when it's broken) + Fact 2 (Jason is the klutz of the demigod community, as stated in the House of Hades booktalk) + There's a piece of the highly unstable magical metal sitting on the klutz's face = WTF?!
+Brian Sanders They wouldn't do Celestial Bronze because I don't think the Romans would be okay with it. Sure, Jason's kind of in-between the camps, but I do agree with your point about Imperial Gold glasses... Bit weird.
ThoughtsOfALeo Celestial Bronze isn't illegal at Camp Jupiter, just rare. Besides, the bronze is still a better idea than the gold, not just because he lives at Camp Half Blood now, where Celestial Bronze is so common it's practically all over the place.
It is? Oh, huh. I always thought it was a Greek thing that Romans didn't approve of. Yeah, I agree the bronze is a way better idea. Maybe he wanted gold to remind him of his Roman-ness while at Camp Half-Blood?
I loved the part when Nico said to Percy: "You are cute, but not my type!" or when Percy said: "I am a Leo" and Leo was just like "Dont be stupid! I am a Leo you are a Percy!"
The first thing I said when I finished the book was repeatedly yelling "YOU CANT END A BOOK LIKE THAT. YOU CANT END A BOOK LIKE THAT." I was so unsatisfied. after everything Percy and annabeth went through, we don't even get their POV's? I wanted that last chapter with Leo and everybody having a reunion. I shipped calypso and Leo so fricken hard. My favorite point of view in this book was obviously Leo, but overall Percy. my book ratings 1. Son of Neptune 2. House of Hades 3. Mark of Athena 4. The blood of Olympus 5. The lost Hero
KH Gaming It was, but when finishing the son of Neptune I was stunned in this sort of awed silence. I was impressed more immensely by Percy's power and ability more than in any other book he is in. We got a small glimpse into Hazel's past, and a huge into Franks's. We got to learn a lot about them and it was just amazing. I was so impressed when it was finished. The house of Hades of course was brilliant as well, but I loved the son of Neptune just a little bit more.
Percy Jackson Yeah, but I always think it's best to read the books in date order (like read them in the way the first came out) and since Magnus Chase came out before the Trials of Apollo, I would read it first. But you could do what you want, it's just my preference (also I have a feeling that Magnus Chase and The Trials of Apollo are gonna come together like a crossover book, but idk just a theory of mine)
Like i was expecting percy to make some sort of huge sacrifice like maybe he would die to save annabeth and then come back to life with that cure thing or like something more dramatic than just getting a freaking nosebleed and waking up the earth mother lmao like i was expecting "the blood of olympus" to be someone actually DYING.... Like that just makes sense... And the i feel like gaea was also defeated way too easily like she rose for like .5 seconds and then leo brought her into the air and piper charmed her to go back to sleep and she blew up. I mean thats pretty like whoa but i was expecting more of an epic battle like the last olympian anx we didnt really get that or even get a battle seen from percys pov which was honestly just all i wanted like ughh
I agree, and I definitely needed more than two sentences about percy's flaw of being too loyal. like, "JASON BRUH I CAN'T LET YOU DO THIS" "Percy he has to." "OKAY ILL GO FIGHT SOMEWHERE ELSE BYE". But Riordan did say that people were complaining about battle scenes not being detailed enough, but he would rather that than have written lame stuff like "percy swung his sword". I think riordan was just trying to play into the friendships than the action in this book.
Yeah, and i mean im not complaining about the focus on the characters's relationships because im all for that, but just as battles go in this entire series i feel like a LOT of the battles in the other books were more intense and draining than the end battles in this one.... Idk the whole thing just felt too easy and it wasn't what i was expecting. I did enjoy it though.
I agree! The whole book wasn't necessarily bad but the ending just flopped and I was left wondering whether the book really ended. And I expected someone to die too. Like a major character or one of the seven...
So true! I felt like things just sort of fell into place too easily. I was really expecting a death that would make me shut the book and cry for a few, but nope...everybody's Happy!!!
I agree with everything you said. Except for the Nico part. Nico is awesome. He is just so special! And that daddy and son moment at the chapel when Hades was like "I'll be waiting for you no matter what" and when he said that he wishes Nico to be an exception to the "children of Hades aren't happy" rule...That was my favorite moment :)
A few questions for you before I answer your questions, Christine: 1) HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT YOU WENT THIS ENTIRE VIDEO WITHOUT TALKING ABOUT SOLANGELO??? Is it possible that you *gasp* have NOT sold your soul to that ship? 2) Is Jason not redeemed for you, seriously? This book redeemed him entirely for me. He got a little redemption with how he handled Nico's situation in HoH, but I love him SO MUCH now because of this book. And I thought he was absolutely useless in the first three books. I think you might have liked this book more if you were a little more open-minded about him. Now moving on to answer your questions. 1) My favorite POV was Nico's. I've always been a little obsessed with him, and he had so much development that just made me love him even more. Also, solangelo. Also, the Reynico friendship was glorious. 2) I feel satisfied with the resolution, but not in the way they were resolved. I love that Percabeth gets to live happily and normally together, and I love that solangelo is as close to canon as anything, and a frazel wedding was totally foreshadowed (like, way foreshadowed, as in like 10 years foreshadowed, but who cares), and even Jasiper can live happily (both of them kinda redeemed themselves in this book) and start again now that they've stopped being useless. My only issue is the same as yours-- I needed that leo reunion with everyone else. The ending just felt really rushed. I needed more of Leo at the end. (For the record, I don't write fanfic but I'm really tempted to write that missing reunion chapter.) It didn't bother me that nobody died other than Octavian, as I just wanted all of them to be happy, and, you know, not dead. Did I need more percy? Yeah. But I was head over heels in love with everything I got from him. FRAZEL WAS SO USELESS THOUGH AND THAT PISSED ME OFF THEY ACTUALLY DID NOTHING. I think this book was a little more about friendship than romance, so even though I was missing some frazel and a hell of a lot of percabeth, it didn't bother me as much as it clearly bothered you. 3) My favorite part was when Nico came out to Percabeth... both of their reactions were priceless. Percy was hilariously perceptive as a brick, and Annabeth's high five was beautiful. like OHMIGODS YOU HAD A CRUSH ON MY BOYFRIEND I DID TOO NO WAY THIS IS GREAT YOURE MY FAVORITE. 3) My favorite character was, you guessed it, NICO DI FRICKING ANGELO. He was just so perfect. Followed by Leo, because he was hilarious and CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT THE FACT THAT HE LITERALLY BLEW HIMSELF UP TO SAVE THE WORLD AND HIS FRIENDS BUT *PRIMARILY HIS FRIENDS* CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT. 4) This book came in either second or third for me, behind HoH definitely and possibly behind SoN, but I'd need to reread SoN before actually forming an opinion.
I know right Psychotic Fangirls Christine was like "Nico was like a terrifying demon god" and I said, out loud, to myself, "If that is the case then I worship him". I basically sold my soul to solangelo within like 24 hours and I was a die-hard jasico shipper. Basically my OTP is Nico di Angelo and Happiness.
OMG. REYNA CANT FALL IN LOVE WOTHA DEMIGOD, RIGHT? IN THE NEW TRIALS OF APOLLO SERIES, APOLLO WILL BE MORTAL, AND WILL PROBABLY INTERACT WITH REYNA, AS RICK HAS SAID WE WILL SEE OLD CHARACTERS. WHAT IF THEY FALL IN LOVE AND THEN WHEN APOLLO TURNS BACK INTO A GOD THEY WILL BE A THING?!?!
My favorite POV to read was Nico's. You get to see a slight struggle at first because he doesn't like being close to people, and by the end, he was really close to reyna and even allowed jason to hug him. Just so cute. And the thing about will being protective and stuff is super cute.
You speak for all of us. I was so disappointed. The series ended but it wasn't finished!! Where's my Percy/Sally reunion? Where's Mr D? Where's Rachel and Grover? Where's my Percy and Annabeth's POVs? What's up with Frank's wood? What's the end of Reyna's riddle? What'll happen with Nico and Solace? Or Leo and Calypso's (too forced) relationship? THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY QUESTIONS.
I was so enraptured in The Blood Of Olympus I failed to notice there weren't any Percy, Annabeth, Hazel, or Frank Chapters. I absolutely loved the way that things came together but I was also disappointed that there was no resolution for the Reyna love mystery thing. There could have been a little more about Nico and Will too, that would have been nice. Final note, it's Piper, like Viper not Pipper like slipper.....
literally the only thing i think about from this book anymore is solangelo. solangelooooo. but yeah okay i completely forgot about how Athena was mad at Annabeth which is dumb of me because it's kind of the focus of an entire book and I didn't realize how much i craved resolution between them until now. also YES a "leo + calypso uniting with the rest of camp half blood" chapter would have been the best way to end the book. WHY IS RICK RIORDAN SO AGAINST CLOSED ENDINGS? IM SICK OF THIS OPEN ENDING STUFF GODS
I finally figured it out, the reason Percy couldn't be there has nothing to do with his powers and everything to do with Percy's character. If he (spoilers if you haven't finished the last book) were to go and fight Gaea he would've tried to save Leo and by doing so doom the world because without Leo Gaea would've escaped Fetus's grasp and they would've never been able to beat Gaea. Sure Percy has been getting better as far as his Fatal flaw, but after Tartarus he was shown to be back to square one so to speak (he didn't even feel right letting Annabeth go do something for five minutes, ANNABETH of all people, if he didn't trust her with small things without her putting up a fight) there's no way he would've trusted Leo enough to survive blowing up Gaea. He simply didn't have the time to build up that kind of trust the way Jason and Piper did because Percy was needed else where to do other things (Like help free Death). And even then Jason and Piper only really let him because they thought they had the physicians cure and could bring Leo back even if he didn't already think his way out of it. So the only ones who could've known were Frank (who also needed to stay back and trust Leo otherwise he would've gotten in the way) and Hazel (because without her Leo couldn't trick Jason and Piper into thinking they had the cure) and those two have been through enough hardships to learn that sometimes you have to let people go (Just look at their backstories). So really it's brilliant because everyone was able to play their part without acting out of character, the only real issue is that Uncle Rick choose not to spell it out for everyone (and also maybe Octavian, I would've made him a bit more sympathetic if he was going to end up like that) so really Rick knew his characters better than we did... but truth be told I wish I saw Annabeth and Athena at least talk, but talking about emotions isn't really Athena's thing so i guess there wouldn't be much there... I can always imagine it though.
Guys, Rick stated in an interview that the reason he had so much Jason and Piper chapters was BECAUSE they were hated so much. He new that fans thought of them as the anti-Percabeth or whatever, and called them "too perfect". That's why they were the most important characters in BoO. He wanted to show fans that Piper and Jason were NOT perfect, they had flaws, and they were NOT the anti-Percabeth. He even had them help each other! (The Percy/Jason moment in the ocean with Jason helping Percy escape from poison, the Piper/Annabeth scene with Piper helping Annabeth with her fears.) And, just so everyone knows, Piper and Annabeth and Jason and Percy were FRIENDS. They didn't hate each other. Sure, Percy and Jason had some unfriendly moments, but they're bros now. And Piper and Annabeth? They were best friends. So I think that we should stop hating on these two. Yes, I wanted Percy and Annabeth and Frank and Hazel chapters too. But I'm still glad that we got to learn more about these two flawed, imperfect, and amazing characters.
+KingJess 🌞 It only made it worse because he literally put them into Percabeth's place and denote them so Jasper could shine and it was horrible. Percy and Annabeth are two of the most amazing demigods out there, they deserve more. All those scence when Jasper "saved" them annoyed the schist out of me becasue they are stronger than that. They are not just another demigod, they are Percy and Annabeth and I needed their POV so much. Like, the poisen scene, when Percy almost died, is a clue for a suicidal thoughts that we need to confront so badly. And the scene with the facing fear and all that, that Piper was like "yeah, we need to embrace out emotions and by talking in shaky voice I'd make my half-brothers help me" and Annabeth was just like "NO!" and it was shown as if Annabeth was weak and needed saving when she's actually way more strong than Piper and went through so much and she did it by not letting fear control her. This is the girl that stabbed a cyclope in the foot when she was seven. She's fricking awesome and I was just so annoyed.
+איילת שביט that's exactly how i felt. I was just soo annoyed that he made it seem as if Percabeth were weaker than they actually are. And ugh how he made Percy constantly needing be saved pissed me off. Like Percy is way stronger and has gotton through much more difficult things smh
I loved Nico and Reyna. The book was worth it because of them. Leo is lovely. "Fold your wings lady, you are giving me a sunburn" I was in the bus reading the Nike part and I almost died. I crack every time Christine says Peper. Too funny.
*SPOILERS* super spoiler time ... I was super pissed about the final battle and the fact that Percy had little to no involvement in it bc the whole "let's get Gaea off the ground to kill her" has been done before BY PERCY. Back in Battle of the Labyrinth, during the arena fight-to-the-death scene, Percy fights a dude (can't remember his name) who is the son of Poseidon and Gaea. When they first start fighting and Percy stabs the dude, dirt pours out of his wounds instead of blood bc Gaea is protecting him. So Percy is all like, "ok the ground is his safezone, so let's get him off the ground." He lures the dude up to where those chains of skulls or whatever are hanging above the arena (I can't remember exactly how the scene goes) and uses the air to his advantage and the fact that the dude is no longer connected to the ground. Percy kills him in the air. I understand that Leo, Piper, and Jason were the first three in this series, and the whole "storm or fire" thing, but it really bothered me that this wasn't acknowledged or that Percy didn't even have a hand in coming up with the endgame plan when he had basically done the exact same thing two years previously.
EXACTLY. By the bloody angel, JASON IS LIKE, TRAINED FOR A DECADE THING AND STILL NOT AS GOOD AS PERCY, AND PERCY TRAINED FOR FOUR SUMMER, AND ITS ALWAYS JASON! HES EVEN WORSE THAN OCTAVIAN!AT LEAST OCTAVIAN DIDNT WASTE 10 CHAPTERS OF THE BOOK! Im sorry, but seriously! Jason spent half of the six months asleep and unconscious! What the hell did the son of of zeus do? And piper, god, piper, shes so SELFISH. All she cares about is Jason. Oh, leo is almost dead! Everyone is sad! Better go and care about Jason! Percy and annabeth are dying! Lets go and comfort jason! Percy saved Jason's life! Better go and see jason and throw a tantrum! Hercules and Jason! I dont want to leave him! I'm probs going to die but JASON! And she was so useless as well! Dont you go, "Umm, she saved the entire world by talking to Gaea! She slayed a bajillion god!" AND SO COULDVE EVERYONE ELSE! I SWEAR JASPER GETS ME PISSED?My god! unky riiiiccckkkkk!!! make a short story of Percy and anniebae's pov!
I really liked the book. The only thing that bothered me was that there was no reunion with percy and his mom, or grover or chiron or any of his friends from CHB. It would have been nice to have at least one chapter from the other characters pov's but i get why there weren't any from percy or annabeth. I don't know if anyone realized this but when leo, hazel and frank hear Apollo playing his sad music leo says it hurt his feels. HIS FEELS!!!
I personally that, like, Leo died and went with Calypso, but that's it. He can't come back. He was able to be with her, but not with anyone else. Guess No one else thinks that.
Rick did this thing with Blood of Olympus that he couldn't have done in any other book because this one was convenient. You start reading the beginning, and you get pretty interested. Then, when your on the edge of your seat, they introduce the whole Nico Reyna chapters, and your like "Dang it, I want to keep reading the other chapters! Oh well...it can't be that bad" So you read the Nico Reyna chapters, and now your really exited and you turn the next page waiting for what's going to happen next and BOOM. You're back with The Seven. You get really frustrated, but then you're glad because you used to be on the edge of your seat for this, so you read the chapters eagerly, and you get to a really intense part. You turn the page, and BOOM, you're at a Nico Reyna chapter. You get frustrated, then happy because you were waiting to see what happened. So you keep reading, and BOOM. Right before the best part, you go back to one of The Seven's chapters. And it just goes on and on from there, repeating that cycle.
there was so much left unresolved. I really wish we could have more books with these characters because I love them so much, especially Leo!! I started Trials of Apollo today and it's funny reading from his pov, but I just can't imagine it'll sustain me. I also really really want more Nico, he was JUST starting to open up to people!!
Just to start, I am not hating on jason and piper. I do admit they are not my favourite characters, but I do respect their characters and development. Now I was annoyed by the absence of annabeth and percy and frank and hazel POVs, not because i dont like Jasper, but because I needed some real sort of closure on the characters. Even just one or two chapters with one or two of them would have made me happy. Now, the battle. I feel that it was sort of anticlimatic. I mean Gaia is supposed to be the EARTH and unbeatable but like only a small fraction of the book was the battle. I wanted the seven to work together to bring gaia down, but it only took charmspeak... Quite disappointed with these aspects and I give this book a 6/10. Okay rant over
It was sooo much anticipation about the war with Gaia, and it kinda just happened in about 3-4 chapters..*facepalm* And the description on the back, the blurb, says "The greatest sacrifice EVER" And I am just here like BISH-WHAT?
Can anyone tell me what Percy's little prophecy thing was talking about? (you will face a sacrifice that you may not be able to make and it will cost you the world) Because he didn't make any sacrifices in the end and I was stressing about it through the whole book
For the Reyna thing, I kind of interpreted it as she (Reyna) herself has to be the one to heal her heart and make it whole, not anyone else. And THEN when the time is right, and when her heart is finally whole again, can she find love. Because really, how can you give your heart to someone when it's still in pieces? My favourite part is definitely the Percabeth moment before they go into battle. SO MANY FEELS!!!! And I cried so hard when it was Nico's POV and it was during the campfire and Reyna pulled Nico out of the shadows and into the light and hugged him while saying to the campers "you no longer have one home, but two." It was just SO... I'm just so happy for Nico.
You literally read my mind!! Everything you said was so true....I was just so upset about not hearing from Percy or Annabeth....I DID NOT KNOW THAT THE HOUSE OF HADES WAS GOODBYE!!
For the most part, I really enjoyed the book, but I do agree there should've been Percy & Annabeth and Frank & Hazel POV chapters. Also what's with the hate on Jason? I think he's a pretty good character.
he's uber powerful but he's knocked out more times than piper, he's written as a golden boy but he doesn't show any of the Roman qualities he's supposed to have and further more he talked his way out of his former feelings for Reyna to justify his feelings for Piper, and we never truly got personality from him, he felt like a grown up version of Nico/Percy, feeling alone, resenting your father and wanting to make him proud even if he was a scumbag, and more than anything its how Jason never truly appreciated Hera or even accepted his mother, he went on what Thalia told him to cloud his memory of his mother, thus taking all the powerful women out of his life and trying to gain the recognition of an absentee dad who only really shows annoyance for his children.
Through out all of The Lost hero, and the next four books, we're TOLD Jason's this fantastic hero, but I don't think he ever really earns it. In PJO no one tells us Percy's a great hero-we see it happen. Same thing with Leo and (in HOO), Frank. I went through all of The Lost Hero waiting for Jason to wow me, because he's just such an awesome dude, and it never happened. Leo's the only thing that got me through that book.
That's some interesting responses, but for me, personally, I had no problem with Jason, because to me he filled his role/purpose in the series, he didn't seem too cocky or offensive or a show-off. Sure, he's not as great as Percy, but nobody's perfect, right?(and yeah, I know he's a fictional character and all)
I'm trying to eat fruit while listening to this, I can't, I'm laughing too hard. You are totally voicing my thoughts, maybe a bit more enthusiastically, but you are basically voicing my thoughts exactly. I was really disappointed that there was no Percy and Annabeth POV, (heavy Percabeth shipper here), and yeah I agree, all of the deep, loving moments aren't from the people who are actually experiencing them. Like really? Best Percabeth moment in the *entire* book and you see it from Piper's POV? i mean, it was sweet and all, but it could have been so much more powerful if it was written from Percy's POV talking about how he doesn't want to lose Annabeth or Annabeth's POV thinking the same about Percy. Also, is it not pronounced P-I-per? As in, "pipe" and then "er"? Not judging you or anything, I just want to make sure I'm pronouncing my favorite book characters' names correctly. Edit: I watched some of your older videos, and yeah, it is pronounced "pipe" and then "er" but you just prefer to pronounce it "pip" and then "er". I get it
I had the exact same reaction. Like, seriously. While I was watching this, I was eating something too. Obviously, that backfired. Almost choked cause I was laughing so hard xD
Hey Christine! I've read the Heroes of Olympus series about four times, and each time I come out of it with more writing gems. It's been a while since I did a reread because I'm so busy reading new books, and listening to your booktalks are allowing me to revisit the series without investing as much time as a full reread would. I thank you once for every time Jason passed out (uncountable).
It really sucks that we hadn't a Percy or Annabeth pov and there were almost none percabeth moments but i liked Jason a lot more in this book ( he didn't get uncounsious in a fight ) i really like Reyna and Nico like a brother/sister relationship and in the end that Nico just said Percy that he had a crush on him that Percy just was so surprised
Nico just makes me so happy. When he confronted Percy and raised heck on that one dude I realized that he really cared for his friends and that he's actually a hilarious dude. I never paid much attention to Nico but now I think he's amazing.
I didn't like the "Greeks lets.... ummmm...... Fight stuff!!!!!!" line because it just wasn't Percy. Think back to the Last Olympian, Percy was an inspirational leader and gave at least 2 pretty decent speeches/orders ...... even in the Son of Neptune I'm pretty sure he was decent at giving orders, so what happened in 3 books???
Completely agree. Actually, without seeing things from Percy's POV, just about every time we see him he seems out of character. I did like the book overall, but didn't really agree with the treatment of Percy's character.
Kimi Galgana I suppose, but it shouldn't have really made him less serious and more jokey. The only plausible explanation that I've heard in regards to this is that it's a coping mechanism, but even then Percy has been known to change drastically in a battle situation, and I feel that would have overridden it.... I dunno, Percy and Annabeth were often portrayed as burdens in this book.
I like to think of this part like Percy was astounded at how Reyna was powerfully giving orders and whatever he said will never sound like her commanding. Besides, I think it does sound a lot like the awkward Percy we all know. This part didn't bother me at all and I only snorted.
Really? I feel like it was classic Percy. Throughout the entire PJO series, Percy was always awkward and wasn't exactly confident in leading, but everyone looked up to him _because_ of his heroic traits, and followed him in the end. It showed that he's both a leader people can follow, but also very goofy like the Percy we know and love.
I really loved the Blood of Olympus. At the beginning I was dissapointed with the lack of Percabeth chapters, but as the story progressed you see that it wasn't really their story to tell. I was kinda glad that we didn't get Percabeth chapters that being said who doesn't like Percabeth? Nico's chapters were some of my favourites. It was great being in his head. The bonding with Reyna was fantastic. Nico has a best friend now I'd say, so happy for him. My favourite line is "You're cute but you're not my type". That scene was perfect. There's probably going to be Heroes of Olympus characters in the Magnus B-Chase series. I almost wrote Bane, because there were PJO characters in the Kane chronicles.
What about the part were Anabeth broke down in front of Piper and she sais that Percy scared her when he did that thing with the poison in Tartarus? I mean Percy is super strong, Anabeth knows it, Leo knows it, Hazel knows it, Nico knows it but in this book I feel like he wasn't apreciated enough...
I wish Rick would do a sixth book, or a few short stories that talk about 1. Percy's POV after the battle (reuniting with Tyson and Grover and others) 2. A random camper's POV on the return of Percy Jackson 3. SOLANGELO (ship them so hard) 4. CALYPSEO BACK AT CAMP 5. Percy reunites with his mom 6. Apollo's punishment 7. Snippets of Percabeth from "senior year in New York" to "staying at New Rome" to "I do"'s!!!!! 8. SOME ANSWERS!!!! Because really, after all that fiasco concerning Rachel and the Oracle, THAT'S how it ends (at least, how we know it ends)?! And Apollo!!! And stupid Zeus!!! Oops. I think I hear lightning. Gotta go.
I agree completely, it needed a Percy or Annabeth POV! Good news though: Rick's new short story, 'The Crown of Ptolemy', will have Percy, Annabeth, Sadie and Carter in it, and it'll be written in Percy Jackson's 1st person POV from start to finish!!! :D
Guys the story Crown of Ptonmely (can't spell the dam name) is coming out on the HoH paperback dammit! Plus what more could be said about them that we didn't already know. Their story in HoO is over I was very satisfied with the ending.
Christiiiine!!! I love you! I’ve been following you for years and though I read some of the series not as fast or updated as you are, you helped me a lot! Like for example now! I had just decided to read the Heroes of Olympus lately and just finished it. I finished the Percy Jackson series thought way way way before but hadn’t have the guts to read this series because first it wasn’t just about percabeth and at first I didnt like the idea of Roman Mythology but then I fell inlove with it! Watching your reviews makes me feel like its me who’s talkig because precisely they are my thoughts to but can’t share it to anyone in particular so I just keep them! That is why whenever I finish a book I always check to see if you have a book talk about that certain book. Thank you for being our voice! You are so great! Keep sharing your journey of reading to us!
I think you might be right about how Rick just straight up didn't write all of the chapters. I mean maybe I'm dumb but some of the earlier Piper chapters reference a conversation she had with Aphrodite that we just never saw happen? Ik Rick doesn't always like to reveal everything about a character at first but the way it was written it really felt like I was supposed to remember this conversation between Piper and Aphrodite. Also, before you mentioned it in this video I had totally forgotten that Annabeth had kind of a traumatizing conversation with Minerva that bothered her for like an entire book and then it just never gets resolved? Did she just forget about that whole thing?
A couple things. 1) The Reyna thing was resolved. Theyna(Thalia and Reyna) is totally cannon. 2)Also, I really like Jason, he's a great character. He is not that bad. 3) There are characters that died. Though The Leo thing did upset me a bit.
I don't believe that the ending was satisfying, and I was thinking that Rick couldn't possibly be so cruel as to leave us with such a poor ending. So I really like your idea about Magnus Chase being related to Annabeth and then having crossover characters that would create a more whole ending to the Percy Jackson books. I definitely preferred Nico and Reyna's P.O.V.s, it bugged me that Percy and Annabeth were so pushed to the side. I felt as if Rick was just trying to end the story, there could've been so much more to it.
It took me roughly 10 months to finish this series and I don’t know how to feel. Hero’s of Olympus is the best series I’ve ever read. I had really felt emotional for the past couple of days, I’m going to miss reading this.
My favorite part was when Nico told Percy he had a crush on him. That part was hilarious! Percy was so flustered, and Annabeth gave him a high five, and it was just great. Also, the part when Percy kissed Annabeth before they went into battle and told her he loved her made me cry, but I wish it was from Percy's POV!
This is pretty much everything that went through my mind when I was reading this book. I think Rick Riordan should write more about the seven. EVEN IF THEY'RE JUST SHORT STORIES! I just want to say goodbye to all of them properly. I want ALL their POVs! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!
When I finished the blood of Olympus I actually thought the book was amazing and I thought he ended the series well, and once I started watching other people's reviews I was shocked by how many people hated the ending, I thought the book was amazing 😝🤗😊 but I am so hipped for the trials of Apollo!
+Raahem Nabeel after halfway through the book I did relies that Percy had no point of view. I was very upset by this. Also I was very mad that Jason had so many chapters. The whole reason I like this book is only because of Leo, Piper(she grew up so much), Reyna, and Nico. They were the only reason I liked the book. Also Couch Headge 💁🏼
+Kitty Chan I only liked the book because Piper redeemed her self, Nico got awesome super powers that were amazing, Leo was awesome in this book, Reyna was amazing, and ya that is my supper powers
There's another book from Percy and Annabeth's point of view - It's called Demigods and Magicians: Percy and Annabeth Meet the Kanes. Don't read it if you haven't finished the Kane Chronicles series yet and don't want to get it spoiled, though.
When I was reading the last few chapters, I was like, WHAT THE HECK?! So the fight against Gaea lasted about 30 seconds and in the end, all they had to do was for Piper to say the word "sleep". And Leo ends up dying because of this and afterwards, they just briefly mention him and move on. Then, Annabeth and Percy have this little brief moment where they discuss their future and everything then that's the last time we will ever hear from them. And the worst part; Leo goes back to Calypso and they have this like, 10 second reunion (which don't get me wrong, it was cute). But then, they get on the dragon without even mentioning what they're going to do from this point on and the book ends with the words "and they soared into the unknown... The end. Okay? So that's it? The rest of the crew have no idea whether he's alive or dead? No idea if he will ever return? We don't even know how long it's been since he was dead! Has it been a few days since he went missing? Has it been a 100 years? I WANT MORE ANSWERS!!!! Magnus Chase better make up for this and they better have at least some parts with Annabeth, Percy and the rest of the crew. UGH, I just expected so much more out of this book. I was disappointed. :(
I definitely disliked this book the first time I read it, but when I read it the second time, already knowing that Percy and Annabeth had no POVs, I appreciated it more. Definitely not my favorite book in the series, but it wasn't as bad as I originally thought.
I wanted Annabeth and Percy's POV at first, but then I realized while reading that they HAD their series (The PJO seroes) and while I love love love *LOVE* them, this series wasn't _about_ them! I'm so glad we got to see more from the other demigods (although I do wish there was more Hazel/Frank). I'm absolutely so happy that Reyna and Nico got POVs- they are honestly my favourite characters now, or at-least in my top 5! ;)
^Yes, and they HAD their parts in the story. MoA heavily featured Annabeth, Son of Neptune featured Percy, and HoH was pretty much half of Percy and Annbeth's POVs. I love Percabeth too, but they had a lot of chances to shine, especially considering they were the main characters in PJO too.
I just had a thought... what if the reason this book was so rushed and incomplete is because Rick wrote it in the same year as Percy Jackson's Greek gods? Maybe he wasn't used to writing two books in a year, and he really didn't have the time to fit everything into the Blood of Olympus.
Ho Chia-I I think the Kane Chronicles overlapped with HoO. *thinks back to 8th grade* Yeah because The Red Pyramid was out already when The Lost Hero came out, The Throne of Fire came out before The Son of Neptune, and The Serpent's Shadow came out like 6 months before The Mark of Athena. I think.
AFTER 24 HOURS, MY TEARS ARE STILL VISIBLE AFTER READING THIS. SERIOUSLY, UNCLE RICK ENDED IT WITH A GIANT CLIFFHANGER. WHY?! WHY YOU GOTTA BE SO RUDE?!
it was a huge cliff hanger, Reyna unresolved, Rachel is starting a new project, Jason is building temples, nico is in recovery and percabeth has one more year at camp.......and then there was the lack of Frank and Hazel and Leo
percy is a hufflepuff - he values kindness and loyalty, Annabeth is a ravenclaw - she values wisdom, leo is a slytherin - he values determination, resourcefulness and a certain disregard for the rules and would do anything to survive, jason is a gryffindor - he values bravery and rebels against things, piper is a hufflepuff - she values kindness not breaking peoples hearts like her mother and uses her powers for good causes, frank is a hufflepuff - kind and thinks of others and believes in sacrifice for a greater good, hazel is a gryffindor - she is the bravest having survived and come back from so much and has 1940s chivalry. like if you agree
I really liked how nico grew throughout this book. I wish we saw a hell of a lot more percabeth moments and a Percy/sally reunion, but I really liked seeing from nicos point of view. I also would have liked to see a couple chapters of Leo coming back with calypso on festus! That would have made the book a bit more complete! I agree with you 100% on the Jason stuff tho😂😩
Me when I first finished: that was good Watches this video: WAIT YOU'RE RIGHT WHERE WAS PERCABETH Though that kiss before the battle in Athens was ADORABLE
When I first got the book, I skimmed through it to see which characters pov we got and when I didnt see percy I got so heated. My enthusiasm for the book literally just dropped completely. I didnt even start reading the book until 2 days later because of how mad I got at rick riordan. How the hell do you not give us percy who is the main character in every book (besides the lost hero) and the one who started this entire thing?
The one thing I really wanted to see was the last sentence is percy writing in a diary and he writes "so like I said I didn't want to be a half blood but..." And it ends
I feel that the ending in this book is (hopefully) a cliffhanger for a crossover series between Percy and the Heroes of Olympus, Kane Chronicles and maybe Magnum Chase.... That would be exciting as f***
And that bit about Reyna not finding a demigod who could heal her heart? Maybe she'll find it with an Egyptian or Norse????? That's an interesting possibility
I thought, since Percy was so over protective on Annabeth throughout te entir book something was going to happen to her. That she was going to die and there for they were going to use the cure on her. It would have been SOOO amazing to see Percy cry over her and she come back to life!!!!
They literally hinted in The Son of Neptune and again in Blood of Olympus that Percy was going to have this big choice and that his fatal flaw was going to endanger their quest and stuff and it never panned out. I was so mad about that. I was thinking he was gonna sacrifice something for Annabeth too.
Christine, I love you. But if you take it THIS far and want Nico to die. I'm gonna start sucking your soul out of the ground, Nico's my favorite I'm just a really defensive fangirl. But, in all honesty, everyone's gonna hate me for this. I think Frank should've died. I LOVE FRANK! Don't get me wrong, but he hasn't really helped in any books other than kill some stuff. Jason redeemed himself by keeping Nico's secret because if he told Piper then gods help me. I liked and got so attached to every demigod out of the 9. I got the most attached to Nico because of his backstory, the reason Percy or Annabeth aren't my favorite is because we've been with them since the first book and their backstory is already known and developed. Nico, Reyna, Hazel, Jason, Piper, Frank, and Leo's backstories aren't fully developed so you can make up what you think happened in their lifetimes. Again with the Nico, this comment Is too long, Kylie! Nico is great example as how one thing happens in your life and you're a totally different person after it happens, if Bianca never died, we wouldn't of had the same Nico and storyline of the last 3. I'll shut up now, I just really need to discuss the book with someone.
There was a part on this book where they got captured by the hunters of Artemis and Nico is talking about Bianca and Thalia and hazel and when he realizes that the hunters of Artemis took reyna... I remember him saying "they aren't taking another important person away from me." And then a different part where reyna tells him they have two homes now and they hug and he blinks tears out of his eyes.... I cried... but the best part of this entire book is when Nick admits to Percy his crush and at the end says "you're cute but you're not my type." BEST. NICO. MOMENT. EVER
1. I was really looking forward to a Percy pov mostly because of the reunion between him and Sally. 2. I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT WILL AND NICO 3. Not enough percabeth 4. Octavian can suck my ass 5. Not enough ella and Tyson moments. 6. WHAT HAPPENS TO LEO AND CALYPSO I AM NEVER GOING TO FEEL COMPLETE WITHOUT THAT 7. I really wanted a Grover and Percy reunion. We can't forget that they are BONDED to each other. 8. Magnus chase? TMI anyone? Am I the only one who thought of that? 9. I really just wanted to see a reunion between some of the seven and their parents, (Sally and Percy)(piper and her dad)(annabeth and her dad) oh and Jason doesn't count 10. Reyna needs a boyfriend 11. I'm really hoping that the next series will combine all of his series. I remember reading his Egyptian gods series a while ago and the scene where they are on the balcony of the house and see a Pegasus with a boy on it AKA PERCY AND BLACKJACK 12. The romance scenes didn't feel very genuine to me, they were so short and kinda felt like they were missing something. 13. A Millie and hedge reunion scene would be nice, but I did enjoy when hedge was running around showing off chuck. AND CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT THAT CLARISSE IS A GOD MOTHER. 14. The fighting Gaea scene was like 5 minutes. 15. Zeus needs to call the fuck down. 16.What happened to Percy's greatest flaw? His sacrifice? 17. NO ONE DIED 18. Can we talk about the scene where nico admits his crush he had on Percy? I literally screamed, Percy's reaction was perfect. 19. But for real, nicos character development tho, it was great 20. For the amount of Jason pov, we didn't see any of him and Thalia together. I am not ok with that. 21. WHY IS IT OVER Anyways, sorry for my rant, none of my friends read so I have to express my opinions somewhere. But I love the amount of sassy and sarcasm in this book:)
"You mean zodiac signs? I'm a Leo."
"No stupid, I'm a Leo. You're a Percy."
I feel like he was waiting the whole series to drop that line xD
XD
Gods, I know right! 😂
I loved that line! XDD
He definitely was. This is Rick
My favourite part in the entire series!!
THINGS I NEED
-canon solangelo
-percy and sally reunion
-MORE PERCABETH
-percy and grover reunion
-resolve to the reyna thing
THINGS I DID NOT GET
-all of the above
There's going to be a new book series in CaMp Half Blood called the Trials Of Apollo so that stuff might be resolved =D hopefully!!! :D
Katie Blain yes, i know that now! I'm so excited!
Should be interesting though.
and -leo and calypso
- Jason, Piper and Leo
- The 9 (Reyna and Leo included and Coach Hedge too) reunion, maan
I loved the last page of Nico's last chapter
XD
"I mean you're cute, but you're not my type,"
Abby B yeah I stayed up a few hours late to finish it then just thought about it till I fell asleep
And you just know that Percy's still going to be stuck on that weeks later, just like how he couldn't get over when Aphros and Byros didn't want to meet him because of complicated underwater politics. Like, he'll be in the middle of class and just turn to Annabeth and be like "Not his type?".
Maeve Howard Head cannon accepted! The fanfic that comes out of all the loose strings is going to be amazing.
I liked how they fleshed out Will Solance's character and his interactions with Nico.
Thank you! I really wanted to see percy see his dad and everyone for camp halfblood
I was so disappointed at the Blood of Olympus. The Lost Hero and Son of Neptune were buildups, introducing characters and such. The Mark of Athena and House of Hades were AMAZING, and they seemed to build up to the Blood of Olympus, which was....
*farts*
OMG same but noooooooo
Zenchant14 Games ikr I totally agree with you.
SAME👌
My absolute favorite part of this book
was when Percy and Annbeth were in the temple and Percy said "The fued is over Wisegirl. I love you"
I LOVE that part omg!!!
Yea. I started fangirling so much!
That. was. heart warming. Percabeth gave the book a necessary little boost imo
yuhhhhh that was just such an adorable line he said
I loved the part when Nico says bye to Percy and then he tells him that he loved him,and Percy is like what and then annabeth and Nico high five.
Yeah. That part made me laugh. Percy's like - "Wait, wh--"
"Bye Percy!" xD😂 I love SOLANGELO
+Rue Everdeen i
i hope reyna should go with nico
+զʊɛɛռ ɮaɮɨɨ.ɛ I guuueeeeesss but... NAH
+Kiah'sBookCorner They are PERFECT together 👌(did You read The Lost Oracle? There is Solangelo there,And it is soooooo AWSOME :D)
I JUST WANTED A PERCY AND SALLY REUNION. THAT'S ALL I WANTED.
I agree
xLucyWeasleyx I want the old friends from The Percy Jackson series such as Grover, Chiron, Mr.D, etc.
I wanted that too. I also wanted Grover to be in the series more
xLucyWeasleyx omg yes like way back in SoN we get like a message on their home phone THAT"S IT
We should start a petition: Rick Riordan needs to write a book of short stories tying up all of his loose ends!
I don't know why the fans like Calypso now I liked her before but after reading the bit where she cursed Percy in house of hades I hate her now and I want Leo to be like all sass and break up with her when he finds out
Read the Trials of Apollo. All the lose ends will be tied.
And they kept saying victory requires sacrifice but no one even died
I feel like the book needed so many more chapters to resolve everything and that would've been fine.. I would've read a longer book. I'VE READ 10 OF YOUR BOOKS READ A COUPLE HUNDRED PAGES MORE WOULDN'T HAVE STOPPED ME!!!
+Tehniyat Ikram I do agree with that.
I SWEAR IF I DONT AT LEAST SEE ANNABETH IN THE NEXT BOOK SERIES IM GONNA LOSE IT
Trials of Apollo is comin out in 2016
EXACTLY!!! OH MY GOD
the thing that pissed me off the most was that through the WHOOOOLE story, most every adversary percy had was all "oh your loyalty will be your downfall percy" AND THAT'S IT.
ArteryVeinn
Hey, give him a shot!
***** I complerely agree!
Also, off topic, but I love 6teen and your icon. :)
@@ArteryVeinn u were right magnus chase is an amazing trilology but ut still ended poorly
I was like 'why waste gold? Why not make armour that could stop you getting STABBED IN THE FIRST THREE CHAPTERS??'
Molly Comer Or at least make the glasses out of Celestial Bronze, which at the very least keep monsters away.
BLOOD OF OLYMPUS
Jason Chapters: 11
Piper Chapters: 9
Leo Chapters: 9
Hazel Chapters: 0
Frank Chapters: 0
Percy Chapters: 0
Annabeth Chapters: 0
Nico Chapters: 15
Reyna Chapters: 13
I JUST WANTED A GROVER AND PERCY REUNION BUT WHY?!?!
ME.MUERO.JODER.
+Autum Gallagher YES! and a Percy and Sally reunion too T_T
Todos necesitabamos eso
I loved the part when Nico said to Percy: "You are cute, but not my type!" or when Percy said: "I am a Leo" and Leo was just like "Dont be stupid! I am a Leo you are a Percy!"
I lllllooooovvvvveeeee the Leo Percy part❤️🐳❤️🐳❤️🐳
Lea-Luise Nolte the Percy-Leo bromance was definitely one of the best parts of the book, by far
Octavian's death doesn't count cause he was already dead to us ^-^
YASSSSSS
Definitely!
Preach that sista!
Ikr
Octavian was my fav character 😡octavian x chiron like the best ship ever
The first thing I said when I finished the book was repeatedly yelling "YOU CANT END A BOOK LIKE THAT. YOU CANT END A BOOK LIKE THAT." I was so unsatisfied. after everything Percy and annabeth went through, we don't even get their POV's? I wanted that last chapter with Leo and everybody having a reunion. I shipped calypso and Leo so fricken hard.
My favorite point of view in this book was obviously Leo, but overall Percy.
my book ratings
1. Son of Neptune
2. House of Hades
3. Mark of Athena
4. The blood of Olympus
5. The lost Hero
To me The House of Hades was a much more emotional and interestig book than The Son of Neptune.
Well it's time for you to read Magnus Chase aka Annabeth's cousin and then after that read The Trails of Apollo with SPOILER ALERT has Percy in it
okelise Why Magnus chase first? can't I read the trials of Apollo first?
IKR. SERIOUSLY. i mean, i don't want anyone to dies, but i feel like we needed a death
Percy Jackson and The Last Olympian: "Percy you are not the hero"
Blood of Olympus: Percy you are not the hero.
Percy: Are you kidding?
A few questions for you before I answer your questions, Christine:
1) HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT YOU WENT THIS ENTIRE VIDEO WITHOUT TALKING ABOUT SOLANGELO???
I agree with the Nico-Percabeth scene. And I agree with ALL your other points!!!!!! :-)
DUDE IM NOT A LITTLE OBSESSED WITH NICO IM COMPLETELY OVEROBSESSED WITH MY BEAUTIMOUS GHOST KING
I know right Psychotic Fangirls
Christine was like "Nico was like a terrifying demon god" and I said, out loud, to myself, "If that is the case then I worship him".
I basically sold my soul to solangelo within like 24 hours and I was a die-hard jasico shipper. Basically my OTP is Nico di Angelo and Happiness.
thank u for talking about nico in general
Miss Squiggles My pleasure. Nico is my baby and my OTP is him and happiness, so... I have a lot to say about that boy.
It should've been "The Nosebleed of Olympus"
YAS.
DUDE IT WAS SO FREAKIN ANTICLIMATIC. UGH.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL I know right!!!!
Nhu Phi
I know. I was like "WHAT THE FRICK?! THAT'S JUST IT?"
Book Hoarder I was expected someone to be gutted not a nose bleed.
I really liked that Percabeth scene where Percy was getting overprotective about Annabeth and he starts to stutter, so she kisses him.
OMG. REYNA CANT FALL IN LOVE WOTHA DEMIGOD, RIGHT? IN THE
NEW TRIALS OF APOLLO SERIES,
APOLLO WILL BE MORTAL, AND WILL PROBABLY INTERACT WITH REYNA, AS RICK HAS SAID WE WILL SEE OLD CHARACTERS. WHAT IF THEY FALL IN LOVE AND THEN WHEN APOLLO TURNS BACK INTO A GOD THEY WILL BE A THING?!?!
You are a genius !!!
We already have Solangelo and Caleo BUT I DON'T MIND. YES PLEADR
THAT'S WHAT I WAS THUNKIN, I KEPT THINKING ABOUT IT TODAY
I WAS THINKING THAT!! OMG I WOULD LOOOVEE THAT!
YES !!!!!
My favorite POV to read was Nico's. You get to see a slight struggle at first because he doesn't like being close to people, and by the end, he was really close to reyna and even allowed jason to hug him. Just so cute. And the thing about will being protective and stuff is super cute.
I think it would have been awesome if there were POV's from all of the seven, including nico and Reyna. It'd be a lot but it would have been great
If I could like this comment a thousand times I could!!!
Nico is my favorite character
Finally! Someone who understands!

SAME I LOVE NICO
"Nico didn't even pretend to die." -Xtine 2014
I was so enraptured in The Blood Of Olympus I failed to notice there weren't any Percy, Annabeth, Hazel, or Frank Chapters. I absolutely loved the way that things came together but I was also disappointed that there was no resolution for the Reyna love mystery thing. There could have been a little more about Nico and Will too, that would have been nice. Final note, it's Piper, like Viper not Pipper like slipper.....
I'm pretty sure she knows the pronunciation -- I think since the SoN book talk -- but she just says Pipper instead of Piper.
ballerina2rockerchik if you watched her videos you would know that she knows it piper but she says she likes saying piper like pipper so......
literally the only thing i think about from this book anymore is solangelo. solangelooooo.
but yeah okay i completely forgot about how Athena was mad at Annabeth which is dumb of me because it's kind of the focus of an entire book and I didn't realize how much i craved resolution between them until now.
also YES a "leo + calypso uniting with the rest of camp half blood" chapter would have been the best way to end the book. WHY IS RICK RIORDAN SO AGAINST CLOSED ENDINGS? IM SICK OF THIS OPEN ENDING STUFF GODS
Unless Leo did die and Leo's final chapter was Elysium . . .
DONT SAY THAT
DO. NOT. EVEN.
THAT WAS NOT NEEDED
STOP. RIGHT NOW STOP.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING!
Dude, I totally agree with you.
+KingJess 🌞 makes sense but don't you just wish you had at least one Percy or Annabeth chapter regardless of that?
omg I wasnt even aware people disliked jason and piper. this series is one of those rare ones where I literally liked everyone
+KingJess 🌞
It only made it worse because he literally put them into Percabeth's place and denote them so Jasper could shine and it was horrible.
Too funny.
Yeah, but my memory (as a human) is far from perfect.
Nico and Reyna should have been together
Oh my god !!!! Same !!!! I so fuckubg Agree with you !!!
Samee
"I mean your nice, but your not really my type" -Nico
I think I screamed when I read that.
Will Solace is special, him and nico together is adorible!!!
PREACH!
YESSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
nico +will = otp
THERE IS NOOOOO DEVELOPMENT IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP... OTHERWHISE NICO AND REYNA..........
spartan77bc there will be in the new book ik there will and Nico is gay
+spartan77bc Nico and Reyna are on the top of my notp list, they're like brother and sister ..
+Mimi “Frank” Connor ....if it's even cannon
it wasnt canon but.. it was hinted at really heavy handedly lol
anyway trials of apollo will have all the answers (I hope)
I really liked the book. The only thing that bothered me was that there was no reunion with percy and his mom, or grover or chiron or any of his friends from CHB. It would have been nice to have at least one chapter from the other characters pov's but i get why there weren't any from percy or annabeth.
I don't know if anyone realized this but when leo, hazel and frank hear Apollo playing his sad music leo says it hurt his feels. HIS FEELS!!!
I KNOW RIGHT like RIORDAN ARE YOU MOCKING US
I caught that had me busting in laughter God what have we become?
I personally that, like, Leo died and went with Calypso, but that's it. He can't come back. He was able to be with her, but not with anyone else. Guess No one else thinks that.
Pretty Little Liars He can. With Calypso. That's literally what happened at the end
Rohan he did it on house of Hades with the whole Tartarus thing
there was so much left unresolved.
Okay rant over
It was sooo much anticipation about the war with Gaia, and it kinda just happened in about 3-4 chapters..*facepalm*
And the description on the back, the blurb, says "The greatest sacrifice EVER" And I am just here like BISH-WHAT?
I love how Percys nosebleed caused the apocalypse 😂🤣😂
Can anyone tell me what Percy's little prophecy thing was talking about? (you will face a sacrifice that you may not be able to make and it will cost you the world) Because he didn't make any sacrifices in the end and I was stressing about it through the whole book
i know so open eneded
Idk but I think it was letting Jason, piper, and Leo fight Gaea on their own. Bc frank kind of stopped him from helping i guess
Yeah I thought it might've been that too but if it is that it was kind of anticlimactic
Sure, he's not as great as Percy, but nobody's perfect, right?(and yeah, I know he's a fictional character and all)
jasons okay
but compared to percy
I MEAN HE'S PERCY JACKSON
C'MON
Right Tiffany he's percy, he's what Harry potter and katniss everdeen could never aspire to be, Social and accepting of his likability
Yeah. XD It was awesome, it's cool to see someone else who thinks like me.
Christine do a video on your thoughts of TMI becoming a TV show!! I'M SO FREAKIN EXCITED OMG
Wait what?!?!?!? This is a thing!
Ya!
I think Tartarus happened.
You know, it kinda messed him up a bit.
Me too! He hasnt got POVS and nothing :(
mood SAME. i mean i felt like they were sooo dam useless in this book uggghhhhh
I wish Rick would do a sixth book, or a few short stories that talk about
1. Percy's POV after the battle (reuniting with Tyson and Grover and others)
2. A random camper's POV on the return of Percy Jackson
3. SOLANGELO (ship them so hard)
4. CALYPSEO BACK AT CAMP
5. Percy reunites with his mom
6. Apollo's punishment
Gotta go.
I feel like I'm the only one who loves Jason. I'll die alone then.
I love Jason. He's the perfect son of Jupiter lol
late but that's just it, people thinks he is to perfect
You're not the only one!
He is my favorite
He is my favorite in the burning maze and he died in the burning maze so thats awesome
Do you know when it comes out?
Really? With Sadie and Carter? Those are 2 characters I thought I would never hear from again! Thanks for informing me!
Sophie Kebret Goodreads says 2015, which is probably not helpful, but I'm gonna assume late spring, maybe summer.
I KNEW he was having more stuff about pjo/kc i mean staff of Serapis ... And this ending ... It's not over
Guys the story Crown of Ptonmely (can't spell the dam name) is coming out on the HoH paperback dammit! Plus what more could be said about them that we didn't already know. Their story in HoO is over I was very satisfied with the ending.
“i don’t want reyna to join the hunters”
[a few years and books later]
reyna: well...
The BLOOD of Olympus
Percabeth Blood! And they haven't got a POV
I actually like Jason and Nico more than Percy. I don't like even Percy that much so I was happy not to have his POV. Also it is Pipe-r not Pepper.
She didn't even say pepper she said pip-er ( and anyway it's a joke ( her saying pip-er)
No, I listen too it again. She says Pepper.
so why read a book series with him in it>
screw i really hate ur thought dont have anything nice to say about percy theN SCREW U GET A LIFE.......................
I like the other characters and I have the right to like whoever I want to. I don't have to answer to you or anyone else. Son of Hades all the way!
When I finished the blood of Olympus I actually thought the book was amazing and I thought he ended the series well, and once I started watching other people's reviews I was shocked by how many people hated the ending, I thought the book was amazing 😝🤗😊 but I am so hipped for the trials of Apollo!
Wait u didn't notice Percy had no chapters ?
+puppypaws2012 how did you do that? wow u must have superpowers
I thought it was atrocious
i need another book 1. what happend with nico 2.what happend with leo and calypso 3. percy didnt meet his mom again 4. more percy/annabeth romance
There's another book from Percy and Annabeth's point of view - It's called Demigods and Magicians: Percy and Annabeth Meet the Kanes. Don't read it if you haven't finished the Kane Chronicles series yet and don't want to get it spoiled, though.
WHEN SHE SAID JESUS I DIED
It's Pie-per! Please! Not Pip-er
Pipe-er
But it is the last book it has to be finished properly
I just had a thought... what if the reason this book was so rushed and incomplete is because Rick wrote it in the same year as Percy Jackson's Greek gods? Maybe he wasn't used to writing two books in a year, and he really didn't have the time to fit everything into the Blood of Olympus.
That makes a lot of sense, actually.
But wait, has he written the Kane Chronicles and Percy Jackson books at the same time? I'm not sure if he has or not.
diamondocelot1 He finished the pjo series in 2009 and started the Kane chronicles in 2010
diamondocelot1 ugh, now I'm nervous 'cause he's writing another book same time next year, Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes.
I sang that last sentence in my head
it was a huge cliff hanger, Reyna unresolved, Rachel is starting a new project, Jason is building temples, nico is in recovery and percabeth has one more year at camp.......and then there was the lack of Frank and Hazel and Leo
nigel spencer Ohh. Yeah, a giant cliffhanger. -.-
percy is a hufflepuff - he values kindness and loyalty, Annabeth is a ravenclaw - she values wisdom, leo is a slytherin - he values determination, resourcefulness and a certain disregard for the rules and would do anything to survive, jason is a gryffindor - he values bravery and rebels against things, piper is a hufflepuff - she values kindness not breaking peoples hearts like her mother and uses her powers for good causes, frank is a hufflepuff - kind and thinks of others and believes in sacrifice for a greater good, hazel is a gryffindor - she is the bravest having survived and come back from so much and has 1940s chivalry. like if you agree
I don't appreciate how in the last book so many of the MAIN CHARACTERS didn't get perspectives . Like wtf!? It's the finale for crying out loud
I agree with you 100% on the Jason stuff tho😂😩
is no one honestly talking about nico's confession to percy. like that scene is just so overwhelming.
will solace did not die because i think hes supposed to be with nico
Me when I first finished: that was good
Watches this video: WAIT YOU'RE RIGHT WHERE WAS PERCABETH
Though that kiss before the battle in Athens was ADORABLE
When I first got the book, I skimmed through it to see which characters pov we got and when I didnt see percy I got so heated. My enthusiasm for the book literally just dropped completely. I didnt even start reading the book until 2 days later because of how mad I got at rick riordan. How the hell do you not give us percy who is the main character in every book (besides the lost hero) and the one who started this entire thing?
4 years later, Reyna joins the Hunters of Artemis lol
I like Jason......
Why does everyone hate him?
#JasonFail
mish idk I like him, just not as much as the other 6
When you said something about Reyna's love prophecy, I think maybe she will fall in love with Magnus Chase.
This would be awesome if it came true!! I would love to get more Reyna, anyway I can get it
I agree, I love Reyna
The one thing I really wanted to see was the last sentence is percy writing in a diary and he writes "so like I said I didn't want to be a half blood but..." And it ends
I feel that the ending in this book is (hopefully) a cliffhanger for a crossover series between Percy and the Heroes of Olympus, Kane Chronicles and maybe Magnum Chase....
That would be exciting as f***
And that bit about Reyna not finding a demigod who could heal her heart?
Maybe she'll find it with an Egyptian or Norse?????
That's an interesting possibility
It says demigod she could just fall in love with a mortal
I was just happy that we finally got to see from Nico's perspective.
Okay if Nico is like that powerful, and he only received 50% from Hades... Imagine Hades.
Tiffany Courtney yes the big "sacrifice" Ares/mars mentioned to Frank never played out
Bookish Baking Fangirl Um .... Leo?
Christine-- "COULD THERE BE ANY MORE JASON CHAPTERS?!"
My speakers stopped working.
2. I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT WILL AND NICO
3. Not enough percabeth
4. Octavian can suck my ass
5. Not enough ella and Tyson moments.
6. WHAT HAPPENS TO LEO AND CALYPSO I AM NEVER GOING TO FEEL COMPLETE WITHOUT THAT
7. I really wanted a Grover and Percy reunion. We can't forget that they are BONDED to each other.
8. Magnus chase? TMI anyone? Am I the only one who thought of that?
9. I really just wanted to see a reunion between some of the seven and their parents, (Sally and Percy)(piper and her dad)(annabeth and her dad) oh and Jason doesn't count
10. Reyna needs a boyfriend
11. I'm really hoping that the next series will combine all of his series. I remember reading his Egyptian gods series a while ago and the scene where they are on the balcony of the house and see a Pegasus with a boy on it AKA PERCY AND BLACKJACK
17. NO ONE DIED
18. Can we talk about the scene where nico admits his crush he had on Percy? I literally screamed, Percy's reaction was perfect.
19. But for real, nicos character development tho, it was great
20. For the amount of Jason pov, we didn't see any of him and Thalia together. I am not ok with that.
21. WHY IS IT OVER
Anyways, sorry for my rant, none of my friends read so I have to express my opinions somewhere. But I love the amount of sassy and sarcasm in this book:)
