if you do this again next winter, try adjusting the deck so that the front of the deck is one inch higher than the back end. not sure if that would really help or not but there's one way to find out

I read several comments on the Drive Home video comments and some people were leaving unkind comments. Me personally I think it's Great that you are having Fun!! I would stay up and watch more, but I have 2 Machines that I have to work on tomorrow. Both of them are Old Murrys. One just needs a Fuel System flush. The other one I have to swap out the Transaxle, Change the Oil and sharpen the blades. I think I'm just going to subscribe so I can come back and see what other videos you have. ✌😎👍👍

If a John Deere D105 has a plastic transmission it is on the recalled list on the John Deere website. Plus the transmission has the MTD design and is probably made by MTD. That particular design can often fail as it gets older and right when the warenty expires it fails most likely!
JD service guy here - the parking brake assy. is what fails in some of the recalled units, which allow some of the units to freewheel like they are in neutral. It is a simple fix, but because you can get a brand new CVT unit for around $300.00, it is faster and cheaper to just replace the whole unit. The transmissions are not made by MTD. They are made by General Transmission, a Texas based U.S. Company. We routinely take in D105's for service that have 500 or more hours that still have perfect transmissions.

MtD dont make the transmissions anyway. Tuff Torque makes them.

If you are going to "mow the snow" be sure to use 4-cycle 10W30 motor oil and not SAE30 oil.
