    I love the way you put the history into old scrolls and books on the screen. It sets the setting for the stories.

    Thank you for taking the time to cover this fascinating subject. As a helpful tip, I would suggest putting up a map of the territories/tribes in question.
    Edit: It would also appear that Livy's lifespan is given as 59BC-79AD instead of 59BC-17AD.

      59 bc to 79ad....that'd be 120 years if my math is right lol

    You gotta use proper Roman equipment in your videos though. The soldiers in your presentations are wearing the equipment of the Imperial Roman Army, not the Early Roman Republic as should be.

      Yeah, some simple breastplates for hastatii and mail shirts for principes and triarii. Not only is that armor “imperial”, it is fantasy. Get rid of the leather! No armbands either. The lorica segmentata (spelling) was all metal. Just google search this shit, it’s readily available, but other than that I dig it. The ambush scene was excellent as well.

    I love your artwork, but on videos like this I think it'd be really helpful to show some top down map images. There are a lot of names in history but when I see the locations on the map it usually makes the peoples more clear.

    In Italy the story begins only from Roman Empire. I think the forget the OSCO/SAMNITE not present only in the Campania region. I am praticly sure this people have been discerning the Spartan origin.Sorry for my English language.Bests regards.

    • @atharvasankhe790
      @atharvasankhe790 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry but what do you mean by Spartan origin? Is this something similar to Romans coming from Troy? Those origin stories are only myths, somewhat invented to help with propaganda in the Punic Wars. The real origin of Romans and Samnites is from a common ancestral group that is called Proto-Italic who migrated to Italy from the alps. We aren't sure where exactly the Proto-Italic people were before they split apart, but they are believed to have been related to Terramare or Villanovan cultures

      Roman Imperial Army or Roman Republic Army? Sparta on its own? Or are we including The United Greek Army from the Persian War?

    Seems like a lot of guess work trying to determine what actually happened...another example of how the knowledge of our own history, is infinitesimally small...

  • @Joshua-uw7wm

    It was just a work around like everything else in Rome. We weren't supposed to wage war unless it was in defense or for an honorable cause. We didn't worship Mars the God of war but Avenging Mars the God of war and retribution. We originally were charged with being a physical reckoning on earth.
    But Romans being Romans just twisted the facts to skirt around the oath and charge of our people at the founding of our city.

    It's interesting to know that the people of Rome would not have conquered so much land if they did not worship the god Mars. #thoughts?

    • @jamesx2464
      @jamesx2464 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll be studying on the god Mars and it looks like the Romans took the Greek pantheon and adapted it into their own Society and I'm thinking Mars might be a combination of Athena and Aries

    • @gaventer2022
      @gaventer2022 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually Athena is the Greek counterpart to Minerva, and Ares is the Greek counterpart to Mars. There are many other examples aswell, such as: Zeus=Jupiter, Hera=Juno, Hestia=Vesta, Eris=Discordia, Hermes=Mercury, Aphrodite=Venus, Artemis=Diana, etc... Some even have the same name such as Apollo.
