I see that this is 4 years ago. I'm just getting started and scrubbing TH-cam for info. By far, your videos are the BEST! Clear information that is immediately actionable. I'm Nicole from Provo, Utah USA
I just finished my first year cycle as an apprentice farmer and am currently at the end of my first permaculture design course online. I really appreciate your teaching style as compared to some i've had thus far. I will be digging in to your catalog. You actually have already helped me very much with my final design project. Thank you for your work, service and all valuable content.
I've been following your videos from Portugal (the time zone difference means that it has been a bit difficult for me to meet you guys live). The whole permaculture concept is truly inspiring and your channel is amazing. Also truly inspiring is to see how VergePermaculture can be so productive with so many really interesting videos every week! You are truly generous with your knowledge. I've been sharing your work and will keep following you guys!
you are probably aware of the community of Tamera .... Not sure if they are organized by the principles of permaculture but they consulted with Sepp Holzer as far as I know and have several large lakes to catch the winter rain and get over the summer.
The man who planted trees is about a real story. This man in Africa kept planting seeds from trees and other plants even though the area had been in a horrible drought for many years. Everyone in his village made fun of him, said he was crazy. That is until the rains came. And with the rains came trees and trees and trees,. hundreds of them along with hundreds of other plants and the soil started to improve. Food come back , animals came back. He is now held as a hero to his village and many other places. Unfortunately he lost some of that land to industrial use and companies wanting to plant monocrops. I believe he did get some of it back and is trying to get more. This is why we all have to help not only the land around us but everywhere.
I attended the Permaculture Day in Fairview last week, it was a pleasure to meet and learn from Rob. I am curious about the economics/ecological benefits etc. of the sun tubes?
Such great info, Rob! Any tips on effective rainwater harvesting on a small suburban property with clay soils? I don't want to waste water, but neither do I want things getting too soggy and swishy. I'm trying to increase soil carbon by mulching and compost teas, so hopefully that will help. I'm redoing our raised beds to be similar to yours with the rainwater from the garage distributed beneath the paths to provide irrigation. But I'm worried that it's not going to infiltrate enough. What's your soil like on your site?
Great video and very imformative. I live on flat old farm land. There are some small ditches crossed through the middle of the property. What would be the best way to harvest this water on flat land? Dam the ditches and dig a pond? Swale? Others? Or should i just fill in the ditches?
I know this is an old video. Wish I would of started learning about permaculture before I had a new roof put on. We are rich with rain but unfortunately the new roof has fungicide in it. Any way to work around that?
Lolol I just attempted to do the homework showing water flow and contouring.. we have 5 acres and it looks like my son got a hold of my pencils and made a pretty picture... he’s just under 1yr old 😂🙈
I think it's important to ad (often) that this is nothing new. Aspects of this can be found in many landscapes that have been successfully used for century's.

I can't find 'Building a Solutions Matrix on You Tube or on your website. I would really like to find it.
Looks like a great pen.
Just saw that there is also a 2020 series on here. Is the information much different?

Could someone add the link for the "solutions matrix" video? I haven't been able to find it searching youtube.
I would also love to find that video. I tried searching for it but I can’t find it.
