Disaster while doing a Milky Way shot! It's an expensive mistake. EP21

I am in South Texas trying to pull off a Milky Way shot when disaster strikes.
The Canon 90D is one tough camera, the Tamron 24-70 2.8 G2 is not so tough. Sad night for me photography career.

Man, sorry for your lens. I hope you get it fixed. I've come close to dropping a lens a few times and it makes my heart skip a bit when it happen. I liked the dramatic music as you were telling the story; lemonade from lemons, I guess. And I have no idea about fixing lenses. Good luck with it.👍👍

You have to laugh sometimes although when it happened I wanted to cry. I’ll keep y’all posted on how the fix turns out.
