In the Atlas Mountains we used to have a type of barley it reaches a metere and a half long near the season of harvest .that specimen of barley would be best yeild for silage . Best regards to canadian farmers .
Do the beard spikes from the head bother the cows any? Here in Wisconsin some guys plant a beardless variety of winter wheat so they can take it for silage if needed but usually let it go for grain.

Why barley silage as opposed to wheat silage? Surely the wheat silage would have more starch and energy?
