    OMG, THANK YOU!!! I wish I had seen this when you made the video. A few months ago I bought soft-close hinges not knowing that you had to be really careful together right ones; it would be hard to find ENOUGH of the right ones; and - after I’d hired someone to install them - it depends on the distance between the edge of the cabinet door and the next cabinet door!! It was SO frustrating, and expensive after paying the guy for the ones he was able to do. So we did not get all of them up. This is an amazing solution, and you’re not replacing two or three per door. I’m definitely going to try it!🙌🏾👍🏾

    Installed those for my step mother and it made a huge difference. We have the soft close hinges at home but I find myself involuntarily slamming other peoples cabinet doors that are not soft close because I am used to ours. :)

      Haha, yeah I totally get that. We had them at our old house and it took us a while to get used to not having them when we moved.

    Thanks for the video - I don’t think the dampers work on cabinets with exposed hinges (visible from the outside) at least not what I could find. Do you have ideas for those?

    Can you use that on a lazy Susan door?

    • @TopHomeowner
      @TopHomeowner  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes the lazy susan doors are different, some spin around with the trays. If it's a standard door these can be used, but it won't work for the other type.

      Another great question! I wouldn’t have thought of this, and I have one of those doors with the trays attached. Thanks for the question and the answer!

    May I ask the name and model of the decibel reader?

      It's from a brand called "Meterk" that I picked up from Amazon but it doesn't look like it's made anymore.

    I bought these, but I can't get the tension adjusted correctly. Meaning, by the time I get the tension low enough that the door will close all the way, it slams. Otherwise, the side of the cabinet door opposite the hinge doesn't clode all the way (like the door isn't touching the face frame). Can I adjust the hinge somehow?

    • @TopHomeowner
      @TopHomeowner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, depending on the hinge they should be adjustable. If it's a "cup" style (one end is a circle) then you should be able to tighten and loosen the screws attached to the face frame in order to make it sit properly.

      $55 for a pack of 25. So it’s $2.20 per unit. I assumed you realized that afterwards but I just wanted to let you know in case you didn’t 🤙🏽

    I heard soft close hinges aren't a long-term solution, you'll be replacing them in a number of years.

    I rented a room to deaf man, what a mess he is. He not only does not hear it doors and cabinets slamming, he does not care that he is slamming doors. I hate the deaf now. This will help.
