I took Japanese for 5 years and was going to go to Japan with my fellow classmates. I wanted so badly to see their culture, including their paranormal legends and superstitions. Unfortunately a deer jumped through my car 3 weeks before the trip, kicking my ear off, giving me a broken jaw and head injuries. This story has inspired me to chase that dream. To make plans to go to Japan and finally immerse myself. This was as inspiring, as it was creepy.
Well, yokai got to pay bills too. Seriously, though, this is a very good video. I like how this, along with much of the other videos on this channel, rely more on creepy atmosphere and a build up of tension with the images and story, such a here by showing normal street views in Japan before going to the shadow figures. The final story with the phantom waitress is especially a high point as it is presented as a moment of weirdness that often shows up in Japanese horror stories. She's not actively menacing, just surreal and off-putting, which makes the creep out in the end much more effective in my opinion.
Sounds like that kid was followed by a couple of ghostly onii-chans. The encounter with the ghost waitress could have gone much worse. If anything, she sounded like she was just being helpful and friendly to his family.

Japanese horror, I’ll take 40, Large, hold the lettuce, extra freak sauce.
I'll have two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda.
Being served by a ghost waitress? C R E E P Y.
