HÅLLBAR is THE BEST! I don't use it for trash but I do use it to store both dry cat food and dry dog food. Makes life so much easier to just pull it out, refill as needed, and lose kibble not be spilling in my cabinet. Love it.
I immediately ran to IKEA here in Manila after watching this. Thank God, it's available here in Manila. I bought 2 of these and thanks for your your recommendation . Loving this cabinet much.
Yes. Pls do another. You are the best designer I've ever seen on any platform. Honestly, you give so much information, it's in the perfect price range, the tips are diff then anywhere I've seen delivered in an entertaining way, you're down to earth, sounds like you know your shit... Works for me. Thank you😘
Thank you so much for the list! Saw your video stopped when I saw the mirror; last year missed out on home delivery, went straight to Ikea and ordered the mirror🎉🎉🎉 then finished up the video. Thank you thank you thank you❤❤❤
Drove to Ikea yesterday for the Humble Tronnes Shoe Cabinet .They were sold out . The drive was so long and store was so overwhelming I had to leave . I need a plan before going to Ikea .I use the Tronnes for everything in small rental apartment .TY for this video .❤❤❤
I have a set of Trones in my foyer and I got so many compliments on them! I bought them years ago when they were selling as a set of 3 (I got the black ones). I also have a set of 2 white ones. They are worth their weight in gold.
Your design channel is full of sound criticism and common sense, but you also look more fit and good looking. Because you asked us, your ardent subscribers, I say, "Please do another video about Ikea!"
So good you have curated some of Ikea’s best pieces. I get overwhelmed both on their website and in the store and either can’t make a decision or buy a pile of stuff I’m not happy with . Have a good week. Love from the UK 👍🏻
Yes please do a second on IKEA. Where we live doesn’t have IKEA near so if I beg my kids to take me on the once a year trip to see them I get the wonder through. 😂❤
I can't do Ikea, but I love it. Their stores are located 2 hours outside Chicago and thats just toooo far. They need to move into the city. And I used to order Ikea for profs at a university and the returns were hellish.
So, I was pushed into giving up my old collection of vinyl records and my turntable about 15 years ago, and I’ve regretted it ever since. My point here is that I refuse to give up my physical CD collection. So long as I have a way to play them, they’re staying with me. Anyway, back in the 90’s I purchased two of the Classic BILLY CD storage units from the store in Burlington, Ontario (near Toronto), one in a deep red color, the other in deep blue. I still continue to collect Classic CD’s today as well, along with new ones from select artists. Which leads to my crushing disappointment to find that IKEA no longer makes this item, at least not for sale in the U.S. market (I now shop at the Tempe, AZ location). Do you know of any comparable CD storage units that you might recommend…? 🙂
I missed out on the orange donut lights, too. The Vancouver stores sold out fastest than I could get to them. (Perhaps Ikea may do a reissue?) Yes, please to you doing a part 2
The nearest IKEA to me is 3 hours away because apparently someone in Sweden hates me…regardless, there is a shelf that I’ve been looking at and since you brought it up, I’d love your opinion. It’s the FJÄLLBO.
@@dianeshelton9592 It’s an IKEA issue not a US issue. Some of the larger heavier items and some of the more fragile items change to be shipped because they are more difficult; the rest of the items ship for free once you spend a certain amount or are a reasonable fee to have delivered.
i'm with you 1000% on reeded glass. i have some in my kitchen, and i love it; it's just a lovely look. The mirrors, however, are another story. i hate mirrors, because the last thing i want to do is see more of myself than absolutely necessary. We have two mirrors in our main bathroom and one in the second, and that's more than enough. And just a thought on the Eket -- i don't know how much weight they can hold, but the ones with a door could be used as a kind of pantry in a small space. And if they were arranged in an interesting way, they'd also function as decor; no one would have to know you're got your chicken noodle soup in there 😁 Great video, as always, DD -- and yes, more of these would be great. Ikea has so much to look at and you bring it down and make it manageable.
Just discovered your video...like the info, some was fun, the peg..the dimming led light...love.....Eket ?..@14:52..desperate for above toilet BUT pic does not show this...please show !
I bought three IKEA pieces and all of them are incredibly cheaply made. The sides are corrugated cardboard and painters tape will pull the extremely thin coat of finish off. I had to weigh out everything that was going on a shelf so the sides would support it. The doors on two units were so awkward and heavy that they had to be adjusted every time they were opened and closed. One piece was supposed to have a wood finished top--it was contact paper. For what IKEA costs, it is not worth the money.
I waffled on doing the built in garbage on the remodel. Ultimately decided it kinda grossed me out and opted to put it in the garage. I wonder if there’s a way to do it air tight (smell). That would be cool. Ps… when I was in a high rise apt I didn’t have a garbage bin bc of the trash chute.
Japan has the donut lights in stock. Smile😊 Trade you the donut lights for Articles Heron floor black lamp?? Was it one of your videos that introduced this lamp? We don’t have Article in Japan. 😞
does anyone knows if his chair is a plastic air chair?..each time I watch his videos I always worry that it will pop since it moves when he does...Thanks for the video.
Okay so now I’m VERY confused!!! where do you put the trash cans if not in a bottom cabinet? Like… what? I mean, I might live in Sweden but I don’t understand where you would put the can? Do you just leave it in the kitchen? Is that normal? I’m so lost rn xD Cuz I thought everyone had their bins under the kitchen sink. Like I thought that that was as obvious as a house having a roof… please I need answers 🥴
The donut lamps are getting back in stock early March. You can register to get notified as soon as they're available. I know Swedish pronounciation is hard non-speakers, but please do learn how to pronounce the letter Å/å. It's not A/a, it's kind of like "oh", but with the "o" as in how Santa says "ho ho ho", not as in "orange". It'd make a world of a difference for your Swedish viewers to hear that one letter pronounced correctly, trust me ;)
You're only the 2nd or 3rd person I've ever heard say just "a garbage" alone instead of "a garbage can/bin". Is that a Canada thing? (I don't remember ever talking to my Canadian friends about their trash in particular, heh)
I love that maniacal little laugh you give sometimes. Sounds like someone getting excited before cutting out someone's liver to fry up with their fava beans. Just kidding, love all your videos and have even used some of your advice with a recent kitchen remodel.
love your videos and content but this is one the first that I have had to click off of because of the blaring background music. just some constructive feedback ❤
I’ve been following another designer around the same length of time. Yesterday she recommended backless kitchen benches 😱 Considering just the other day you reminded us that they are sooo uncomfortable to sit at. I had to unsubscribe from her. At least you remember that folks use these things 😍
@@coastaldiva I don't consider that far. My closest Ikea is an hour away. Then there is another one about 15 minutes further and I even have a third one where I could go if I had to but that one would be 2 hrs. (one way).
Billy bookcases are flimsy. Ok for lightweight objects etc. I still have my old Expedit cube unit which holds all my cookbooks. Billy would sag under all that weight😢
I've been growing up with Ikea, but I don't like many things as much now. The EKET looks cheap to me, like from a laundry room. I have a Besta cupboard. When I assembled it, I think I dropped a hammer on the floor of it. It puched a crate into the floor like it consisted of paper and air. The quality is not higher than the price. In general, Ikea show rooms look fuzzy to me, to much stuff, open shelving, small furniture peaces. And way too much white laminate.
Never have I ever had anything from IKEA. Buuuut do not come for me with the "privilege" checking...I shop consignment, Facebook marketplace and goodwill to complement newer items such as sofas which I prefer to get new from a higher end store for quality and longevity.
You make really decent videos. I would just recommend not spending so much time on one item but overall good job. I am a designer myself and currently been revamping some styles for my craft room and guest bedroom working in SketchUp/design software. I’ve been making a lot of content for DIY, home, renovation, Christmas, decor, etc. I just need to sit down and edit them so I have a bunch of videos but it’s nice seeing other designers talk about work and so forth.
