YES YOU HEARD ME !!
In this video I will be covering my daily routine in a 21 hour day .
We had to skip 3 hours due to the shift in time zone . It took a toll on the body & mind but you will see how we adjust to it.
Also I will be including the drill which we carried out to rescue a person from an enclosed space . 🚢
You will be witnessing how my day passes & what all I do to keep myself busy & sane 😛
In addition to that a really nice time lapse will make you realise how a big ship also rolls in normal weather .

Your job has very important role and interesting. I am starting to understand how a seafarers life actually goes about in the seas. You are doing an excellent job to explain complex things. Even a layman like me can understand easily. Since you mentioned Malacca is your next heading, well I am actually from Selangor, Malaysia.

Sir one doubt..... what to do if dutie office is on the watch for 4 but we advance the time by 3 hrs so will he/she have watch for 1 hour only?
It depends I think. The Watchkeeping officers will split those. That means 3/O, 2/O, and C/O will have one 3 hours Watch each

But yes Rest Hours are properly given, no worries
I did 2 ships in Maersk as a Cadet. Both Danish Flag. It all depends on the Chief Officer. My first one I only did 8 hours on normal days because we are doing Coastal (Med Sea Route). Second One I did 10 Hours per day on Normal Days. Both Ships I have Sundays off but I allocate it solely for my Academic Requirements.
By normal days I mean we are not approaching port.

Really enjoying the videos. I work as a second officer. What is your watch schedule? 4 hours on with 8 hours off? I've never changed more than one time zone at once. I think I would like that more rather than changing a time zone every day or two. Stay safe!
Yes 4 on 8 off . Though this was because the captain wanted to do it all at once

My father is retired from merchant navy and he is telling that's it's not possible to increase 3 hours in one day. At his time they use to increase 20 mins daily to adjust + 4 hours GMT

Sir is wearing a uniform not mandatory on board ships now? My father retired as a chief engineer back in 2003 and he told me that they had to wear a uniform when comming to mess room.

Why lose 3hrs when I was at sea we used to move the clock forward or back 1hr a day then adjust clocks 20 mins a watch during the night hours
