Hi Gregz, just reasrching various VR experiences again as part of the PSVR2 news. Couple.of questions: What headset do you use? What resolution is that? Can you comfortably make out key details? I found on older headsets, things were always a bit pixelated and blurry in the distance. Things like details on the dash were not legible.
Hi Alan. I use an Oculus/Meta Quest 2 via USB-C/3 cable link, which operates on the PC like an Oculus Rift headset. The first generations of the Rift/Vive etc were indeed quite blurry overall, and in the distance. More recent headsets like this one and newer improve that situation significantly, with huge resolution bumps, but it’s still ultimately not as crystal sharp as a 4K monitor or something, but it’s very close indeed. As for resolutions, the base on my headset that I run, is 3616 by 1840, and you can bump that up(1.5x super-sample) in the software, to ludicrous levels of 5048 x 2373, GPU-permitting. My PC - which would’ve been high spec in 2016, is mid-low spec in 2023, so with any decent system these days, any remaining blurriness can easily by dialled-out. Other headsets such as the HP Reverb G2 have even higher base resolution panels!
@@GregzVR Thanks for that info, much appreciated! Given the high res you've got, it concerns me how blurry things might be on the comparatively low res PSVR2. Or whether the dedicated software, various rendering techniques and 120fps of GFT7 can make the difference. There is no quality info out there on the performance of the PSVR2 on GT7.
I play this amazing mod almost every day. But I don't hear the pit radio. Where did you get that or have I just forgotten to click that on content manager?
@@GregzVR Thanks man. I will install it. Super cool. PS: Is there any chance to get some vintage F1 text layouts on the screen? Like vintage clock, etc? Keep up the good work, love your videos.
@@detonator2112 There’s an app called Sim Hub, that lets you put live timing graphics from multiple seasons on the screen, but they only work in real time with flatscreen gameplay, not in VR, which isn’t good for me.
Great video as always! Have you had any issues with the trees and grass being gray on this track? I downloaded the track via the link in the description and installed it manually (not through content manager).

All of those things, plus the truly bespoke combination of hardware and software will make up most of any deficit, that’s for sure.

It’s the Crew Chief app, linked in the description. It works with almost every sim out there. It’s great!

Yes I also had that grey grass/trees issue. I’m running the previous version because of that.
@@GregzVR ah I see. Is an older version still available to download?
Thanks for your answer 👍🏼
I uploaded the older version and updated the link in the decription. :-)
@@GregzVR spot on! Thank you very much! :)
god that car was awful wasn't it?!
I heard
What's crazy is that that's the actual engine sounds if you ever saw an actual video onboard of this car
@@fargeeks yeah, the sounds and sound mods in Assetto Corsa these are outstanding, better than any racing game by far
How do you get the visor cam look in vr?
