I backpacked the Pemi Loop in 4 days with my uncle shortly after I turned 18, as a rite of passage. It was my first real hike, and I underestimated what I was getting into. I faced many challenges and wanted to give up often, but I found the strength to push through it and now I have the knowledge that if I made it through that, I can make it through anything. I am 20 years old now and when my brother and cousin turn 18, they will embark on the same journey to prove themselves, and I might just join them. Thank you for reading this, and if you haven't hiked the Pemi Loop, I highly recommend it. The views from the mountain peaks are a display of the resplendent glory of Nature. I wish you strength and courage.
at 23:05 you can tell and feel that at that moment . we all been in that position , I Did Mt. Z one day and Mt. Maddison the next day in the midst of Covid in 2020 and I agree, it was easy to feel some kind of escape from what the world was throwing at us !! You GUYS Killed it ,, Night time is truly a different Demon!! Thanks For sharing !!! truly amazing and wish to do this one day !!
Off the top of my head I brought: 2L hydration pack/vest Few packs of Gummies/gels Fig newtons Salted mashed potato wraps Headlamp x 2 Space blankets Knife GPS watch, Apple Watch iPhone Small USB charger Blister maintenance kit GoPro, SD cards, batts Buff Windbreaker Extra warm long-sleeve layer Gloves Life straw
Doing this solo this upcoming Sunday, July 31st. Probably will chug a liter of water before starting and take a full 3L bladder and hope that lasts me until the galehead hut where I can replenish. Thankfully the hut will be open when I do it and fuel up on some brownies as well
Awesome job! I just did the loop solo this past Friday. You guys crushed it. It took me a bit over 18 hours to complete it (while also bagging one of the optional 4000 footers, Galehead). Truly epic trails and scenery. Couldn't agree more that the 8 or 9 or infinity miles it took to get from Bondcliff back to the parking lot were....gruelling.
I just did this loop yesterday! it was absolutely brutal, particularly the section starting up to garfield to the summit of south twin. thank god for ibuprofen and brownies at the galehead hut!
Great job. I have done 5 Pemi Loops with 4 all being CW how you went . Good choice . I posted two videos of them , and other clips for my single season fall. If you wanna do another I will be going again. Perhaps with side peaks

Congrats on finishing! It’s a tough one for sure.
What was the head...er...torso lamp someone was using?
Kogalla is the brand. Def came in handy on that ridge line
Where are those water spots when the huts are closed???
Hmm, I know the one you see in the video is fairly close to Garfield... I’ll ask one of my buddies who did research on that

Clockwise first water is essentially Garfield Spring. Then Guyot tent site . Then water crossings after Bond cliff
Awesome.

Great video! I’ve been considering Pemi this summer after doing the Presidential last summer. Now more inspired.
I’m hiking this in June and I can’t wait!
Wanting to do this too
Pemi is definitely on my 'todo' list for next year. Along with a presi traverse.
Did you do it lol
