Its more of an AMC trail crew thing to do the hut traverse as a right of passage rather than hut staff. The first month of the season is mostly patrolling ie hiking long days with axes, cutting down fallen trees, and taking note of what trails need the most attention. After this month you're in crazy good hiking shape so you do the hut traverse as a sort of flex.
Ah this is awesome. Loved attempt 1 and this as well. Keep on pushing! On a side note, as a new dad navigating running, stuff like the pemi, and also being a dad, this content really hits home! The talk over format is great as you get into some of the logistics etc.. on how this fits in with family, the summer, and schedules. So motivating to keep pushing to incorporate it all! Good luck on attempt 3!
Amazing effort and another great video! I love how you both acknowledge that everyone can push to reach their own accomplishment whether it’s H2H, half-marathon, 5k or one mile.
Great job on your second attempt , but really another amazing accomplishment. Due to gridding my attempt will wait until 2022. See you out there. I do suggest a Super- extended Pemi at 42 miles gives another building block toward H2H.
@@RunningWithCameras My current Project is currently at 419/576 peaks to hike all 48 NH 4K’s in all 12 months. Otherwise attempting faster Presi/Pemi’s . Weather didn’t allow for later season H2H. Next Maine to finish NE67.
@@joshuabrooks555 Damn bro. Just an honest question. Do you have a job? Or are you independently wealthy or have rich parents? I don't see how this project is anyway possible with the responsibilities of a job and not to mention a spouse/kids. Just curious!
@@landscapepros6755 thanks for the question. Just to clarify. GRID isn’t necessarily in “one” year . I completed my 576th peak December 18th 2022 (#136) having started February 19th 2019. So 3 years 10 months and that includes hiking shut down for COVID. I completed my HUT2HUT last July on a hot day (1am Sat to 12:16am Sun) in 23h 16min. As far as work, I work 50+ hrs as a Physical Therapist and am not independently wealthy or come from wealth. Living 1-1.5 hours from the mountains helps.
