Thanks for the video. Very good one. May be you do a part 2 with how to extend this to connect to a bluetooth speaker. As I have a bluetooth speaker and would really like to connect it to HA and play music through Music assistant as well. Or may be you guide me how to go from here. Thanks!
Have you ever used an ESP32 for home/away detection? I’ve been relying on Wi-Fi and GPS for this, but I’m considering using the ESP32's Bluetooth at my garage to track my phone to automate open/close doors. I’m just not sure if it would be more responsive compared to Wi-Fi and GPS.
apparently shelly gen3 have also a proxy functionality, however so far i couldn't make them relay other sensors (in my case ruuvi temp sensors) information on that topic is rather scars
Nice use for the ESP32 - thanks Question - I have a cloud flare tunnel with HA add on & integration to main location working fine. Now I wanted to add same scheme to other HA install in other location (using same domain known by cf but w another subdomain obviously) and failed. Do you have any process to implement this?
Unless you need it to be publicly accessible, I have another video on using Tailscale for remote access. Install it on each HA server and you don't fuss w/DNS or subdomains
very interesting tutorial. I currently have a device that interacts with an App interface via BT. This App allows (it supports both BT and Wifi connections) me to read its parameters and modify them when I am near it. Do you think that with your device I will be able to do exactly the same operations with the same App even when I am away from home? Thank you from Italy
The proxy extends the range of your BT device so it can be managed in HA. If it can be controlled in HA, I have a separate video on using Tailscale for remote access
@joycejetson thank you for your prompt reaction ! I have a PV with a Battery Management System the interact with its APP that through a BT connection allows me to read and change the BMS's values. I need of a sort of "bridge" from BT to Wifi in order to operate remotely. The APP support the Wifi also, so I nedde only to shift the infos from BT to Wifi. Is it possible?
Hi, great video! I was wondering if you could help me figure out how to emulate a Bluetooth remote controller for a Dimplex flame. I’d like to be able to turn on the fire via Home Assistant instead of using the physical remote. Is this possible? Thanks in advance
Great video and really well explained. I've often wondered what a BT Proxy is and what it is used for. Now I know.
Great tutorial
Can you do a failover Bluetooth proxy using two devices?

Have you looked into the ESPHome docs for ble_client.ble_write Action ?
@joycejetson no, I will check it out
A zigbee to MQTT gateway/proxy.
Are you a software engineer?
Yes, she is. Why do you ask?
@ in all her videos she explained thing very well. Very confident.
