HOW TO CLEAN THE PETKIT PURA MAX FROM START TO FINISH - OUTSIDE WITH COLD WATER! (UPDATED)
If you don’t want to clean your Puramax inside (like in a bath like in my last cleaning video: • HOW I CLEAN MY PETKIT ... ) I try cleaning my two Puramax automatic litter boxes outside with a hose, cold water, scrubbing brush, magic eraser, and some hot water in a bucket with sodium carbonate (Lectric washing soda)!

Thanks - your videos are really helpful. I cleaned mine yesterday -it was the first time since purchasing it so I watched your previous video first😊
I discovered that the lining can be taken out to clean thoroughly and dry both sides then clip back in. That stopped accumulation of moisture from water getting into the bit between the lining and bottom plastic part. Mine did have a small amount of urine that had leaked into the bottom of the machine but it may be due to one of my cats weeing against the side and it going down between the lining and side walls…it wasn’t much and was easy to wipe out but I will keep an eye in that!
Thank you! So glad I could help! I haven't replaced my lining yet, but it is definitley due!!! Does the seal stay properly sealed when you reassemble after you have taken it out after cleaning?
I also clean mine like that 😊 I just cleaned it today. I always take the liner out, give it a good scrub and then scrub the bottom part (my cats use to pee on the wall and urimo would come to the bottom under the liner and then filter and goes everywhere when the robot spins)
One tip if you cats urine is filtered: I place a pad (yes, a woman's pad) sticked to the bottom side of the liner, facing the part here the urine is filtered, i just replace the pad and its cleaned again ☺️

I never really see you talk or wash the mesh net on the inside. Because some of the staining and clumping that happens that's the part I want to see cleaned any suggestions?
Do you mean the orange sifter part that separates the fresh and used litter during the cleaning cycle? I use a bucket of hot water with a mild detergent and a scrubbing brush! With some lectric soda added in as well! I try to let it dry outside in the sun as well :) hope that helps!

Someone should build some kind of device to spin the barrels real quick with a handle or something so you would get any water out of them by using centrifugal force!
I think if u take the Mat out bedore cleaning it won't driip as much 😊

What if the cat climbs up on that drum? I am thinking of buying one, but my big mainecoon cats sometimes like to sit on the roof of the classic cat toilet.
My cats haven’t tried this so I am not sure. It’s quite curved on the top and could be a bit unstable/wobbly for a cat to stay on. I would say they would soon discover that sitting on the top isn’t wise! Good luck!
My cats love to sit on top of it. It doesn't cause any damage to the cleaner or the cats 😊

Thank you! There's an orange lever holding it in place. You lift it up to unlock it, and it should fold back. This lever lives under the removable cover over the top of the trash side of the pura max. Hope that helps!

Wow yours didn't come with the clear clear litter cleaner?? Mine came with it. I assumed it was standard on all of them.
I live in a condo so I can't clean it outside and I don't really want to do that 14:33 in my main bathtub , and I'm fortunate to have two bathrooms which one holds the cat box, but the faucets broken and I have to have it repaired.
I have not taken it apart yet. But I need to figure out how cuz I know it's getting yucky on the bottom and I've been wiping it as it cleans on the bottom outside.
I am using Crystal litter which I started using a little bit before I got my pet kit because they were tracking the lightweight clay litter I was using around it too much.
It's pretty good but I feel like I have to fully dump the litter more often. Maybe I will try some wood pellets.
I have been sprinkling some baking soda on the bottom after cleaning to try and help keep it a little drier and from the litter clumping and sticking.
Did you figure out how to take it apart? I just uploaded a video that covers this!!!
How is the baking soda going? Do the cats mind?
They didn't even have the dump litter function in the app when I got mine!!!
@@SamanthaRoseKing I did figure out how to open it. I have been using clumping clay & a little crystal mixed in to use it up. I don't think crystal is good for this box. It gets urine saturated and has to be fully dumped too often.
I just bought the petkit tofu litter to try & another brand of similar but did not switch over yet.
Have you switched it over yet?

@@SamanthaRoseKing I am using it now, I like it. I am staying with it even though it is pricey. There is a similar brand that is mixed with tofu & a little clay, I think I like it less, clay just gets too heavy & sticks to the bottom.
