I recall that when they switched from the Fiesta to Vauxhall Vectra, when I was working with Cumbria police in the early 2000s, they had an unmarked Vectra - complete with a single light bar and the word POLICE on the front doors. It was a strange sight, seeing it flying about.
Ah I saw this convoy on 5th May this year coming from South Worcestershire, Evesham direction, thought that odd X5 with the stickers on the side looked familiar I got it on dash cam.
Ah interesting, I presume the convoy is going to the prison near Pebworth (HMP Long Lartin). I think the X5 with those stickers is normally an unmarked vehicle but has been temporarily converted into a marked vehicle for the convoy for some reason
@@blue.light.fazbear Thought i recognised those markings! West Mercia use those stickers on all their marked vehicles now - presume they can borrow them from a central resource as needed. It would be a Cat A from HMP Long Lartin to Worcester Crown Court, etc. (as this clip is). Interesting on the rural roads they stick one of the X5 escorts in right turn bays to prevent the Daily being rammed by a vehicle emerging from a side road.
Yes, I think the vehicle with that sign was originally an unmarked but they required a marked unit but didn’t have any available so they put a police sign on it and a small light bar on the top which probably was removed after the convoy.
@@chrismanning746 right……..so everyone else has to wear one while working on the road, but plod can wear all black and that’s okay 👌🏻 hmmm makes sense.
@@aquanick2001 The law says they only have to be in uniform, doesn't specify that they have to wear a high vis. Although, by Home Office or Force Guidelines, officers would be required to wear some form of high-vis when standing in a hazardous place with minimal protection, except when the situation fails to allow it. The first officer that got out of the vehicle was wearing a high vis and my guess is that they were planning on only having that one officer get out to direct traffic. But the officers in the vehicle decided it was best to direct traffic in multiple places due to the junction being very busy.
@@EastSussex999 now, are you actually a plod, or just a geek that knows far too much about things they don’t need to. I’m not sure of names, but I believe they are the perpetrators of an incident that happened in Blackpole outside the retain park where a police car was shot at while trying to stop a vehicle, and they then subsequently crashed into 2 other cars. They are on trial for charges relating to illegal possession of firearms and for attempted murder.
Skip to 1:29 for the main convoy to pass by

Unmarked at the rear had blue side repeaters so will have had the magnetic Police plates for extra identification
That's 1st I've seen with the magnetic police sign on the X5

@Ben Chu I’m not sure, must be due to their guidelines or laws
All because the lady loves milk 🥛 tray
All those plods for the few and appointments for the many.
At times Westminster is a police village.
Taxes well spent?
Yeah, criminals have all the privileges 😀
Very awesome! I think I was there that day. Someone in the Cafè there was telling me about it but I missed it!
That is a great catch
Thanks! It was a Very fortunate catch, I never really thought I’d get to see a prison convoy
Someone probably made an anti trans statement or didn't pay their TV license :)
Kettles on at the local police station, as a friend of mine used to say. Response to video only.
camera movements are on point!
Thanks! Was a bit tough with loads of cars in the way and loads of people about though I think I got quite good video in the end
Just moving some Insulate Britain protesters.
Lol

A dozen boxes of donuts 🍩.

Such overkill. The Queen nor PM get anywhere near this even when the terror threat is at critical. To me it’s unnecessary. Great catch tho
Are you mad? The queen's convoy has 6 armed agents without the police escort and god knows who standing in the crowd.
Must be Driver Training
I’m not sure, at the time this was uploaded, there was a trial going on for something so I think that’s what this was for
Not a Cat A escort
