HELLO LOVELIES, I'VE FINALLY UPDATED MY WEBSITE! You all can find the written summary of Iliad book 21 via this link :) I hope these help xx www.moaninc.co.uk/homers-iliad/book-21-summary
GUYS. ACHILLES' DAD'S DAD'S DAD IS ZEUS. I was right the first time! So Achilles' dad is a man called Peleus. Peleus' Dad is a man called Aeacus. AND AEACUS' FATHER IS ZEUS. I was just checking this video over and noticed this mistake rip - my bad!!!!
Studying for my exam over the Iliad right now and your videos have helped me so much in understanding what the heck is going on. Seriously love the way you describe everything it is so helpful. Thank you lots
As a U.S. Navy veteran with an affinity to the majesty of the sea, this chapter/book was epic! I read The Odyssey in high school and I remember thinking it was great, but this is my first time reading The Iliad. I am infatuated with it! I will most definitely be adding multiple translations to my reading list. Can you please recommend further reading you think I would enjoy based on my love of The Iliad?
Helloooo - so glad you love the Iliad!!! Are you looking more for a mythological books or battle heavy book? The Iliad is really the best text that does both in one 🤓
@@m11jp «Xenophon's Anabasis» or «The Persian Expedition» Ιs a true story of remarkable adventures... The best book, (about the war and leadership) written before 2400 years... When you read it, you will wonder why this true story, was never made into a movie.
My favorite of your presentations so far is the one on Xenophon .Please dont stop what your doing , but when your finished with the Illliad, is there a chance you go onto Alexander 3 , that is , back to history . Realy happy with what you do .Ta
Hi!!!! So next I’ll be doing the Odyssey just to tie up the narrative of the Trojan war, but I do have an Alexander series on the back burner 😇 Thank you so much for your support ❤️
Dang I wished you’d do Ulysses. It’s a tough nut to crack, and not sure if you even are “in to that”, but I’m 100 you’d make it fun. Great job so far.👍🏻
I love this scene in the original epic but I also think the way Madeline Miller wrote this in Song of Achilles was incredible. Achilles seems tired and just a beat too slow, he seems to be showing his mortality and is having trouble keeping up with Scamandros. But he’s basically just “playing with his food” and lures the river into a false sense of security before completely besting him. I hate this term but it is…it’s epic.

Good comeback from your technical difficulties ... impactful video effects in the middle!
:)
21:02 I replayed this 5 times 🤣🤣🤣. "She is like what a F****** wus" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not technically in the Greek, but the tone is somewhat along those lines 😂
Achilles' paternal grandfather is Zeus. Duuude. Sweeeet!
Yaayy new episode!
The Trojans should’ve known they were doomed when they saw the Greeks fielding guys who can fight gods and literal f*****’ rivers.
A 👏🏼 LITERAL 👏🏼 RIVER 👏🏼
I will never get over it, honestly.
@@MoAnInc a river! It’s so weird but so cool! Meanwhile Diomedes is off to the side like “Pffft…amateur”.

Athena is so cool thooo
Achilles fights a river it means Achilles fought Aphrodite because in the River the spirit lives the spirit of Oshun ( Aphrodite)
When personofication goes wrong
2004 Troy would've been better with a magic river fight
❤❤❤❤
🤓
Sorry you had to refilm that that would be so annoying 😭😭😭
🫠😳
