Neither man did if you ask me. But David was still very childish when it came to love. He thought it was entitled and even expected to stray and to marry someone who is out of their league and not one to look for red flags. His brother should have been a better example although he did teach him a lesson and saved him from destroying Sabrina's positive innocence over the years until she becomes a cliche and is labelled an enabler and a active participant in Davids douche baggery. And his older brother was saving Sabrina from that fate as he saw her as a daughter type and he a Father without children but with wisdom and experience of seeing the fate of young women who marry men who are not able to commit and who feel like they are entitled to their exceptions due to their work and their importance and as that somehow requires infidelity and gives them the right to trust that is not questioned. I imagine Sabrina was happy as she was able to build a social life that allowed her to thrive and to be valued for her exhuberance and her quirkiness rather than slowly have it made something to let go of. And the older brother Linus lived to be 90 and they had a child or two.
