I used to visit my parents once a month (and stay the weekend), it felt worth it then. But now with covid, I have barely seen them at all the past year, so travel makeup hasn’t been a priority. I still have enough makeup that is travel friendly that “travel-friendly” isn’t a reason to get something.
As someone who’s makeup bag is the same tinted moisturizer and eyebrow gel for three years ... I can’t explain why I get so excited for Hannah’s makeup videos, other than the fact she is just a beautiful, amazing human to listen to. Thanks for the video Hannah!
As much as I love the idea of Natasha Denona palettes, they’re literally just too expensive, especially considering that they’re very hit or miss. I could honestly buy 3 good quality eyeshadow palettes for the price of 1 potentially bad Natasha Denona palette. You’d expect with a price tag like that, the palettes would be groundbreaking, not average.
Alter ego palettes, hon. I bought their Metropolis . Can't tell the difference. I regret buying my real ones so much, ugh. You really only buy the name.

I just had this argument with my mom about the little brushes in compacts. She is their advocate and only uses compact brushes. She also had the same Revlon blush for 20 years so she is a very specific member of the beauty community lol
And the formula isn't the same as the amrezi highlighter. They shouldn't have used the same packaging to make people thing it is. But I'm sure this helped sales

Okay, I'm a flight attendant and my "makeup for travel" is literally just mascara, lipgloss and concealer. I can't be arsed to wake up at 3AM to do a full face just to have it all melt by 8.
Thats so good to hear. Normally I see flight attendants with a full face of makeup at all times and I xant help but wonder what kind of superhuman powers they possess to have the patience to slap on a full face of makeup at such unearthly hours.
@@PersianPowergirl I only had to wake up one hour earlier to put my makeup on not to look like a Zombie. With time I learned to value my sleep and and do bare minimum. The longer in business the less make up and lower heels.

Okay so glad I’m not the only one who’s noticed a “sour” smell to the fruity B&BW candles. I thought it was me and my tastes changing when all of the sudden a candle I loved didn’t smell good to me anymore.
I don't have a great sense of smell, but after burning for a while the candles kind of smell like plastic to me? Not like burning plastic thankfully, but like the candle's scent and plastic. So I always wind up checking it to make sure nothing stupid happened like some plastic falling into it and melting 🤨
The only "travel" makeup I've bought in the last 3 years is the smaller six-pan version of the naked heat palette, and because I travel like once a year (and 0 times during quarantine) it's still in great shape and I use it every time
Just out of curiosity, you don't reach for it when just getting ready at home? I love small palettes and I grab them the most often especially when getting ready quickly.

Honestly I think about the winky lux cream blushes constantly... my local target has them up for display so every time I go in there now they taunt me. Like I KNOW they're gonna get destroyed after a couple uses but 🥺 pretty flower
They really don’t get “destroyed” as quickly as you’d think, I only use mine every once in awhile and it definitely doesn’t look new anymore but the petals are made very stiff so they don’t budge too much. It’s honestly a really pretty blush and easy to use, doesn’t deposit too much color right away but you can layer it to get nice payoff. Not too matte or dewy, just natural color on your skin. If you already have a ton of cream blushes, probably skip it because it’s not life changing, but if you’re in need of a cream blush it’s very recommendable.

Hey Hannah! That Anastasia highlighter actually has a gold shift to it! Michele Wang reviewed it and it actually was more gold/little bit darker than the Amrezy one. I would watch her video first and see what you think ☺️ (it wasn’t a dedicated video, it was one where she reviewed lots of different things)

Most people would imagine it’s icy white (because why wouldn’t you) however, it’s got quite a dark gold shift which wouldn’t work on fair skin tones and probably only on medium-deep skin tones, but those people wouldn’t know that cause it looks white! 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ who knows
it actually makes me really happy seeing so many people be a lot more mindful of their consumption and how they spend their money - not only with makeup but just in general. these companies and advertisers really had us all in a choke hold and i feel like the consumerism was so rampant. it’s obviously unfortunate the type of financial situations people are going through due to the virus, but i’m glad that it’s also giving a chance to spend their money more mindfully and on things they need or genuinely want rather than scams and gimmicks
I don't know about anyone else, but my makeup goblin died in 2021. He was just hanging on by a thread in fall but now I really have no interest in buying makeup. However I'm interested in seeing what direction the makeup community is going into now with the state that it's in
Actually....about that rose blush....I found them at Target and was intrigued, so I bought one. It is the most interesting product. It is totally 3D, not an embossing, and you don't ruin it the first two or three times you use it. It is a pain in the butt to store, though.
I find “travel makeup” is so useful for me since I go back and forth from my house to my boyfriends house every week. I need versatile products that don’t take up too much space! I can totally see how “travel makeup” sounds like bs tho haha just remember that “travel” can simply mean having to pack an overnight bag to go somewhere. Loved this video btw! Agreed, I fell in love with ABH palettes because of how well they function for travel, including just out of town for weekends/seeing family really quick retouch. many options to choose, but fit nicely in my makeup bag, and great mirror! a smaller version would be cool but I have quads and other small palettes for I should only bring bare minimum makeup, so I’m trying not to buy more, but I totally get looking for the perfect travel/touch up eyeshadow palette. :)

Natasha Denona palette is not out yet. This was release in a Sephora store, supposedly without her consent. She hasn't even announced it yet. I hope this comes out soon, I would love to pair it with my Biba palette!!! ❤💙💚

When I travel I don’t even take a palette. I’ll just use whatever blush bronzer and highlight I brought to make an eye look 🤷♀️ not that I’ve traveled in like 2 years...

I personally bought the Van Gogh Starry Night palette because I loved how they really took colors from the painting and made them shades in the palette...and I really love it!! Storybook Cosmetic’s formula is really lovely! The mattes are pigmented and blend well and the shimmers are stunning, IMO.
Watching this even tho I am NOT saving money. I have every single mini set and the core set of Jackie’s candles in my cart, skin care from Sephora, and some makeup from ulta in a cart.
They're powder, not cream blushes, but Milani has some rose-embossed blushes. I've had one for quite awhile and even though I've used it a lot, the embossing still looks pretty good and it's also a really nice blush.
There is a rose embossed powder blush on shopmissa.com from Amuse cosmetics that is also rose scented that I absolutely love, and it's only $1. The downside is that they are notorious for not having stuff in stock.
I love your candle of the day because I still live with my parents and my mum is scent sensitive so listening to your candle of the day is holding me over until I can move out and hoard scented candles.
I used to do my makeup in the parking lot at work because I had bad time management skills 😅 I loved and still love mini makeup that travels well! I like the versatility. It doesn't force my hand to buy something, but it gets major points if it's something I can travel with, even if it's to slap some makeup on my face when I'm running late!
On the point of the Dior brushes and the ones that come in compacts in general, I think people of a certain age do get use out of them. My mom relies on them for cheeks and eyes, though she does buy a separate brush for setting powder. I bought her some eyeshadow brushes for Christmas one year but she always goes back to the sponge tip. I think because she learned to do her makeup with those it's just easier for her. It's so interesting to think about how makeup has evolved over the years and a lot of it started with us watching our moms doing their makeup and wanting to try it out too

I agree with mostly everything you said, especially the whole concept of “travel” makeup. What I will say is that ABH highlighter is a pleasant surprise. It looks white in the pan but on my light neutral skin tone it looks gold and at times it looks like it has a slight green undertone, but it’s still flattering if that makes any sense. I’m loving it.

Ulta employee here. You are SO smart for skipping out on the ABH highlighter because 1. It’s actually like a white with a weird yellow shift highlighter in person and not an icy one like they advertised 2. It’s NOT anything like the Amrezy formula (it just looks like it and 3. It’s a GLITTER BOMB! My coworkers and I were so excited to search it before we put it on display and were so disappointed as soon as we did. It’s awful!

Actually....about that rose blush....I found them at Target and was intrigued, so I bought one. It is the most interesting product. It is totally 3D, not an embossing, and you don't ruin it the first two or three times you use it. It is a pain in the butt to store, though.
I find “travel makeup” is so useful for me since I go back and forth from my house to my boyfriends house every week. I need versatile products that don’t take up too much space! I can totally see how “travel makeup” sounds like bs tho haha just remember that “travel” can simply mean having to pack an overnight bag to go somewhere. Loved this video btw! My fav TH-camr to watch ❤️❤️
Agreed, I fell in love with ABH palettes because of how well they function for travel, including just out of town for weekends/seeing family really quick retouch. many options to choose, but fit nicely in my makeup bag, and great mirror! a smaller version would be cool but I have quads and other small palettes for I should only bring bare minimum makeup, so I’m trying not to buy more, but I totally get looking for the perfect travel/touch up eyeshadow palette. :)

@@dazzleddez1469 2 shimmer in my JA palette broke when I tried to travel with it. I managed to salvage them but now I’m scared to travel with it all. It my absolute favorite though!
@@nancyhernandez2271 I sometimes put my delicate makeup items in socks when travelling with them to avoid breakage, and even pack them in a tight back with my beauty sponges and fluffy brushes for extra cushioning. So far, no damage!

I just got the Lunar Beauty Eternal Eclipse palette. Omgoodness beautiful and love it. I believe this is my most favorite in awhile.
Natasha Denona palette is not out yet. This was release in a Sephora store, supposedly without her consent. She hasn't even announced it yet. I hope this comes out soon, I would love to pair it with my Biba palette!!! ❤💙💚

i skip most makeup because i can't wear most face products due to extremely sensitive skin, no one needs new lipsticks or glosses because masks, and i have SO MANY eyeshadow palettes
Same! I keep trying but ultimately 9/10 times I buy a make up/skincare product, try it once or twice, it causes a reaction for me and I give it away. It is atrocious how much money I have spent and not been able to use the product.

The ND pallet works with the “quadrant “ pattern. So each four square colors all go together. ALOT of pallets work that way. Hope that helps 😊
The ABH iced out highlighter is actually very gold base and isn’t as “icy” as some would think. Very pretty on darker skin tones.

I personally bought the Van Gogh Starry Night palette because I loved how they really took colors from the painting and made them shades in the palette...and I really love it!! Storybook Cosmetic’s formula is really lovely! The mattes are pigmented and blend well and the shimmers are stunning, IMO.
Watching this even tho I am NOT saving money. I have every single mini set and the core set of Jackie’s candles in my cart, skin care from Sephora, and some makeup from ulta in a cart.
Why is embossed makeup so overpriced I need the aesthetic 😭😭😭
They're powder, not cream blushes, but Milani has some rose-embossed blushes. I've had one for quite awhile and even though I've used it a lot, the embossing still looks pretty good and it's also a really nice blush.
There is a rose embossed powder blush on shopmissa.com from Amuse cosmetics that is also rose scented that I absolutely love, and it's only $1. The downside is that they are notorious for not having stuff in stock.

I love your candle of the day because I still live with my parents and my mum is scent sensitive so listening to your candle of the day is holding me over until I can move out and hoard scented candles.
I used to do my makeup in the parking lot at work because I had bad time management skills 😅 I loved and still love mini makeup that travels well! I like the versatility. It doesn't force my hand to buy something, but it gets major points if it's something I can travel with, even if it's to slap some makeup on my face when I'm running late!
On the point of the Dior brushes and the ones that come in compacts in general, I think people of a certain age do get use out of them. My mom relies on them for cheeks and eyes, though she does buy a separate brush for setting powder. I bought her some eyeshadow brushes for Christmas one year but she always goes back to the sponge tip. I think because she learned to do her makeup with those it's just easier for her. It's so interesting to think about how makeup has evolved over the years and a lot of it started with us watching our moms doing their makeup and wanting to try it out too

I agree with mostly everything you said, especially the whole concept of “travel” makeup. What I will say is that ABH highlighter is a pleasant surprise. It looks white in the pan but on my light neutral skin tone it looks gold and at times it looks like it has a slight green undertone, but it’s still flattering if that makes any sense. I’m loving it.

Ulta employee here. You are SO smart for skipping out on the ABH highlighter because 1. It’s actually like a white with a weird yellow shift highlighter in person and not an icy one like they advertised 2. It’s NOT anything like the Amrezy formula (it just looks like it and 3. It’s a GLITTER BOMB! My coworkers and I were so excited to search it before we put it on display and were so disappointed as soon as we did. It’s awful!
