I think the emphasis has been on “Well do they have a wide range of foundation and concealer shades” for so long that, that’s all some brands care about when it comes to diversity. But Black people don’t only wear foundation and concealer so are we included in your entire brand or only the parts that you think people will look at? Like we want blushes, powders, bronzers, eyeshadows, etc and we want them at a colourpop price too.

@@Zelda_Kitty yes the problem is that although they have a million different eye shadows and blushes, they are all meant for a light-to-medium skin toned person - which excludes a huge number of people. as another extremely pale person, i agree that while there are lots of things in general that don't really work for us, we can always put a very small amount of something too dark and it will still work ok. when products don't come in deep or pigmented enough shades, darker-skinned people literally can't use them. think about the last time you saw a bronzer or contour shade deep enough to function as such for someone with an extremely deep skin tone - even if a brand has a very extensive foundation shade range, they often will not have bronzer or contour that is even as deep as the deepest foundation. that doesn't work for deep skin. if a person matches the deepest shade of a complexion product, they can't even just use the next darkest shade for bronzer like any lighter person can. with blush and eyeshadow, if shades are too light or don't have strong enough pigment, they will either look gray and ashy or will not show up at all. someone with deep skin could get a neutral or 'smokey' type palette and the darkest shade might not even be as deep as their skintone, which is useless as a crease or liner shade. hopefully this helps. eta: a word

Now I see why) they really think black people will just take whatever they throw out. Disgusting.
@@GravityFallsUp I thought that the blushes were highlighters, I think that a deep berry and a warm deep brown would've been better and beautiful, Colourpop is not putting thought into their collections
About the Colourpop situation... I'm Latina, right between medium and deep skin. I've never bought a single eyeshadow pallette from them because most of the colors won't show up on me. I'm actually surprised to see so many white people talking about how much they love CP given the fact that all that I hear from the BIPOC beauty community it that the eyeshadows not only don't show on their skin, but also that the formula isn't really that great. I've heard the eyeshadows are very ashy and pale. I won't buy an eyeshadow pallette that seems to have only 2 colors I can use and will show up correctly on my face
Honestly, a lot of their colors aren't even good for a good chunk of white people. I bought from their Sailor Moon collection recently and selected the "darker" blush and lipgloss sets because I need muted/saturated colors. (I'm fair skinned; I often buy the lightest to second to lightest neutral foundation in any given foundation range. I mean, I'm white girl defined: blue eyes, light brown hair, pale skin with freckles) and I can't really pull them off. They're still too bright and light to look good on me. I could maybe wear them if I wore a light blonde wig and tons of foundation.
I believe the YSL "lipstick maker" is one of the Perso devices that L'Oreal (parent company) is launching. I remember them saying it was a breakthrough in beauty technology when I worked there. It's supposed to work with the Modiface tech they aquired that lets you customize makeup to your skin tone and try it on virtually first. I'm surprised they launched it separately as YSL branded device though
why did they name the one palette pandered towards my people “wild child”? why do brands always think of the jungle when they think of making products geared towards black people? it’s gross! like i like the palette and i know it would work for my skintone, but what about my people darker than me? i just have a weird taste in my mouth about it. when is enough? what happened to trying to be better about being inclusive? was that BLM hype last summer more simple pandering? i’m just tired.
even as a white person, when i saw the wild child collection marketed as dark neutral collection, I was like "so a collection for people with deeper skintones is an animal/jungle collection? A liitttllee weird to do."
I noticed that too. That’s so disrespectful to people with darker skin tones and it feels so half assed cause people have been telling them to be more inclusive for so long now and that’s what they come up with? Sad.
I used to pick off my nail polish almost immediately too because of anxiety and the only thing that made me stop was switching to nail powders because it’s so difficult to get off, especially the first few days you have it on 😂
@@akirner7 there might be better brands out there but my sister let me try some of her Rossi Nails powders (+ the start kit that has a primer, base coat, activator and top coat) and I really liked them so that’s what I’ve been using! I am so tired of colourpop. I loved loved them at one point but I’m getting tired of them launching new stuff every week, instead of restocking sold out inventory. It breaks my hearts that people with deeper complexions are excluded from makeup that they may actually have bought if it would’ve been made to include them.
@@em84c yeah eventually after I contacted them. Otherwise they had no plans of doing so lol. I still lost money due to PayPal pound to dollar conversion fees tho :(
The Anastasia highlighter got me for the first time in forever because there is this subtle gold tone that like shifted when they swatched it on different skin tones. Something about how it looked like it almost adjusted to the persons skin made me more excited about it.
No matter how much Wet n Wild and L.A. Girl step up their brands, I am always going to think of them as the dollar store makeup my mom wouldn't let me buy bc (she said) it was bad for my skin
The Tartlette palette looks fine, but I don’t understand why they named it “Juicy”. And then all the promo pictures are very floral. It’s confusing to me.

Can you please do an evaluation of the Kardashians video? You mentioned thinking about it recently and I’m really looking forward to it. (Mostly because I don’t know much about them or their history, but I’ve always been curious how they got to where they are today. )
There are a lot of American brands in these videos that I can’t get in the UK without paying way too much in shipping and customs charges. I’d come to terms with that. But now the UK has left the EU and I can’t get European indie brands anymore either!! I’m in mourning.
the anastasia highlighter is so pretty in person !! it's very glittery, but it has a gold shift and isn't just a whitecast. you could definitely find comparable highlighters with smaller brands though.

i love colourpops monochromatic rainbow palettes as a brown girl! i dont understand why they cant make all of their collections with that range + more. i would love to have a blush from them but tbh even those deeper ones dont seem like it would look good on me
No hate, but it’s so hard when influencers cut out shades that others would find useful, ie. the Tartlette palette. The shades you chose were on the warmer spectrum and wouldn’t necessarily accommodate all skin tones. I felt this too when so many influencers thought that the medium range of Beauty Blender’s Foundation was redundant. Some of us have needed those shades. 💕
I'm actually really surprised you didn't like that Violet Voss palette, because as soon as it flashed on the screen I thought it looked like the mock-up of the Tarte palette you showed earlier, LOL. I totally agree they need to branch out though. Everytime I hear about launches from them, it's just eyeshadow. I also want to say that I agree with you about Colourpop. If they can't start being more inclusive and not in a lazy way, I won't buy from them anymore.
Love the colour story of the Kaleidos x Angie palette! About the YSL lipstick machine...It does sound cool but I'm pretty sure you can just go and buy 3 YSL shades you like and mix them yourself either on a glass palette or while you apply them
I bought the Tartelette Juicy palette as well and I am loving it. I saw it and knew I'd get use out of most of the colors so I splurged. I love pinks, peaches, and browns so it was right up my alley.
I feel like brands whenever they put out a neutrals palette they should breaking it in to 9 pans with each pan being for a different shade. With this there won’t be shadows wasted bc dark skin buyers can’t use them and they would make more money on the girls that want to use every shade in the collection
Love hearing your opinions on new products! I also hear about so many new launches through your channel. And I agree that wet n wild collection... I mean, what is that?! Looks like kiddy makeup.
I would love to see a video on the most inclusive makeup brands! I’m Casper white, but I’m done with supporting brands who only offer shades for people who look like me.

haven't been this early for a video in a while, just dropping a comment to remind you that you're very much a blessing of genuineness! thank you hannah, you're growing as a person, as a creator, and im glad you share that with us.
Samantha's Auric is beautiful and I want to try her products so much
I’ve been wanting a liquid highlighter and if anyone can create a good one it’s Sam!!! I can’t wait to try her line!!!
the thing thats really making me side eye colourpop, is the silent removal of all deep blushes, highlighters etc on their site
Thank you so much for your kind words Hannah, I CANNOT WAIT to see it on you!!
the amount of serotonin i get from the yaaaas or pass at the start of the video is enough to get me through the rest of the day 🙏🏼
my GOD I thought I was alone in thinking periwinkle is the most superior color!
SAME! HELLO, fellow periwinkle queen!
I think loving periwinkle is like "fight club". There are a lot of us, we just don't speak of it for whatever reason.
(I'm sleep deprived but I love periwinkle.)
Another member of team periwinkle here!
🖐️
I don't wear makeup, but I bought the first Norvina palette just for the periwinkle shadow and packaging.
Wild Child is the name of the black girl collection?!?! K. I don’t know why I’ve never noticed that Colourpop was racist. Thanks for bringing that to light.
Tbh it’s not even a good collection for darker complexions. :/ The blushes are not for deeper skin at all and the palette is literally just the Brown Sugar with a pressed glitter (Brown Sugar was the only nude palette for deep complexions and they discontinued it. Now I see why) they really think black people will just take whatever they throw out. Disgusting.
@@GravityFallsUp I thought that the blushes were highlighters, I think that a deep berry and a warm deep brown would've been better and beautiful, Colourpop is not putting thought into their collections
@@nazarisreyes6037 yes!!! I’m pasty as snow and even I think the blushes on their site look too light. It’s ridiculous.
@@GravityFallsUp I'm in the light part of the scale too but I'm not blind and is obvious to me that their products are not inclusive for darker people
It has "jungle fever" vibes all over it🤢
About the Colourpop situation...
Not “I take every positive thing I said back”
😂😂😂😂😂
I believe the YSL "lipstick maker" is one of the Perso devices that L'Oreal (parent company) is launching. I remember them saying it was a breakthrough in beauty technology when I worked there. It's supposed to work with the Modiface tech they aquired that lets you customize makeup to your skin tone and try it on virtually first. I'm surprised they launched it separately as YSL branded device though
Hannah to Lime crime
“You had me in the 1st half”. 😂😂
why did they name the one palette pandered towards my people “wild child”? why do brands always think of the jungle when they think of making products geared towards black people? it’s gross!
like i like the palette and i know it would work for my skintone, but what about my people darker than me? i just have a weird taste in my mouth about it.
when is enough? what happened to trying to be better about being inclusive? was that BLM hype last summer more simple pandering?
i’m just tired.
Seriously. I don’t support any brands that can’t even make dark shades.
even as a white person, when i saw the wild child collection marketed as dark neutral collection, I was like "so a collection for people with deeper skintones is an animal/jungle collection? A liitttllee weird to do."
I noticed that too. That’s so disrespectful to people with darker skin tones and it feels so half assed cause people have been telling them to be more inclusive for so long now and that’s what they come up with? Sad.
Say it louder for the people in the back 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
THIS!!! i feel like brands constantly do this. can’t we just have something that people can and WANT to actually use 😭
"I love Holo Taco for my toe nails." Girl I have Menchie's color on my toe nails rn! Such a cute shade of pink and the holo sparkles in the sun!
I just sat down to eat. Hannah come thru!! 🙌🏽
Same 😂
You too?? 😂
Bon appetit everyone 😂
Same 😂
sameeee
I really needed this as I have been needing things to take my mind off the fact that I have tested positive. Sending you love from Indiana 🥰😍
Oh no, I’m so sorry🙁 I hope you get better soon!
Get well soon! ❤
Wishing you get well soon! 💗
get well soon! drink lots of water and get some rest 💕💕💕
Hope you get better soon!
“I pick at my nails like its my job” GURL 😂
Angela’s palette looks so lovely-I preordered it and can’t wait!
I used to pick off my nail polish almost immediately too because of anxiety and the only thing that made me stop was switching to nail powders because it’s so difficult to get off, especially the first few days you have it on 😂
haha I use a peely base coat so that when I pick at it, it comes off easily! opposite twins :)
Ohhh can you tell me what you're using? I gave up on using nail polish because I destroy it in about 2 seconds.
@@tashgrace2650 I tried that for a while but I just got so annoyed at constantly having to reapply it 😂
@@akirner7 there might be better brands out there but my sister let me try some of her Rossi Nails powders (+ the start kit that has a primer, base coat, activator and top coat) and I really liked them so that’s what I’ve been using! It’s a bit of a process putting it on and you gotta have some patience, especially in the beginning when you’ve never done it before, but once it’s on it usually lasts about 3 weeks on me 😊
@@EULFORS Thank you so much :) I'll look into it!
The "body milk" takes me back to "its body milk! Milk for your body" in Rose Apothecary😂😗
Can you drink it? 😂
I am so tired of colourpop. I loved loved them at one point but I’m getting tired of them launching new stuff every week, instead of restocking sold out inventory. It breaks my hearts that people with deeper complexions are excluded from makeup that they may actually have bought if it would’ve been made to include them.
the abh highlight isn’t even icy white,,, it’s basically a white gold version of the amrezy highlight
I own the amrezy highlighter but your description now makes me want the new highlighter lol
Tbh when I applied with a brush side by side, I couldn't even tell the icy highlighter apart from my Amrezy.
I was done with colourpop the moment I ordered the whole sailor moon collection and after 2 months it didn’t turn up 😌
Did they refund you??
@@em84c yeah eventually after I contacted them. Otherwise they had no plans of doing so lol. I still lost money due to PayPal pound to dollar conversion fees tho :(
Things have been really tough lately and just listening to you talk always makes me feel better 💗
I am ✨drunk✨ from day drinking the inauguration 🎉🎉 and this is a great way to kee the celebration going wooooo!
Michele Wang just tried the ABH highlighter and it’s actually yellow on the skin...it’s SUPER SHADY. Don’t do it. Love you! ♥️♥️♥️
The Tartlette palette looks fine, but I don’t understand why they named it “Juicy”. And then all the promo pictures are very floral. It’s confusing to me.
Agreed!
That Wet n Wild collection is bait for all the men dating women who like makeup
Color pop I’m about to unfollow them on Instagram because it feels like they use the same models aka the James Charles look alike. The dude is super talented but they keep using him I want to see more people than the same 3.
Totally agree!! Loving the Rare Beauty liquid eye shadow and gloss combo. Amazing
I have been bingeing your old “Trying to look like an IG model” videos, which was before my time on your channel. I LOVE THEM! Why don’t you do them anymore??! They’re hilarious!🤍
Totally agree with the lime crime, I loved the baroque esk packaging! It makes the whole expierence so nice
The lipstick thing reminds me of a very expensive sleepover craft for rich 7 year olds 😂what the heck
....... I would like to be a rich 7 year old
There is a 9 pan version of the tartelette eyeshadow! Over the holidays I bought a 3pack of 9 pan shadows from them (for me and friends to split). They had a 9 pan version of this, "So Juicy" and "toasted" it was perfectly curated too!!
Happy Inauguration Day Queen!
I spent this entire video absolutely in love with your look. You always look great, obviously, but there's just something about the shape and style of your glasses with the flow hair.... Stunning
Melt swatches suck but I freaking love the way they blend out and wear. Personally love their formula!
Alexandra Anele did the most beautiful look with the Melt blueprint palette I’ve ever seen😍
Thank you for speaking up about colourpop and the lack of inclusivity. I watch A TON of Amanda’s videos and she talks about it constantly!
I agree with the milk thing too like I don’t want to use a dairy product
Hannah blessing us with a hump day Yass or Passs! Thanks for making the end of the work day enjoyable xx
Let’s all say it together, “I don’t need anymore blushes and highlighters” 😁
I really don't need your negativity in my life in 2021 Kami
the anastasia highlighter is so pretty in person !! it's very glittery, but it has a gold shift and isn't just a whitecast. you could definitely find comparable highlighters with smaller brands though.
Contraption is the absolute correct word for that YSL thing.
I just started the first day of my last semester of college. I spent all day working ahead and I’m stressed. This video is exactly what I needed to unwind before bed. Thanks for the good content :)
i love colourpops monochromatic rainbow palettes as a brown girl! i dont understand why they cant make all of their collections with that range + more. i would love to have a blush from them but tbh even those deeper ones dont seem like it would look good on me
You are right Hannah. I have two blushes and two highlighters - that’s more than enough for anyone!
I’m in love with your new intro art and music! I think it suits you and your channel so well!
About the YSL lipstick machine...It does sound cool but I'm pretty sure you can just go and buy 3 YSL shades you like and mix them yourself either on a glass palette or while you apply them
ND PACKAGING IS SOOOO PRETTY
Whispers to self * I don’t need it, I don’t need it*
I'm with you on blushes and highlighters. Honestly, I receive them so often in my Ipsy that I haven't *bought* one in years.
I just love listening to you talk tbh 😂❤️
I bought the Tartelette Juicy palette as well and I am loving it. I saw it and knew I'd get use out of most of the colors so I splurged. I love pinks, peaches, and browns so it was right up my alley.
I feel like brands whenever they put out a neutrals palette they should breaking it in to 9 pans with each pan being for a different shade. With this there won’t be shadows wasted bc dark skin buyers can’t use them and they would make more money on the girls that want to use every shade in the collection
I’m not a fan of Huda but the 3nude palettes they did were such a great idea and if I wasn’t poor I’d probably have bought all 3.
Love hearing your opinions on new products! I also hear about so many new launches through your channel. And I agree that wet n wild collection... I mean, what is that?! Looks like kiddy makeup.
Hannah admitting to buying the tarte palette. 😂 That face.
Lol
The LA Girl Pro Masterty pallette looks pretty much identical to the new tartlette in bloom one. The formula on the LA Girl one is superb too.
The Natasha Denona blush/highlighter duo’s packaging is beautiful. The glitter hearts move inside the compact.
Your hair is so pretty! I think this is the first time I've seen you wear it down. Love!
Helloooooo🥰 happy Wednesday and HAPPY INAUGURATION DAY!!!
THATS A YAAASSS FOR ME
Wooooo congratulations on 400k Hannah I can't believe how far you've gotten! Love you ❤️❤️❤️
I would love to see a video on the most inclusive makeup brands! I’m Casper white, but I’m done with supporting brands who only offer shades for people who look like me.
You look absolutely beautiful in this video, I adore the way you do your hair now. Stunning!
Right after you said you pick off your nails every three days from being anxious I looked down at the pile of nail polish scraps I literally just made
i haven’t bought makeup in years but i love your reviews bc it makes me feel smart about makeup lol :)
These brands aren't even available in my country but I just love watching her opinions over the makeup launches lol
Wow, that Natasha Denona collection is super cute! I totally agree on using stuff that I already own instead of buying new stuff, I did a lot of that during 2020 and saved a ton of money and generated less waste.
