Love how even at a presidential honor ceremony, deadheads and even the dead themselves and their families are still jamming and dancing in the balcony. The long strange trip will never end, because The Dead is forever💗✌️
Great representation of america's greatest subculture band and a tribute to all the people who followed them so beautifulLook at the crowdEverybody was a closet Deadhead
It's cool how even here where the songs are obviously cut short and dumbed down for time, the crowd still kept clapping the Not fade away part as the commercial was coming on. Classic! Nothing can stop the Love ! NFA
Fantastic. A wonderful American music phenomenon and tradition that seems to be still relevant and strong... going into 2025. Good for Bobby, Mickey, and Bill. If you dont know the Grateful Dead, ignore the drugs, tye dyes, VW buses, and imho listen to: 1) One From the Vault 2) Without a Net 3) American Beauty 4) Cornell 77 5) Red Rocks 78 (of course others... would have their favs as well)
My first love was American Beauty, but it was the version of Looks Like Rain from Europe 72 that made me a Deadhead. All the ones you mention are great. But I would add Europe 72, and I can't remember which number it was, but there's a Dicks Picks with a show from Wisconsin in 78 that has my favorite Browneyed Woman.
idk bout where yall were but here in fla cbs cut it off n went to the damn news as latifa was introducing it. we didnt get to see it. so i found it n shared for n to my friends. nfa love forever.
So is it illegal.to upload an actual.full.performance from this or what? Because this page, CBS... Every single upload I've seen is just a partial song. Its like someone cooked a beautiful meal and you took my plate away after I had a spoonful of mashed potatoes.
as a representation of a deadhead, we all had our own unique way of dancing, even people that dont dance found themselves swaying and grooving...Imagine those dancers on stage...then imagine 20K people all doing similiar dances and that swirling mass of colors and hair was what it was like to be in the audience at a show. I saw them 165 times:)
Derek is a treasure

lol "listen to the music but ignore the rich culture that helped create it" wtf?
Thanks! I will!!
I enjoyed that the ending and clapping reflected what it was actually like to be at the show hearing NFA.
Derek Trucks + Sturgill Simpson HOLY COW this whole lineup is amazing.

And Rick Mitarotonda!
Trucks is All Time!
Dying pig tone 🐷 or the Dave matthews shuffle...I can't tell which is worse...😂

Everybody in that room at that moment knew who the best player in the building was.
its not a contest
@ no it’s not a contest - but it’s still a fact.
@@Topjunkie-r4s well hes probably the best in that room at imitating jerry, but hes definitely not better than bob at rhythm guitar
"Top Junkie" lol ew
@@OGRE_HATES_NERDS lol. Now that’s a funny statement.
2 minutes tho, the dead's all about the 10+ minute jams!

Jerry Garcia was there...Didn't see him? Here smoke some of this......😊❤😂
No Pig Pen?
he died in 1973
Where was John Mayer?
They should’ve played a grateful
Dead song like Bertha. Not a Buddy Hilly song. But they did great job
What is the gimmicky dancers on the stage for ? Lol

The guy is Miles Teller.
So DUMB!!!
A Buddy Holly song for the Grateful Dead? Huh
Don’t know much about the Grateful Dead huh?
yep the dead played not fade away, it’s not their tune tho. How about a tributary of their material!
Stop w the dying pig tone!! ...😂 Buddy Holly 1936-1959
Musically, who'd question Buddy, but this comes off more like an embarassing spectacle.
nothing embarrassing about music ever. sounds like you could use some live music Chris
I feel sorry for you, tragedy not to enjoy life. Go ahead and be a hater.
So it has taken over 60 years to honor the Dead! RIDICULOUS!! These shows SUCK.
Derek Trucks is always the star of the show.
