Hey, i started playing dune recently and i learned alot faster thanks to your vids. Im still learning my first faction (Ecaz) and your guide really helped. One question i had was why you said you dont build fencers. thanks in advance
Fencers are technically a flanking unit- so they are a good counter vs skirmishers, gunners, rangers, snipers, conscript riflemen... the issue with Fencers is that they have lower armor than your other melee units and less hp so they die faster obviously. Fencers need to be micro'ed so that they don't end up stuck in the middle of the melee troops. The general consensus is that those command points are better spent on extra musketeers or squires, since its easier to just micro two groups (your ranged and your melee)
@owlsquirreldoghorse nailed it. Fencers are almost OK, but are just not durable or sneaky enough for the job. The likes of fremen infiltrators or smuggler free company with their stealth are way better at the flanker job since they can engage unseen. Fencers can be targeted down super quick and easy. Meanwhile squires are so good and so tanky they're just often much better options for those CP.
Why the long delay before Smugs and Harks finally hit Corrino? I was beginning to think Shaddam had compromising photos of Tuek and the Baron with farm animals. 🤔🐑

With Mt. Idaho that close I would have made Lamur a sanctuary, Ecaz isn't as plascrete hungry as many other factions!

I think smugs were quite new. So they did a great job with limited experience.
Did you have a champion at the end? I think if you had promoted a champion in the end fight you might have been able to squeeze it out. So close ;(
I did not but I think I was likely still locked out. Takes 20 days after one dies before you can promote a new one.

Maybe could have forced the gov vote on corrino to take the heat off of uourself, leaving the game in a 2v1 instead of a 3v1.
