Sand around buried pipes for drainage. (And likely easier to get them to be nicely against the soil, as sand is more formable?) IIRC sand or gravel is commonly used when burying pipes irl, and nullius is pretty heavy on the "realistic" part :)
Was a mistake made programming the probes, or did someone deliberately set out to seed the galaxy with Biters? Maybe this is predicting a future where Factorio players, hungering for the most realistic mod possible, worked together to deploy Von Neumann probes and turn the entire galaxy into a giant game of Factorio?
i think the idea is that biters are a necessary part of the ecosystem and a complete non-issue to proper human settlements as in normal factorio you are just one guy who had most of his tech break down so the main human empire probably has like gun turret damage 8 billion researched
it's actually not that bad. the mod does a great job slowly teaching you/letting you learn the skills you need. I only launched a handful of rockets in vanilla and had no trouble completing this mod.
@@tekbox7909 So should i give it a try? It looked interesting but really complicated. I am now in Freigth Forwarding run which is great addition to vanilla logistic and then i want to try something different.
If megabasing is more your style, Nullius isn't going to be very fun, it's got lots of annoying tangled recipe chains that make it hard to build at scale. I think you'd prefer something like Krastorio or Space Exploration.
Heard 'won't get into that this episode' and forgot this was a supercut, then got really concerned for how long the entire series would be if this was just the first part.
Every time I see this video I think "I should continue my Nullius run!" and then after 2 hours of playing I'm like "i can feel my brains leaking from my ears"
oh hey! it's that Mod that adds a ton of elements stuff. I find this mod to be really fun in concept but it Really has to be implemented right to not feel too tedious.
Oh, shit, that one should be a bitch to edit... 180 hrs of gameplay into a 2.5 hrs playthrough - you did a really great job! Really enjoyed watching it despite some problems with the footage speed, thank you! Looking forward to your future videos
@1:05:30 Making calcium chloride directly is also a much more efficient chlorine void for this point in the game than putting the same limestone through the mineral dust process.
I suppose it would be possible to put commonly used things like pipes and underground pipes in the shortcuts in the bottom instead of going through the inventory, would have helped quite a bit
@@stinkystink9830 just take it slow! It's overwhelming as a new player to jump in and immediately think, "I'm going to launch a rocket." Eventually you'll be building rocket control units and researching the silo.
I thought this was "the Nilaus experience" which I guess would have been a play through based on the Nilaus method, but this complex mod pack is not interesting to me, sorry
I just realized, the sand could be for making the molds to actually cast the pipes in.
you are a genius
It's only for ground pipes. Straight pipes don't need it.
@@vidyagaems4063 you fill the pipes packed full with sand so they don't kink when you bend them.

Truly the Ryan vs OBS experience 😁

After playing seablock, Seeing the mineral sludge Just being discarded phisically hurts me
As someone who is a quarter way through my first play through of seablock, it does truly hurt
As someone who is addicted to efficiently using all byproducts in B&A, it drains my soul like an accumulator
byproducts and product balancing when u want the byproduct is the worst
Jesus Christ, factorio mods are something out of this world. I send thousands of rockets, but I can't imagine going through all of that
"Some" Factorio mods - mine are actually very basic changes to the vanilla gameplay, and yes, that's because I don't code very well

When putting pipes underground, you generally want to put sand or gravel around them, for drainage... So it does make a lot of IRL sense actually :D

Really poetic concept for a mod. Loved the playthrough!

It seems like the different turbines would be a cool thing to have as settings in basic turbines in vanilla.

@DoshDoshington, curious how you would tackel this mod
Mods like this remind me why you never go full AngelBobs.

First copper smelter in 140 hours?! Damn, unlucky seed
Why was there a power switch kill listed in the win screen? I'm way more curious about that than I probably should be...
