BIG shock at Royal Ascot! TRIPLE TIME wins the Queen Anne at 33s with Frankie & Inspiral in second!

- Triple Time narrowly denied Frankie Dettori a dream start to his final appearance at Royal Ascot in the curtain-raising Queen Anne Stakes.
Dettori, who announced in December that he will bring his glittering riding career to an end later this year, has a strong book rides at a meeting he has dominated and looked to have an excellent chance of getting the week off to a winning start aboard top-class filly Inspiral.
After riding a patient race, Dettori delivered the 11-4 chance with what looked a perfectly-timed challenge, but she came off second best after a tussle with the widely-unconsidered Triple Time.
The Kevin Ryan-trained winner had been off the track since finishing down the field in the Prix Daniel Wildenstein at ParisLongchamp in October and was a 33-1 shot in the hands of Neil Callan.
The son of Frankel raced keenly for much of the one-mile contest and having pulled his way to the front end he looked sure to be claimed by Inspiral, but found plenty once challenged to prevail by a neck.

This reminded so much of Frankel's early progeny's. They seem to have the talent but often pulled like hell. I wished I had put something on him.
He looked so odd, so green, when he was pulling and fighting for his head in the first few furlongs. What a surprise that was. Inspiral lost nothing in defeat.
Knew that horse had a big performance in him lovely looker and a quality pedigree to go with it, great training performance.
Inspiral ran a good race. I hope they try her at 10 furlongs in her next race. Modern Games seems to have lost some of his enthusiasm.

Bookies offering Frankie at evens to win any race on day 1 (was 1.4). That was the first clue. He looked weak today. He had a shocker last year at Royal Ascot. He’s under pressure now.

What a total act this race is, What a upset, What a bottler, no words can describe this race day all. Had a lucky 15 on all of Frankie’s rides today and this is the result of the first race. Unbelievable.

In the last half a furlong Frankie put nothing into it..If that was Ryan Moore No way would inspiral have lost 😡 the little So and So cost me so much money 😡
But this time last year many were saying Ryan Moore was no better than an arsewipe.
It was the slow early pace that cost Inspiral, not Frankie.
Why do people always blame the jockey when they have a losing punt?!
The pacing in this race was too damn slow
