thanks for hitting that record button even though you were feeling like death. Working when sick is terrible, working while sick and then keeping content coming for all your subscribers, that says a lot about you. probably why so many people have stuck with ya for all these years. hope you're feeling better and back on the mend now.
I'm thinking that Chris might have been an early candidate for Covid? It was about the right time frame and from Chris' own words he said "That's the first time in my life I've been home for 3 days sick"? But it's also a good thing in a way if it was Covid and he recovered on his own. Now he's got antibodies against it.
My grandson was so worried you going to get stuck that he almost panicked. I told him to wait and see and he was so amazed and his comment was. Papa he is so good can he teach me how to do that. Once again you made his day. Thanks
Sounds as though you may have contracted the Coronavirus, the "This is the first time in my life that I spent three solid days at home. " sounds like what I've been hearing throughout the year. Glad to see that you are doing well.
I remember watching you work this job and feeling bad for you as I was just coming off of being sick for 2-3 weeks. Went to Doc and they diagnosed me with sinus infection because I tested negative for 2 strains of flu. Then the coronavirus pandemic hit. I think i had that darn infection before it was known about.
Glad your feeling better. I got the flu here in Connecticut. I got the flu shot 4 months ago. So glad this challenging project is done for you. Keep more quality vids coming. Watching for years now.
Get well soon Chris. Nothing worse than working sick. Chris any chance of some more of your auction vids . They cracked me up lol. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for explaining the weight laws some. Many people do not understand them. And many ignore the weight laws and beat up the roads because they are over weight. This causes more road maintenance and repair needed.
Great video Chris ... glad you are feeling better now... I just don't understand why rental dealer's always put used crap buckets on new machines..has happened to me before and when it breaks down the dealer just shrugged their shoulders and says I dunno... while I have to deal with down time ! Take care of yourself buddy
Glad your feeling better. You being a business owner, I am sure it makes you feel good to know the others that you work with did a good job, when your were healing up.
Just shows what a determined worker you are Chris. Many people would have called it a day much earlier! Flu can certainly lay you low and best to give into it and have a few days off otherwise it hangs over you for days. Hope you are well on the mend now and look forward to seeing your next contract. All the best.Cheers
Glad to hear your feeling better. I had the flu through Christmas and new years couldn't go and see family because I was too sick and didn't want to get anyone else sick.
I know this is belated as I have been watching for the first time your older videos. Kudos, brass conjones, and intestinal fortitude to you for working thru all that. This goes for the rest of your guys. Great job!!!
Been watching this for days now. Man, you have the patience of a saint. THAT is like shoveling sh!t against the tide! Good on you, Brother! Feel better!
That's about the time I had a monster bug that wasn't the flu. I had my shot last October. Flu test was negative. It was called a sever upper respiratory infection. Covid was just barely on the map. I think it was it due to the symptoms I had. No testing was available yet. Worked through most of it too. Stayed away from my buds at work. No one else got it. Wife had it two weeks before me. Same symptoms same diagnosis. I guess we were lucky.
I worked as a Lineman for CP&L which became Progress Energy in the Dunn area. I believe they got baught out by Duke Energy after I left. Wished I could have crossed paths with ya Chris. The world is going to be in a real bind before long. Good, reliable workers like you are getting hard to find. Thumbs up to ya brother. God bless.
I haven't had the flu for 30 + years. Every time I've got a flu shot I was sick for about a week. Well about 2 weeks ago I got it. I'm getting a flu shot next year. For me it was bad. First week sinuses headache, you don't want to know the 2nd week. You have my sympathy.
Chris your as good of operator I have seen certainly got me beat and I been on equipment all my life. That pond dredge job was one of toughest I have seen and you did it masterfully most would have buried the machine. I am glad your feeling better it is tough having to be out there when your that sick. But sometimes you just have to do it because no one else can and the job must be done. I am retired now but on occasion I still am called on to cut and remove dangerous trees that is endangering homes and buildings. Just because my experience enables me to do things no one else will touch.
Back in the mid 60 , there wasn't Excavator yet, so then we use mud cats with real wide tracks, we also use like two D6c, that had like a hundred feet of heavy cable , pull the one cat thru the mud, it actually worked well. Dredging out pounds.
Kevin Schaffner I generally only watch the dredging ones at the drop of a hat, the others are if I happen to notice them, and have time, the dredging and pond work ones are amazing
Daniel Coates I watch all of them as they show up on my notifications, but I definitely like the dredging ones best...has a sort of satisfaction to watch them
wet sand is ridiculous heavy. i worked at a 1200 cow dairy they had me clean the sand bedding solids from the manure pit with a cat payloader into 2 gehl scavenger side slinger manure spreaders with large tubeless flotation tires. 2 flat tires that morning before i figured out what was happening
I'm glad you're feeling better. Thanks for taking us along, even though you were sick. Luckily my computer virus protection is up to date, so I probably won't get sick (see what I did there?). Thanks.
Seems like if it was allowed to dry some like it had in the second video (or wait til summer), especially with the fence gone, this might have been done without the long reach. Maybe they were under pressure from environmental and therefore justification for a premium charge for renting the long reach.
You got nerves of steel, I guess that comes with many hours of work. Great job and I know what you mean working and feel like death. A few times I thought I would have to get better just to die. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.
Glad to see you feeling better Chris !, Man, when you made this video ,you could see it in your face than you felt like complete Hell !! Good to see that you did take time and let yourself get better, like i said, that Flu going around this year ain't No Joke !! Hell, it's killing people....But, Great work as always Man !! Have a Great Weekend.....
that poor 220 is gonna need a day at the Volvo spa to recuperate . and yeah the far shot of the long reach laying back and the trickling water sounds are very relaxing . like a meditative vidja .
I bet all that sludge can me mined for platinum and other precious metals. If you think about it, there is a lot of runoff from roads and that all runs into ponds like that. With the precious metals in catalytic converters, it's probably there. Maybe the best ponds to mine are ones next to a freeway. Whether it's economically feasible to mine dirt like that is another question.
Not to change subject saw new shop you said partical board for walls I put sheetrock and painted 20 years ago its cheaper and let still looks great keep on digging
The body well only take so much and then it will take on its own rules, whether we like it or not... I am glad your better and thank you for the videos !
I don't like the way the equipment manufacturers make their pins these days. They are usually too small, only fastened on one side and often made out of too hard and brittle steel. We converted several, making them larger using 1144 stressproof steel. We had them made with a head on one end and threaded on the other so they hold everything together and shimmed everything up tight. The pins with a grease fitting are the most prone to breaking. We drilled the bushing area so it could be greased without going through the pin.
Yeah with the weight limit you was talking about I was moving mud off a job the mad loading me didn’t take in account of the wait . So with all that wait and slop mid it popped the chats on my truck dumping mud all over the road that was a long day
Quick question. When you travel with the excavator do you drive with final drive's in front or the idlers first. Just a question we where discussing at work. Thanks Chris.
Glad to see you are feeling better and if it happens again mix up some bourbon and honey in a small boiler get it hot as you can stand it and drink it all down I promise it will break it up and knock it out ive done it and another thing it felt like fire going down but it worked
That’s weird with the long arm excavator. It also satisfying because you can reach almost anything, like digging your neighbors cellar hole from across the street.
Do you get better ground distribution with two single wheel lift axles or on lift axle with duals? Must be a reason you see a lot of quad and 5 axle truck down south
I think this job in particular is a sub division sump pond, the city would contract the job. The homeowner who has a pond of this size woule be paying abunch of money though
Working while sick is the worst. I don't know about you, but when I am sick, I can't think about anything other than climbing into my warm, comfy bed in my cool, blacked out window bedroom and going into a zombie like sleep for 12 hours. Then getting up to piss, drink of water with medicine, then back to bed.
Did you get a bit of pucker when you started to slide, I did.! There were several times I was wondering if you were going to get it out of there, but you know your machine and it's capabilities. What FUN.

Yes indeed, Mighty gracious of you to do what you did through your sick time showing us your long reach project!!! Thank you!!
Chris,
Even with you feeling horrible, you manage to give us another great video. Thank you and glad you are feeling better.
hats off to you Chris for working and still taking video even when you're sick. Hope you fully recover soon! God bless!
He won’t if he keeps working!
He probably had the dreaded rona back then.
@@davidhakadoober._1- I think a lot of us had it that early and didn’t know it!
"broke it going home" yep, can relate
Very glad to hear that you were on the mend. Best wishes to you, sir. And thank you very much! For sharing these videos with us

Glad you're feeling better. Enjoy your videos and have learned a lot by watching you work.
Had it and still not over the after affects of the flu. I feel for you dude. Here is to a speedy recovery.
Can't remember the last time I saw your machine deep enough to make the tracks disappear... Awesome job.... GET WELL SOON

Awesome skills in the machine. Your like a surgeon with a scalpel.
Hope you get well and take care of yourself. God Bless and praying for speedy recovery. Amen
Sorry to hear your not feeling well, hope your'e better soon. Bob from the UK

hats off to ya man know how you felt "death warmed over " was just the same not long ago glad your up and around again
That was real relaxing watching you on the long reach and hearing the water run in the background. Hope ya get better soon Chris!

Thanks for the great video, Chris! I'm sorry your sick and hope you feel better soon!
Smooth operation as always, even when sick. Love the commitment and the statement - need to get this all laid back over here before I die ;)
Boy I was on the edge of my seat on that episode Chris. Glad you're feeling better.

Awesome job you've done Criss.
I even fast forwarded so you could go home early 😁
All your videos are great, but I’d have to say the dredging ones are my favorite ones

Man, you really have Big Ones taking A) the 220 B) then the Cat down there !! C) excavating with a flue. You're a tough cookie, bro !
I really thought you were about to get stuck but knew better.
_Can't recall other ponds you've dredged that had as much muck as that did!_
wet sand is ridiculous heavy. i worked at a 1200 cow dairy they had me clean the sand bedding solids from the manure pit with a cat payloader into 2 gehl scavenger side slinger manure spreaders with large tubeless flotation tires. 2 flat tires that morning before i figured out what was happening

Love the end of this video great update. Different to usual updates. Good work Volvo man 👨😎
Props to moving those mats with the long reach. Can get sketchy with heavy muddy mats

Glad Your feeling better can’t wait for the Next Job 👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You know what is sad is that there are not any neighborhood kids gawking the at the wondrous spectacle. We would have spent the whole day watching.
I would be there every day.
Camarata flew in from New York State to watch how real excavating is done
yep same here would have been out there all day as kid, now they just watch videos of it on youtube :)
Hope you get to feeling better. Been sick as a dog myself on the road trucking. Thanks for sharing you work. Love the vids keepem coming 👍
Glad you are feeling better Chris !!!
Hello Chris I am glad you are feeling better take care and don't over do it till you get back to full strength

Where do you go with all that slop? Stock pile somewhere or what? We struggle to find places that will take material like that
Heinrich Excavating & Hauling hey not many people understand that stuff will dry out and at that point it’s worth decent money
Hope you feel better Chris buddy. The flu sucks. God bless
What do you think of the Eddy Pump design for dredging jobs you get for really slimy locations?
can totally relate been there and done that,,get well soon..
I wouldn't mind to see a video of you cleaning the equipment.
Yep 3 to 4 days with this flu going around glad to here your feeling better
What is ballpark rental on a long stick pudding scooper like that?
Call your local Cat dealer.
@@briangardiner1015 Thanks
Hi from over the pond . Question , about what yardage have you removed in muck , from that retention pond .
Just got over the Flu myself it takes a lot out of a man. Glad you are feeling better good bye long reach!
Sure wish you make some playlist! New to channel....would love to see jobs from start to finish in one spot...tks
Glad you're feeling better! Had the flu a month ago and it sucked as the flu always does ! Lol
Chris, are you dredging this ponds? How did it fill in like it did? Get well soon.
Yeah with the weight limit you was talking about I was moving mud off a job the mad loading me didn’t take in account of the wait . So with all that wait and slop mid it popped the chats on my truck dumping mud all over the road that was a long day

I think this job in particular is a sub division sump pond, the city would contract the job. The homeowner who has a pond of this size woule be paying abunch of money though
Did you build the wooden "mats" that you are driving on? Any video on this would be of big help to me

Fair play to you for sticking to it as long as you did.
Hope you feel better soon ❤️❤️❤️
I am sorry you are sick Chris. Hope you get to feeling better.
Getting "the flu" in February, 2020... ruh-ro! Hope you got to feeling better soon.
Good job and glad your on the mend!
Thanks for the video. Glad you're feeling better. At least you got out of finishing that crappy job! Did they bring John a different long reach?
