Here are some materials I use. If you want to support me, consider purchasing them via these links.
The paints I use are 'Old Holland' from Dutch factory 'Scheveningen'. These have a very high pigment load and are very thick. This way you can add your medium of choice, without thinning the paint too much. I usually get 225ml tubes which saves about 30%. The tubes last a long time, on average I use about 1 225ml tube a year for each color. The set I use, in the actual order I have them on my palette:
Titanium white: 40ml: amzn.to/34lTQkH 225ml: amzn.to/3c9EjqR
Scheveningen yellow lemon: 40ml: amzn.to/2JVWMuE 225ml: amzn.to/2xYFWc2
Cadmium yellow deep: 40ml: amzn.to/3c3rpud 225ml: amzn.to/3aXmlaS
Scheveningen orange: 40ml: amzn.to/2UWmR3e 225ml: amzn.to/2Rmxwlp
Scheveningen red medium: 40ml: amzn.to/3aWu1dx 225ml: amzn.to/2xkaQvk
Alizarin crimson: 40ml: amzn.to/2V9kNne 225ml: amzn.to/3eaIrZi
Dioxazine mauve: 40ml: amzn.to/2JUxmxz 225ml: amzn.to/3eeIhQX
Ultramarine blue deep: 40ml: amzn.to/2RrAwgv 225ml: amzn.to/39SutYV
Transparent oxide red: 40ml: amzn.to/2Rkf5ht 225ml: amzn.to/39WSKwS
Scheveningen green deep: 40ml: amzn.to/39Rrsb3 225ml: amzn.to/2wwSPK8
Sap green lake extra: 40ml: amzn.to/2xk9ctE 225ml: amzn.to/2Vdv0zj
Ivory black 40ml: amzn.to/2JVYcFu 225ml: amzn.to/2UURoye
Occasionally I use a small amount of this very saturated blue/green, but I don't keep it on my palette: Scheveningen blue: 40ml: amzn.to/2ViAPLA 225ml: amzn.to/2RrCFZB
My standard medium that I've been using lately, consists of equal parts venetian turpentine and linseed oil:
Talens venetian turpentine amzn.to/3aVTBz3
W&N Stand oil amzn.to/3aUR5JC
W&N Linseed oil amzn.to/34pUpKn
Some brushes I use: cheap hog bristles for initial lay in, similar to these: amzn.to/2VxdYfL, long script liner brushes for details, eg. these Da Vinci ones: amzn.to/3a5Q0xb (size 10 or so). Other favorite brushes of mine are Rosemarys bristles, and Talens Van Gogh round ox hair brushes.
An absolutely beautiful painting with exquisite color. Thank you for sharing your process.
ABSOLUTELY GOOD
Gran maestra!! hermoso!!😊
Final stroks were realy master like. Ammazing skill. Stay blessed.
Stunning! Thanks for sharing!
you are talented. and your usage of color is really good. compliments.
Perfect!!
Sublime work! Bach matches the art of still life very well (by the way, you're remarkable at your craft. As good as anyone!)!
thnx ! Yes I also like the music. Unfortunately there doesnt seem to be much of it left in the youtube library (for using with movies)...
Please.
hello, maybe one day I will. In the meantime you could have a look at the books of Helen van Wyck on color mixing..
So lovely! Do you intentionally work on your focal point first? Also, could you tell me what kind of board you are painting on?
thhx! No not really, but sometimes I first work on fruit if that decays quickly, or I pick the extremes in value and saturation to start with. The board is tempered hardboard...
Damn that is beautiful. Do you get your paintings done in one sitting?
thnx! Well It was painted mostly wet into wet, but I use a very slow medium, so I can paint a week wet into wet...
Have you changed your medium from half Liquin, half stand oil... which takes a day to dry. Lovely work.
you are very very good
hello can you mention the name of colors used for the background and the blue color for the table ? nice painting
Hello, I dont use a lot of colors. For grey (background) I use: ivory black, titanium white, transparant oxide red (old holland). For the blues: ultramarine deep, scheveningen green deep,, transparent oxide red, titanium white, ivory black....
o h yes and when it was dry, I glazed the backround with some scheveningen green deep and alizarine crimson
awesome!!
i have a question.
what medium do you use on this?
hello, I dont really remember specifically. But normally I use various mixtures of stand oil, venice turpentine and maybe linseed oil (eg equal parts)
How much time dose it take from you to finish tha painting?
hello, I'm not entirely sure but maybe 2 weeks of regular working hours.. (breaks etc included)
oil painting is a painstaking process.that's why my paintings are not good.i look to much for instant gradification.need to be more patient and work harder.that bottle is a dutch horse hoof rum bottle from 1690-1710.
is it acrylic?
OIL
