    I’m 62 and I proudly tell everyone my age without being asked, and that’s because I love who I am at this stage in my life. Its liberating to grow old feeling great. Thank you Jesus ❤️🙏😊

    I proudly tell ppl my age when asked and could care less if they start age profiling me. Who cares! I take great care of myself physically & mentally, gain wisdom and confidence as I've aged. Own your age and be proud of it!

    What women and the world is missing is feminine energy, we need to value and embrace the wisdom, love and nurture of the feminine essence in all of us but specially women since we have been denied our feminine nature. Its ok to be a woman, a feminine woman ❤

    She is 45 been married 2 times. She should say her age and be thankful that she is still on the earth. She has 2 children. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓

      I never got that she wasn’t thankful to be alive, but that she is doing something for her health that is working for her.

      Unsolicited advice, i.e. women telling other women what they "should" think/feel/say/do can be just as patronising as men doing it to women - if not more. She's clearly able to articulate why she doesn't want to confirm her age.

    Great conversation! Thanks to both. The importance of a daily self-care routine is so underestimated.

    Re emotions, I will say this: carnivore eating changed my brain and my mood swings are gone, I don’t cry at the drop of a hat anymore, I’m not feeling anxious, I’m more organized with my thoughts. This is an example of how instead of treating my symptoms, I did something to correct them. Apparently carbohydrates from plants is what caused my emotional and thinking disorders.

    What about this: my mantra for all transitions, apparent growth opportunities, "I can't wait to see who/what I will be on the other side of this!" All the feels of self empowerment! ❤

    Too often, people believe that when they hit a certain age, that it’s all downhill until death. They live the last years of their lives waiting to die. I am 56 now. Before eating carnivore and intermittent fasting, I felt like the best years of my life were over, but my life changed 180* this past year. I am playing by different rules. I see another 70 more years for me to enjoy and my body is renewing and feeling younger.

    The age thing is weird, people get weird about this number that represents how many years we've been blessed with so far. My daughter asked her friend the other day, how old her parents are (they were talking 80s music) and the girl said she didn't know her parents ages. I thought that was so bizarre that a 15 yr old would not know her parents ages, I guess not their birth years either. I found it super weird that people would keep that from their kids even, as though it's a bad thing or something.

    • @jenniferg501
      @jenniferg501 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe the kids don’t care and it’s genuinely not a focus of importance…which is exactly what we’re trying to accomplish here, no?

    I stopped listening after she refused to give her age. I absolutely can’t stand women like this! Get over yourself! I’m proud of my age. Dr. Mindy should have cut the interview right then and there. Thank you Dr. Mindy for owning your age and wearing it beautifully.

    Sad she didn’t feel confident to just say her age when first asked. To avoid the question is to buy into the stereotype that age (or what we look like) matters. I want to hear women own their age, their experiences without hesitation.

    • @kellified
      @kellified ปีที่แล้ว

      She refers to her age at 1:58 when she states that she is now just entering into the 45-55 age demographic.

    • @silpadavuluri7533
      @silpadavuluri7533 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree . I dont like or believe in hiding age . I like women who own and believe in aging with mental gracefulness . Why are always talking about how youthful we have to loom. I like how Dr Mendy confidently owns her age .

    • @EmmaVoyseyHealthCoaching
      @EmmaVoyseyHealthCoaching ปีที่แล้ว +7

      She just wants to change the narrative! She isn’t “hiding” her age, she just doesn’t want women to be defined by their age. Or, to define themselves by their ages and society’s idea of where they should be, what they should be doing based on a number. These are two entirely polar opposites!

    • @masteringfibromyalgia
      @masteringfibromyalgia ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Rewatch that part of the conversation, because she reveals her age no problem, but explains the new concept to her about not defining herself by her age. We do use our age to compare ourselves to other women.

    • @coTMH14571
      @coTMH14571 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it’s fine… I got it. I think what she saying. She doesn’t want somebody riding her narrative as soon as she lets out a number. It’s definitely when there’s things that once you say you can’t take it back but it’s also not a big deal. I think it’s great to be loud and proud about your age also but I certainly don’t judge a woman who doesn’t divulge it.

    If age isn't a big deal, then why does she have such a difficult time stating her age? This reaction further fuels the age shaming. This felt contradictory and or hypocrisy 😕

    12 minutes in and I still have no idea who this woman is or what she's peddling. She is just talking abstract nonsense and it's losing me. Sorry Dr Mindy, not the best podcast you've done.
