In my experience, golden poet DOES double BUT! only after the current fight. It counts as a regular poet for the current fight, but the buffs it keeps when you come back to the tavern ARE doubled
Damage calculations: So dog had a phalanx with 12 pirates and a phalanx with 14 pirates. The hero power triggers the cruise controller deathrattle at the start of combat, so before any minion even attacks the pirates each have 1+10*3 = 31 attack. Opponents bird hit divine shield killing nothing. Dog's bird attacked, triggering cruise controller deathrattle for +2*10*3 = +60 attack, for 91 per pirate. Then the opponents bird kills the phalanx with 12 pirates, spawning 36 pirates each with 91 attack for 3276 damage. If the opponents minions were bigger then: dog now has 2 phalanxs with 14 pirates each and 2 barons, so 5* deathrattles. The next minion to attack would be dog's cruise controller, and it's deathrattle would give +10*5 = +50 attack per pirate, so 141 attack per pirate spawned. Each phalanx would now do 14*5*141=10570 damage, for a total of 13846 damage from sky pirates (and a negligible amount from the other minions).
So hypothetically if he had done the following, reborning the bird, untaunting the phalanx and combining them, getting another sky pirate or two so that the Chameleon would proc taunting them and putting the chameleons both next to the Baron then how much damage would that be?
You missed off the golden baron in most of the calculations. 12 pirates spawning is tripled due to baron and then additively repeated due to the second golden baron. So it’s actually 72 spawned from this one
@@wanderer5438 Each golden baron makes deathrattles trigger 2 additional times. 1 initial trigger + 2 more from golden baron + 2 more from second golden baron = 5
Each phalanx had 14 deathrattles stacked, right? With 2 golden barons that's 70 triggers from each, so that should be a total of 210 summons with 91 dmg each (or 121 dmg per, if the controller had died). So yeah! A bit more than 19k! More than 25k if the controller had died!
20:37 - The number of deathrattle triggers you get is linear in C = (#phalanx) x (1 + 2 x #goldBaron), so if you allocate A chameleons to become phalanx and B chameleons to become baron (with 2 initial phalanx and 1 initial baron), you'd get C = (2+A) * (3 + 2B). For values (A,B) with 2 chameleons, you get (0,2) => 14x triggers (1,1) => 15x triggers (2,0) => 12x triggers. So, 1 of each is optimal. Of course, since the phalanxes aren't created equal (14 stacks on one, 12 stacks on the other), dog's final play using 1 on each was extra optimal. Although if it were a mirror match and I were to factor in the chance of 2 barons getting sniped, maybe (2,0) would be the best play. (Bonus: at 91 base damage/pirate and 14 summons/phalanx, the pirate attack alone is 91 x 14 x C. With optimal chameleoning that would be 19,110 damage, so... we've seen bigger quillboars 😉)
Quailboar can beat this easily especially with how the T6 Aggem Thorncurse can pass gems to each other infinitely if you have three of them on the board. You just need to be super big. Throw in a golden corrupted myrmidon to get triple stats if you want to be extra safe lol.
Probably need to get lucky with whitemane sniping the barons and going first. Having windfury/cleave/illidan hero power will increase your odds of success.
@lutingchen8958 Yea, that could work but it requires RNG. You can dominate that pirate build with the Quailboar build that I mentioned. As a matter of fact, if I see he is below 12 HP, I will consolidate all blood gems into one golden corrupted myrmidon to solo his entire board to show who is the boss 😂
This has to be one of the strongest conventional builds ever. Like yeh you can hit 2 million stats with things like braggart or have an entire board of divine shield poison amalgadons (which the latter of which this build beats) but this build goes crazy. Murloc poison don’t do shi. The only thing in the current meta I think could stand a chance is ultra stacked beatboxer mechs but Idek this build has SOO much damage
14:09 - Is it straight up detrimental to triple the Phalanx here? All of their deathrattles combine together into one minion, and then you start fresh with a new one. But if your opponent goes first and snipes the Phalanx with most of the deathrattles in it before your Cruise Controller dies, you'll have much fewer impactful deathrattles to proc for the rest of the fight.
Once you get a few summon with this pieate comp the new 1/7 that give you a spell every 7 minions summoned is nice :D Only comp where you can milk a decent amount with him, though
that was sick. i love playin ahoy pirate builds. i don't play enough to have gotten a poet build yet but ima try, and lose in the tryin but have a good time
Having a 12 and a 14 deathrattle phalanx, double cham on the "14" one would be (12+14*3)*3=162 deathrattles. Double on baron: (12+14)*7=182. The way you did it: (12+14*2)*5=200. Max bonus dmg from controller: +10x3 heropower, +2x10x3 macaw, +10x3 regular death = +120 total. Max dmg potential 200x121 = ~24K. (In your case, where the controller didn't die the last time, it was 200x91 = ~18K). Kinda disgusting on turn 13 : )
so at 8:20 you can confirm that golden poet does in fact NOT work to with the sky piraye, if it worked it should have summoned 4 pirates from the phalanx deathrattle 1 from the sky pirate effect x2 from the golden poet x2 from baron = 4 but its just summoned 2, 1 from sky pirate that gets doubled from baron
The double effect is hard-coded for doubling stats, not amount of buffs themselves. Since the flagbearer effect isn't a stats buff, there's nothing to double.
He got the poet on turn 8, he had 14 pirates stacked on the phalanx by turn 11, it definitely doubles. I'm not sure why he only got 2 pirates on the initial turn 8 combat.
@@ashishkhatri2771 Wdym "it definitely doubles"? It clearly does not. Look at the small phalanx on turn 9. It spawned 6 pirates. The next turn it spawned 10. That's an increase of 4. If golden poet actually doubled, it would've increased by 8. You must be trolling.
Although tbf he did show the x10 flag bearing buff on the phalanx after, so maybe the golden poet does double but Baron doesn't work with it? Cus it makes no sense for the phalanx to have 10 death rattles and only summon 10 pirates instead of 20 even though Baron is on board. Idfk what's going on actually. Maybe weird spaghetti code interactions.
This whole thing is very bizarre. The display of buffs is bugged. The phalanx on the right summoned pirates consistently as if the buff was not doubled from the dragon. The phalanx on the left did the same for the first turn (turn 9), but for some reason it got buffed three times from the death of the right one and then those buffs were doubled by the poet. Then on turn 10 the phalanx on the right did everything well and the amount of summon was as if the poet did not double the deathrattle (again). Then the phalanx on the left once again had some shenanigans with the buffs, but this time they were not doubled (it got +2/+1 three times and then one more time after the battle for some reason), but the amount of summoned pirates was more than expected (at least 9 instead of expected 8). On turn eleven the phalanx on the left summoned more than 14 and the right phalanx got the same buffing bug as the left one had during the two prior turns (three buffs then doubled). Then after the poet was sold the buffs from phalanx's deathrattle worked normally (very weird), but the phalanx on the left still summoned too many pirates (at least 24, instead of expected 18). In the last round the 'bugged' left phalanx summoned at least 32 pirates (instead of expected 30), which should not have been the case if the poet does not double the deathrattle. The conclusion is that the game is buggy and the obvious bugs have been fixed, while the niche ones maybe haven't even been seen. The buffs from phalanx (+2/+1) for some reason were tripled, then doubled by poet, the phalanx on the right did not have it's pirate deathrattles doubled, but the icon of the buffs said "14 times", while the phalanx on the left did receive at least some double effects, but not during the first turn (turn 9). Very weird interaction.
