I believe the boys are meant to be protecting the girl in the beginning. In the beginning they show the young girl, and then the girls in the next frames have the same distinctive features at different ages. The boys are causing a riot in different settings where the girl could have been at different ages (her backyard as a kid, school as an older kid/teen, work as an adult, and in her home as a senior citizen). I think they’re her heroes that she made up due to bullying or something along those lines. I’m not 100% sure why they’re protecting her but I believe they’re a figment of her imagination. Of you look closely the other people on the room don’t notice the mayhem almost as if it isn’t really happening, that’s what makes me believe they are imaginary.
If we explore another theory it could involve Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) AKA multiple personalities. Usually people with DID develop the disorder after a traumatic experience (such as domestic abuse, bullying, witnessing something violent, etc.) and use the other personalities to protect themselves when put into difficult/triggering situations.

For those of you who are finding it hard to understand why some poc are 'offended' by this video put this into concept.
There is more than enough coverage in the media worldwide for white actors and extras however poc are rarely hired. Many of you are also saying this is a 'western aesthetic' yet poc are not featured in it as poc are present in America and western countries and as many of you know, Korea is known for finding the Western white image to be ideal beauty standards. For Poc, especially black people, it is frustrating when these artists use hip hop rap etc in their videos but refuse to acknowledge that this music originated from black culture and dismiss darker skin as its not considered aesthetically pleasing.
Please remember that if you are not a poc, or haven't faced the issues poc have with the media, stereotypes and appropriation you will not understand how important we feel it is to be represented. Watch the angry eyes experiment, it may help you realise.
Also for those of you who are saying it would be a misrepresentation of history in the 50s as this is what people believe it is based off, they have replaced historical roles for poc with white people yet none of you seem to care about that do you? Just a thought~~ for those who had read the theory about NCT-U's "The 7th Sense" being about revolution and loosely referring to "Animal Farm" (the story of the Russian Revolution) here's another short theory. "Fire truck" is most likely an allusion to Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 450" which in a nutshell is a story about revolution and waking up from a routine,mundane life where people are too numb to feel and society is controlling everybody's lives.
Its too early to tell, but judging from the teaser, the video shows people doing their jobs without any thought and being stiff/numb. This would help explain why the supporting actors are predominantly white as the main characters of Fahnrenheit 450 also are. This fits in nicely with 7th Sense's theme of waking up. As for the Animal Farm part and the Russian Revolution; there was also another clue. Many of NCT-U's stage outfits have random Russian words all over them - like Ten's red jacket with white wording over thw torso although I forgot what performance he wore that at.
This was a long post and thanks to these who listened through! I hope my little theory made sense and that it's not 100% wrong xD. P.S.--- another bit of info: the main character of Fahrenheit is a fire fighter whose job is to set fire to books
