An instant classic. It's such a perfect song. When I first heard it several years ago, I wondered where it came from and why I had not heard it before. It was a revelation to learn that Erika wrote it. I think if she had done nothing else but write this song, she would deserve to be remembered for a long long time.
Erika, Erika, Erika! What a song! It sounds like a standard, like it’s been around since the ‘30s. Great vocal, great interplay of the horns. Excellent recording.
Much thanks for sharing another highlight video from Tuba Skinny. Erika's sounds so wonderful. By the way the song is "Broken Hearted Blues" composed by Erika herself. Tuba Skinny recorded it twice first on their premiere album and later on "Blue Chime Stomp". Lovely Regards Dave from Berlin Germany 👋
I've run out of adjectives to properly describe Tuba Skinny's music. It's beyond. Thanks for posting John - tough environment to film in but the sound you captured did justice to the band.
fiquei feliz e impressionada de um brasileiro, como eu, curta essa banda fantástica. Quero voltar a Nova Orleans e ouvir essa banda ao vivo e a cores. Maior alegria da vida
While Jason's 6-string banjo is missed compared with earlier performances, in this instance it allows Max's somewhat under-appreciated work on the resonator guitar to be given much more audible prominence. (Bonus: he does occasionally play banjo ... ). And in my opinion, the arrangement of this song has advanced since earlier performances - but then again in real jazz, nothing ever stands still!

Erika, you ARE New Orleans. Just wonderful! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Wonderful muted cornet lines from Shaye behind Erika - brilliance all round [of course!]

How many Fleas did you count on that old guys head? That tuba man made it sound like a stand up string Bass. I liked the sound.
No wonder Erika "owned" that song. lol. By God, she wrote it!

Where are the lyrics to "Broken Hearted Blues"?
Не хватает Дугласа .
I got the blues with that bald head in front and center.
