you can buy from Bob Wells Nursery. I buy from Houston all the time but Bob Wells is out of the zones you spoke about it is in east Texas. You can buy from them online, including citrus and various other trees. I drive there because I'm in the Dallas area and it's only 1.5 hours away.
Hi, I live in Austin too. Where did you find the fuyu persimmon seeds? I searched all the stores and bought several persimmon fruits, trying to find seeds inside, but none of them bear seeds.
The Fuyu Persimmons at 99 Ranch Market in the spring and summer might have seeds. I believe they get them from a different source, and those tend to have seeds. It’s been a while since I’ve seen them, but they might have seeds when they’re sold out of season.
My favorites are JRN Nursey 2, Buchanan’s Native Plants, Joshua’s Native Plants and Garden, and, oddly, Hong Kong Market on Bellaire. I go to these places for fruit trees and cacti! 🥰 There are other nurseries I haven’t been to yet.
Paw Paw trees aren't tropical. They are native to Texas and all over the United States. They are deciduous(just like a peach) and do well on the ground. If they are under 3 years old, I would grow them under shade cloth.
Loved this tour, especially everything grown from seed. Thank you!
Thanks for the quarantine information. I didn’t realize Texas has specific requirements about you being able to buy citrus in the Houston area

I wish I could find a whitesapote tree. I’m the Houston area but I have not seen any white sapote
JRN Nurseries (1 and 2) has mature trees! I got to JRN Nursey 2 more often but they have tons of tropical fruit trees.
Which nursery do you find the better selection in Houston?
