This is pretty neat. It's very similar to what I had to do with using Hyperterminal or Putty on the Alerton side. Pay attention to that Com port#!!!!!! NOTE: Sometimes Window can change that port # and you may think it's still the same as before. Thanks, Tim and Amber! Love the humor!!!!!

any advice how to send data from micrologix to weintek hmi (MT6070iH) through rs232? I can't connect this hmi with micrologix 1200, however this works with Fatek PLC
The big things to check is your cable pinout and your baud/parity/stop bits.
Hey Tim, That"s the one I just bought, tries all com ports with this too and and configured the drivers and still nothing yet.

greetings exelente video please can you help me I'm working on slc 500 version 03 of cpu and it works fine but when I use cpu version 02 and I have communication problems my pc uses wondos 7 with servipack 3 and communication pic 1747-PIC por puero 232 in which these parameters can influence when I use the cpu 02 version thanks greetings from Venezuela

No, don't have anything on the 4 or 40, only the 525.

Excuse me, do you know How to do a connection between a Micrologix 1000, and slc`s rack only with Remote I/O Module and some inputs and outputs, I need that Micrologix 1000 be a master. I dont have processor SLC but i have rack, RIO Module, and some modules inputs outputs. Thanks.
The Micrologix 1000 can't do RIO so that wouldn't work. That PLC is very limited in it's communications options. Can you give more information on how you ended up with this configuration?
@@TimWilborne Hi, thanks for help me : ) ..I thought in that configuration because i don`t have resourses, only i have a micrologix 1000, rack for slc (without a processor), a module adapter RIO 1747-ASB, and some modules digital inputs and outputs for slc, and modulo analog outputs, I thought only maybe need a module comunication converter from micrologix to rio adapter to made mi project.
@@miguelvazquez8263 That is going to be a very hard road that doesn't have a lot of learning benefits. Do you need the extra I/O of the SLC rack or can your experiments work with only the Micrologix 1000?

Thats all that I have; I would like my project works with that, because i don´t have a more hardware.
Micrologix 1000 with rack´s SLC, maybe i will need a module communications between a Micrologix and 1747-ASB.

What do you need the IO in the SLC for?
I’m being trying to connect to a mlx 1100 for past 2 days but keep saying unrecognized device. I can’t ping the plc either but the plc has the IP address I assigned to it. I assigned the Ethernet IP to the PC in network manager, made a driver, rs linx found the computer but not the plc. Someone said I need to power cycle the plc for IP to set. Is this true ? What else could it be ?
If you can't ping the device then you're not going to be able to communicate with it. Period. What IP address, subnet, and gateway does the 1100 show from its LCD screen and what is your PC configured as?
@@TimWilborne I figured it out , I was using the WiFi IP instead of enet. Now it’s saying can’t verify processor ownership when I try and download. It’s a used plc and there’s a old program in it
