Before I knew any better, I did exactly the same by almost bare rooting the plant and lost all the 'Nana' I repotted. Now, having done a bit of searching, I know to hardly touch the rootball on the plant. I wish you luck with your repot but fear you've gone to far on the roots.
i hope that all the remaining roots can support all the trunks to survive. try to look about 3-4 pads and apex. but you need to take off the thick branch or make it a jin or do jins to every branches you dont need. the style in my mind gonna be an S -ish style with pads + apex.

I’m pretty sure you pruned more than 1/3 of the root ball. The tree did turn out great, but I’d love to see it six months from the day you made this video.
Junipers power is in its foliage so that tree will be able to produce new roots. The roots to foliage ratio is applicable to most other species but not most junipers certainly not procumbins. That being said he did take off quite a bit of roots but it's young so it should recover .
Yeah. Id be surprised if this little guy is still alive. looks cute though! I find it better to do the pruning one year and the next year process the the roots. Junipers like keeping old roots. atleast 2/3 at a time.
Hello, I have a quick question that I hope somebody can help me with.. Can a young juniper survive if there is a ring of bark removed from the base of the trunk? I bought a Chinese juniper (Stricta) from a nursery and while wiring it I accidentally managed to strip basically a complete ring around the base of the trunk, it’s about 1cm high and goes around the whole base of the trunk (😳) I didn’t realise quite how delicate the bark would be and I can’t find much online in terms of what to do.. Will it survive? Should I tape up the wound to stop moisture getting in? Any help is much appreciated!
Sounds rough! I guess you can try to cover it, but if the bark is totally stripped around, there's no way for sap to move up the tree. Hopefully it will be ok!
2 big mistakes right off the bat, you removed the soil from the roots and worked in the sun, big no nos, but i hope the juniper survived 👍 i look forward to an update
When are people going to learn about stressing a tree. Chopping off foliage then immediately repotting a juniper is the best way to kill it. At least wait a few days after cutting the foliage to repot
There is an update on this tree, check it out th-cam.com/video/1gTGelmr0p4/w-d-xo.html
That movement is really awesome! I'd love to see update on this

Came out really good with pot

Any updates on this? :)
We all wondering if the tree is still alive and no feedback is given 😂🤣😂🤣
extremely nice
Just kupchak see nemesis juniper king🤴 national show national 🥰🥰👍
Hi there... what's the update on this tree given the root prune ? 😊
There is an update on this tree, check it out th-cam.com/video/1gTGelmr0p4/w-d-xo.html
made it.. it looks beautiful in
Nice job but did you wire the tree to the pot?
I'm surprised you would do the rootwork, or any of the work really, in the full sun!
Doesn't look like it will survive. Too much foliage for the small amount of roots left behind.

That’s a lot of root loss for juniper

i would cover it with cut paste and hope it would be fine

En este video se muestra justamente todo lo que NO debe hacerse a un junipero, nunca se debe cambiar toda la tierra de esta manera. no no
Is this still alive?
Norsk?
Finne 🤗
Todo mal. Pobre arbol

This is really important, a great piece of advice.
Never take more than a third of soil and roots from a juniper at a time. I was cringing watching this.
Did this tree made it ?..reason I ask is I just did this to the same size juniper ..but it's on a bigger traning pot..pls reply
