Dave puts out strong serious content. Also one thing that stood out to me from the very first video is him saying you don't need to buy his gear just equivalent gear. This is different from the dide who sit in the corner of a cabin and push their specific product.

Thank you for covering all of this - This next year will be the first time I attempt hunting / trapping.

Dave, I've watched all your videos on trapping, but at different times in my life... I was interested then, but am so much more knowledgeable now! Like me watching your poor man videos back when you first started... you have much more knowledge and finance now... you have changed. You may say you haven't, but you have. We all do, it's part of life. There's more rich now, but also more poor now. Perspective, and how much you want to make. Think about that. Love ya man. Keep up the great skill of passing on knowledge.. in your case to the masses!

Good list Dave. I would add 6 smaller footholds, #11's or #1.5's. I feel they are a little more flexible than the smaller conibears. Here in northern Lake Superior country I'd add a few more 330's for our more plentiful (and tasty) beaver. Thanks for the info.

I use fenn mk 4 traps for squirrels in England, I also still use my 110 conibear traps I purchased from you back in 2011. 👍🏻

Traps just like our firearms, knives and some other gear are heirlooms if you have someone so inclined to cherish them. I have a 1 1/2 long spring Victor that was my Grandfather's, probably close to 100 years old. (first one I ever used to catch gophers)

In your future videos, maybe cover other regions as well. Like Northern and western for example. Even though you don't trap them areas. Still would be good information. Thanks for the great video Dave. Keep up the great work

I'm sure it's in the other videos
    but the uninitiated need to
know that any trap needs to
    be securely fastened to where
it can't be pulled loose without
    great difficulty.
    An animal can fight against
a trap way out of proportion
    to it's size.
One thing to mention is to
    buy extra triggers for your
    body grip traps. The trap
    supply places that sell them
    also sell replacement triggers.
If you trap long enough, you'll
    eventually come up with a
body grip trap with the wires
broken off. The M.B. replacement triggers were a
    little over a dollar apiece
last time I bought some for
    110's
The old video with the recommendation of having
    12 dog proof and 12 220's
is still valid for many situations.
I still watch the older videos
    regularly and they're all good.
Thanks for another great video. Looking forward to
    many more

Hey Dave, please add a call to action at the end of your videos, i.e. Comment and subscribe. I think a lot of your viewers aren't subscribed and human nature dictates that we have to be told what to do or we'll unlikely do it. I don't know if you have a media team or if you do it all yourself but please add that to the end of all your videos.
It will help you get more subscribers and views. I've seen other channels that aren't as qualitiy as yours and folks even with a crappy attitude have over 1 million subscribers and I know you're not doing it for the subscribers but from a channel growth perspective it's pretty important. Your channel ought to be the number one survival/bushcraft channel. Love your content brother! Peace and blessings.

I would add a few #1s and a half dozen #11s. They are old school but proven. I bought A dozen different sized traps at a garage sale for $20. What for those deals and you can add a lot of steel to your string.

A No.11 LongSpring set up in the Bank using apples for Bait will catch AND Hold Beaver,Lot of Meat but also Catching them to Transplant in Other Areas where you have Suitable Beaver Habitat where there are none ,take a Dremel round jaws weld some 9 Gauge wire on top to make it more paw friendly and a base plate D ring on base and non kink chain "18 or so.

If the springs on your conibears have latches, there's really no reason you should ever get hung up in them, especially with the dual spring traps. The two cardinal rules of trapping are 1) Don't get caught in your own traps, and 2) Don't get attacked or injured by the animals you are trapping.

If you’ve never been snapped in one of your own traps you haven’t trapped long! Accidents happen to everyone
