    Every Thursday my daughter, she’s 20, and I go to our favorite Chinese place, BEST AMERICAN/CHINESE FOOD EVAH!!!
    Crab Rangoon is our favorite appetizer!!!

    I love watching your videos. I'm still reeling from the hurricane, (I guess I had some tree limbs go thru the roof so I have water everywhere in there. I'm disabled so I can't walk right now so that makes it worse cause I have to wait for someone to help me) Fortunately, its an addition to my house that I use as my canning room and not the main part of my house even though it is still attached. Its one of those aluminum buildings thing-a-ma-jigs, I call them add a rooms. Anyway, it ripped the gutters off and made the roof wavy. I've been dreading trying to deal with FEMA to fix it. If they even will fix it. Your videos actually relax me and make me smile. I know the damage I got is nothing compared to what some families lost and my heart breaks for all those folks that lost loved ones and for all the hundreds still missing. I just wanted to thank you for the distraction you give to me.

    Those are shaped like dumplings. Our Chinese places make crab rangoons shaped like flat triangles. Just fold one corner over to the opposite corner and press closed. I'm going to try them! Yum! Thanks Tammy!

    I love Crab Rangoon. It’s usually made with imitation crab. Shredding it is better than chopping it up.. don’t put to much water, just dip your finger and run your finger down each side in a line. I’ve made them several times. I’ve never added worstershire sauce, but sounds good. I add garlic powder, a little powdered sugar, sliced green onions, pepper and just a dash of soy sauce.

    I love the fried wontons ! I love the imitation crab snd imitation lobster , I buy mine at Aldi’s it’s cheaper there and it’s in the packaged lunch meat area on the top shelf in my ALDIs !! I make crab salad with a tablespoon of each of diced bell pepper, diced celery and diced onion and teaspoon of old bay seasoning or to taste and 2 teaspoons of sugar and about 1/4-1/2 cup of mayo and a 8 oz package of the crab meat chopped up ! I eat it on bread or on a bed of lettuce with diced tomatoes , S & P to taste ! For the wontons I’d use the block of softened cream cheese , a package of the crab chopped and a tablespoon of each of the diced bell pepper , diced celery and diced onion and the teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning and 2 teaspoons of sugar , mix well and put in your wontons and fry until brown as crispy , you can use the sweet chili sauce to dip them in , found in the Asian section , it’s got a sweet little heat kick taste , or you can use “Duck sauce“ found in the Asian section also , it’s sweet without the heat !! I lover both hot and cold , and when I make the salad it’s best served cold , and I sometimes add diced jalapeño pepper in the salad when I mix it up , so good !! ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈

    We love fried wontons or rangoons, whatever you call them. They are called both around here. That is our favorite thing to get at Chinese restaurants and especially the buffets. This looks awesome. I can't wait to try it. I have never had the guts to make them. They've always looked so difficult. You make it look so easy. We would just have to have a sweet and sour sauce to dip them in.

    I LOVE these! Definitely a go to when I'm eating Chinese food. Those measuring spoons take me back. Mom had a set of those, and I can remember using them when I'd do some cooking, which wasn't a ton. Funny how just seeing something like that can create a flood of memories.

    I’ve made those before myself. I’ve used imitation crab, and real crab meat in a can.
    I prefer the imitation crab chopped up myself, and I add a little more sugar to mine also. I’ve also made a double batch and froze them in the freezer then put them in a freezer bag to have already made up , just pull out how many I wanna make. 😊

      Yes, our family has to have our fried wontons with sweet and sour sauce on the side. Some call these crab rangoons. They are also fried wontons. Shrimp would be great in them as well as crab. Our family doesn't like the taste of imitation. I don't know what's on the buffets ( imitation or fresh crab) because we love those fried crab wontons.

    As long as you're happy with the taste that's all that matters. I was married to a Chinese man for 17 yrs and he would make these quite often. He never put Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce in them. I don't remember him using anything but the cream cheese, imitation crab meat and sugar, occasional he would put in a little bit of minced up onion but not very much and it was almost onion puree not just chopped up.. I don't remember garlic or Pepper or any other seasonings either. He did use about a tablespoon of sugar to a block of cream cheese. I hope this may be of some help if you make these again. There's no right or wrong way to fold them either so long as the filling stays inside do them however you like. God bless 🙏❤️
    Oh I came back to add that crab rangoons are not a Chinese thing they are an American thing made by American Chinese restaurants ,not that it matters.
    The sauce he would make to dip them in was nothing more than pineapple juice and a dollop of catsup.

    I make a crab pasta salad with imitation crab and it’s so good!!! It’s just rotini cooked pasta, thinly sliced celery, small diced Roma tomatoes, green onions, frozen petite peas ( thawed) mayo, garlic powder, salt n pepper. I shred the crab into thin strips. It’s delicious!!!

    Ran goon. Yup. And yours look so much better than any other recipe I've ever enjoyed. Everyone else uses way too much sugar. That 1/2 t was so much better than the T options I've mostly seen/read. Savory is always better than too sugary, unless you're eating dessert. 😂😂😂 Thank you so much!!

    Your crab Rangoon looks delicious,and I also wanted to tell you that you can take the artificial crab meat and cut it into one inch pieces or a little larger and use egg and flour and Italian bread crumbs to batter them and fry.     lol I was wondering how many Buzz was going to get to eat. I am absolutely going to try these. I might just get a small can of crab meat you know, the little ones that you get to make sandwiches out of. I wonder if that is what made the difference in the sweetness for you.     Kathie says…You call ‘em what you call ‘em!! (By the way…they look DELICIOUS!!) I’ve always known that they were called “Crab RaNGoons”…but I sure can’t say it!!! 🤣 When I say it, it comes out as “Crab Rang-oons ” That “N” is a sneaky little trouble-maker!! I can’t say “RaN-goons…it makes me tongue tied!! 😳 We Love them!! I have never tried making them before, but after watching you make them…it looks “easy-Peasy”!! I make Pork/shrimp potstickers (dumplings) to put in the freezer, so now I will add some Crab Rangoons! I’ve tried making Egg Rolls twice and I didn’t like them. Our closest Asian restaurant sells the BEST Spring Rolls. They are so good that I will never try making them because they won’t even come close to theirs and I AM SCARED to try!! 🤣➡️🥢⬅️ I cannot eat with chopsticks to save my life!! Oh!, I Love Chinese (CANTONESE) food!!!! After experimenting, trying and tweaking with ingredients and techniques over several years, I make a delicious Sweet-Sour Chicken (or Shrimp). My inspiration was “Twin Happiness” Chinese Restaurant in Crown Point, Indiana (closed for several years now). Their Sweet-Sour (red) sauce had chunks of gently stir fried red and green pepper, onion slivers, a Roma tomato (cut into quarters, then halved) and pineapple tidbits. I kid you not…I have never had better…..so good, if nobody would had seem me…I WOULD HAVE LICKED THE PLATE!!!!!!!!! 🫣🫢🫢 xo

    I would have folded them into 🔺️triangles instead and maybe have used more cream cheese and used a little more sugar

    Love imitation crab and some cocktail sauce, so good. Not crazy about real crab. I like crab cakes and deviled crab tho.

    I cannot eat any kind of seafood so I have never had one of these tempting things. Why can't I use seasoned chicken or pork? I am going to adapt your recipe so I can enjoy them too. 😉
