According to me ,most of the Buddhist population of India used to live in present day Afghanistan, pakistan, Bangladesh and areas of up and Bihar so a very large population was wiped out during Turkic invasions

-According to historian Romila Thaper, the Hindu ruler, Pushyamitra Sunga, demolished 84,000 Buddhist stupas which had been built by Ashoka the Great
-King Jalaluka destroyed the Buddhist viharas within his jurisdiction on the ground that the chanting of the hymns by the Buddhist devotees disturbed his sleep.
-In Kashmir, King Kinnara demolished thousands of Viharas and captured the Buddhists villages to please the Brahmins.
-A large number of Buddhist viharas were usurped by the Brahmins and converted into Hindu temples .
-According to historical fact,When marathas invaded bengal and bihar,they killed & massacred more than 4 lakh civilans including merchants,textile workers and other inhabitants
There are lot more examples like this and i can go on
-So u cant say that so called hindu rulers didnt destroyed temples and massacred populaton and there was no code of conduct after war. Hindu kings were as worst as muslim rulers who fought for their kingdoms and expansion

In case if you don't know, with addition to the bakhtiyars and other ottoman invaders the followers of adi shankara, pushyamitra shungna and other hell bent vedic rulers killed buddhist monks massacred buddist and jains lay people so that they can re build a vedic society that denied equal rights to all and, all the experiencial learning that buddist and jainas provided, so that they could re establsish their supremacy.

Anica ma'am is very intelligent and definitely a star..very sound knowledge and clear in her words..however, there is one part that she is not clearly mentioning (probably because she is a Govt employee at ASI, so can't be so honest :))..the real reason why Buddhism declined in India was because of Islamic invaders and their forced conversion and violence...unlike the Hindu kings, Islam wasn't tolerant towards any other religion (especially around non-violent religions like Buddhism)..the burning of Nalanda and Vikramshila libraries was ordered by the Delhi Sultanate and Muhammad Khilji
Buddhism in later stage went in to wrong hands and most of the people started following tantrik side of buddhism and actually purpose was lost. Adi shankaracharya brough the society again in to sanatan dharma.

There's enough scientific evidence of meditation helping in channelizing certain release of hormones and parts of brain that control your emotions.
Go for Vipassana.. you will understand what is meditation 🙏

I think u should go for the easiest form of meditation for the century which is NAAM JAP MEDITATION i.e. reciting name of the Lord.
U don't have to think anything while meditating to focus, you just have to listen the names of Lord which u urself are reciting!
I must tell you the most powerful mantra which is Hare krishna Hare krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare!!!!!
108 times makes 1 round! No rules, even u can recite while doing work!

At that time there was no Islamic invaders. At some extent hindus were responsible. The book of nalnda was burning for 3 months and no hindu king restore it .and even throughout history nobody restore Buddhists universities it suspecious.
Adi Shankaracharya principal was itself based on vajrayana Buddhism because he was student of vajrayana Buddhists.
And he make his relegion based on vajrayana Bhuddhism mantra
That's why Ramanuja called him prachanna buddha.

The biggest difference between the two is Atma and Anatma....
Adi Shankaracharya was propagating Upanishidic/ Vedantic philosophy while the Buddhists were propagating different philosophies.
And for your information Adi Shankaracharya debated against the Buddhists , read his Brahmsutra Bhashya where he did the " Khandan " of Buddhist philosophies.
He was not a prachhan Baudh , these are just the false claims of the rival sampradays..

A Vedic person would accept Brahma as a external god whereas adi Shankaracharya said everything is inside you Brahman and Atman which is called adivita philosophy which is similar or copy of Buddhist philosophy of shunyavad + he made Shaivism on the mantras of vajrayana Buddhist he was student of vajrayana Buddhism .
Originally vajrayana Buddhism used mantra which he used in Shaivism . there are not fake claims Ramanuja called him prachanna buddha
