One of the best bands I've probably heard this year. My music preferences are all over the place but it seems all of the genres I love are present in this album. It's like I'm listening to The Fall of Troy + Protest the Hero + Chon with heavy breakdowns and prog elements which is sick. Keep it up guys!
Got hit with an ad for this band while listening to a new song, and the ad for them ended up being much better than what I was originally listening to lol so here I am now to say these dudes kick all kinds of ass with this album.
I came across the MV for Aesop on complete accident while searching for something else entirely, and clicked on it after the simple thought of "oh I like satyrs. Is that guy playing tennis? Huh. I suck at tennis." And here I am after a week of replaying that song, listening to Hands Down one of the most dynamically composed albums I've ever experienced. This is beautiful. Thank you Satyr, and thank you tennis. Can't wait for more!!
WOW, just found you guys. Instantly one of my top albums, and I'm picky and not really that much into math. Getting Protest The Hero vibes but yet with a very different twist. Yet also very early CHON(back when they were good). Loving how much soul there is to clean vocals and those jumping melodic riffs are superb! Your "Locus" is quickly getting there with Protest the Hero's "Kezia" & Today I Caught the Plague's "Ms. Mary Mallon". It's been just two days so far, my top tracks are Apogee, Peregee, Aesop & Levitator. This was out of the blue for me, but I'm loving it! Keep it up!
@@Satyratl though all these bands moved to other sound these days, but you caught the good part in your stuff, which I love! Wonder if you've heard Today I Caught the Plague's "Ms. Mary Mallon" EP, maybe that could give you some more inspiration, kinda close to your sound but with extra keyboard. Already can't wait for the next album xD
Holy sh*t this is sooo goood ! I can hear sooo many influences from band that I love and this is still really unique ! Awesome piece of art thank you !
Loving the full album, wow! Clearly you're doing your own thing but I'm hearing bits of Cynic in here; Blood Mountain-esque Mastodon; vocals that remind me of earthtone9.. and that's all some of my most favourite music. Thanks.
I'm also here because of an ad for another song. Which is.... well, not anywhere near as good as these guys. For once I can say, I fully and thoroughly enjoyed a youtube ad, from beginning to end. Amazing stuff guys. I'm gonna keep you guys on my playlist for sure. I was even thinking earlier at work, 'When am I gonna find another band worth listening to? It's been over 4 years.' ....Awesome
Michael Perez we actually played there just last night at Henao Center! We will be back soon enough. Orlando is so close to us and we have so many friends there in other bands and stuff.
@@Satyratl oh man, that must have been awesome af. I was working last night so I would have missed it. But I'm definitely going to see you when you come back through!
Currently trying to learn Picayune on guitar, I have so much fun reading the tablature, it is crazy but genius writing. A real challenge for me. One thing tho, need more tab !! I want to learn all of them !
You guys need to incorporate older prog bands ideas, such as Yes or Rush and yall will probably blow the fuck up in the metal community. gotta have those incredible vocal melodies though! THis is such a good record tho... Im torn between seeing where yall will be in 3 years and also see yall spending too much energy on the post hardcore aspect. Love you guys so much as a new band and i only hope yall have massive success
we take a ton of influence from first wave prog! Rush/Yes/KC/Genesis are huge inspirations to us. We just also like stuff like DGD and Fall of Troy so we like to combine those sounds :). Glad you like it!
Thanks for listening! ❤️❤️

God-tier album. My only complaint about this is that I'm looking for more
