- Talking about your art with potential buyers can be difficult when you're first starting out as an artist. I share simple tips for how to talk about your art with buyers. This method can be used at art shows, art fairs, and art markets or anywhere else you can find art buyers. It will help you sell art basically anytime you need to talk to a customer about it.
Talking to people about your art is an essential skill that all artists must have, especially if you want to learn how to sell art. I've been selling my art at art fairs for the past 10 years. I also sold my art at my art gallery for several years. So I've really honed my skill at selling art in person and talking to Art buyers. Watch the video to learn an easy method of talking to people about your art and making a profit from your art!

Thank you for sharing your experience and passion for your art. You even suffer in pain for it. You’re very knowledgeable about how to set up and run a booth for art fairs.
Years ago I crafted made-to-order ceramics figurines. We did a few art shows in some small town venues, which I found fun and challenging. Now, my nest is empty so I might try it again. Thank you for your inspiration
I also like the tactile aspect. I make jewellery & this is good advice ❤
Appreciate you! Thank you!
You are so welcome! And thank you for the super thanks! Much much appreciated 🤗
Excellent advice!!! 😊😊😊 Thank you so much!!! 😊
Excellent video. Wonderful advice! Thank you for all your videos! I binge watched all day. I have a plan! Yay! Rock on! 🎶💃
thanks for watching! I hope it all helps, good luck on your art fairs/exhibitions :)
I admire your persistence...it must be really difficult to succeed as an artist.
It is, but it’s so rewarding to try, on so many levels. I love being artist. Creativity is just the best!!
Thanks for the advice. I'm enjoying your videos. Fun to "meet" a fellow Midwestern artist.
Good to connect 🎨
Hope my videos are helpful!
Thank you for this wonderful advice! Very helpful and well-presented.
Welcome 🤗
Love the addition of the tactile experience! And I always ask if they're sort of glancing over everything, "Do you have a piece that stood out to you/favorite piece?" and point them toward all the print options I have if they don't seem to be in the market for an original.
Yes, it works well :)
Please tell 1) how to get prints made and 2) how to set up for the first art fair. For instance, on a budget, what kind of stands are best to have to hang wall art?
I’ve made videos on this!

This is going to help me sell my hotsauce. Great pointer's!❤
Glad it was helpful!
I’m hoping to exhibit at an art fair this fall.
I hope you do well :)
you are so clever! please tell me you can comfortably live off of your work 😃
I can, it is an amazing career. So happy and love running my art business!
@@KrystleColeArt awesome!!! I am now going to binge-watch your videos and learn from you 🍿👩🎓🔎☕
im an introvert but selling my art is different. Its not like school or the mall & y worie that y will be judged but people r there 4 the art so im more relaxed & want 2 show off my work
What kind of material is the board in the back made of? Is it heave cardboard or wood?
It is wood
Im an untrovert as well, but thankfully i've worked in jobs that required me to deal with the public and was interviewed on tv when i was managing a taxi company. So i can talk to people just fine. my problem is in selling. I couldnt sell a heater to an eskimo.
well, try some of the tactics that I talk about in this video, it will help. It's what works for me anyway. I found the best way to sell something to someone else to figure out what they want and then help them get it. So figure out what they really want to buy when it comes to your art, and help them find it in your booth. Be their assistant. Tell them the benefits, make it an easy decision for them. Show them the value.
@@KrystleColeArt Yes, having the attitude of being their "helper" in making their choice is excellent way to describe it!
I love creating the art. I don't like the business aspects.
There’s nothing wrong with just doing art as a hobby, super fun actually! ❤️
@@KrystleColeArt well it's a hobby business. More hobby than business.
How do you break from “over-conversation” from a non-buyer, so you can tend to other potential, actual buyers?
Good question, too much to answer in a comment, but I’ll make a video about this, look out for it in the future!
that sounds like me

I just comment this to help:
Your approach seems kind of needy or "sellsy", after you said "Oh, you like Capibaras?" you immediately jumped to a speech that 145.8% sounds like you are trying to sell me something and the client replies with wonderment NOT because they are truly impressed but because they want to be polite, they wouldn't directly tell you "Oh, I liked the painting but it's not that that impresive for me to justify the purchase".
It would be best if you only continued with the story about the capibara, that was a good follow up, but you immediately continued with explaining the stuff about your work, about how it was a hand made portrait, that it was fun to paint, etc which sounds sellsy. You should say that just after the rapport is built.
I think the goal is to dispel the doubts in the buyer's mind. They are wrestling inside their heads wether they should buy it or not, your interaction would push them into one of those 2 directions. You should only give the part of them inside their head that is fighting for the purchase the weapons to destroy the one that is fighting for not to buy.
