Very well presented and impactful. Been a musician for over 50 years "knew" a lot if this sure but the well explained and explored "reminders" are so helpful thank you!
Well done! Even as a professional artist, I can find myself doubting the current direction of my art, particularly when I am half way through production of a show. Your "C" as in confidence, is something I need to ever keep in mind. Selling the idea behind your work requires a confident tone, whether it is to a buyer or gallery owner. Thanks for this great video
This is so insightful. Thank you. I NOW realize I actually have a lot to say about my art and that I actually always had it on my mind all along, but that I was just not able to articulate it.
Thank you Sergio! a great reminder to have some stories ready - confidence that you are the expert is very helpful tip. We must have figured out the meaning or the art is less soul moving.
Great tips and structure, I really like "Meet them at the door", I've forwarded this link to the Art teachers at my school and will watch again at home to make notes for myself, especially turning my stairway pitch into an elevator pitch!! Best wishes.
Good information. Concepts I've heard before but packaged nicely in the acronym. A good reminder to stay focused all those 6 ideas, Especially the elevator talk.
Thank you, Sergio, this are very usefull tips! I will have an exhibition on Saturday, so I will think about all these points more. I have to think about the Hook, and I have to bee more confident, standing in front my paintings, and have to show my passion about my art more. Because I love my art, this is a big part of me, I'm a very passionate person, when it's about art I love, but I'm not often meet people, so talking about it, is not easy.
Sergio, after watching several videos from different artists, I can tell you that you rock like any other, I will use your tips for sure! Thank you and mil gracias!
I had no idea why I felt so frustrated about my art and how to convey why I made it. I really need to spend more time thinking about my art and working on my pitch. I appreciate this, thank you.
Watching this again from my home account and making notes. My pitches are more like taking the stairs so now preparing for the elevator! The hook seems to lead to Meet me at the Door, the biggest point that stood out for me as so few artists seem to do this, especially those doing more conceptual or abstract work and I think this leaves a lot of people feeling lost or excluded. Thank you.
I definitely need to work on talking about my art... all these points are SOOOO helpful, thank you for sharing them with us out here alone in the studio plugging away at our work xoxox I will listen again and again and work on getting comfortable with this and get more introspective about the WHY I paint what I paint. take good care and I love the piece behind you!
I give a talk tomorrow. I am sick. I have turned in the presentation, but I feel like hammered doggie doo. I am going to go in tomorrow with passion and confidence as the expert and hope for the best. THANK YOU!
I love listening to you lectures I can picture being in your presence and being in competition with who can speak the most!! Even though I have a lot to learn from You 😆
Thank you Sergio! My reception for my Art exhibition is this Thursday and this talk will help me so much!😃 I have some funny stories I can share about my whimsical art, FOR SURE!!!
Insightful thinking was exactly what I needed. I am a new artist and for the first time I am able to put into words what I make, why I make and why it matters! Thank you immensely for this talk!
Thank you Sergio, as always, so valuable! What resonates the most is "How can I bring value to them" Preparing for an artist talk in Berlin this summer :-)
You are a very interesting storyteller. I start watching your presentation and got spellbound. I could not stop until you had finished. Your information was exactly what I needed to advance myself with more confidence. Thank you for your high quality professional service.
Sergio maybe most of those points are inherent in my presence and talk about my art. Some make an Impact. But it helps to get exposure but, it takes more to get a good sale. I have done 58 INTERNATIONAL COLLECTIVES AND 10 SOLOS ART EXHIBITS SO FAR.
Thank you for the helpful tips strategies. "Meet me at the Door" is very insightful and will help me prep for my artist presentation. This is great and very valuable.
Hello Sergio and thank you so much for your video. I am going to visit the owner of a vegan restaurant and try and get my animal artworks up on the walls. They have many incredible artworks already. Barely a space left so I’m very nervous even though he sounded v friendly on the phone. I’m socially awkward 😱 needed a helpful video like yours. Feel more empowered. I especially like the I am the expert about my art phrase. Which I will be saying in my head when I walk through the door. I’d have liked to hear more of your own examples ie the story to tell Would make my understand ore concrete. Thanks again kerry ✌️👍🤩✨
I have found that long You-Tube presentations like this one cause individuals to click stop and move on. I like your info and you have some very good points. I think number one is all you should have presented. Then do an individual follow up series with tips 2,3,4 etc. I like hearing from other artists talking about the arts and their feelings and expressions created into art form. I am a photography of 55 years presenting in different media plus creating digital art from photos through the use of PS and several other apps. I look forward to viewing your other You-Tube presentations, regards.
Hola. Muy bueno me encanto.muy claro y ocurrente idea de integrar la palabra Impact Ayudas a entender el cuadro completo. Para mi no me queda claro y necesito trabajar mas en La letra T. Muchas gracias
I have a very difficult time with the overall idea of not telling what it means, especially when I'm also supposed to proclaim a mission. The mission is basically to get people asking questions or talking about the topics but not telling what I feel about it? I got this feedback all the time in my MFA program but noone offered a way to talk about it differently, and other students were clearly articulating their political/religious views when they talked about their work with no push back. It's all very confusing to me still. I recognize that the professors agreed with the worldview of these other students and not mine so there was definitely discrimination but I still don't understand the language I should be using to invite someone into the work without telling them what it means to me as the artist.
I recommend this video I did recently about not sharing the meaning of the art but instead talk about stories. check it out: th-cam.com/users/liveThxMgEyYNMA?si=9g2q6is5ZXTJmnVU
Awesome video thanks, I don't have an elevator speech but I have an old artist statement that I should totally update, also I need to think of stories to share whenever I make exhibitions and stuff because I usually just stand there very shyly. What would be your advice for someone whose art motives are, let say, not suitable for everyone, for instance, someone whose art speech is a critique to religion. Should he/she be honest about it even if some people will get triggered, or should the speech be "disguised" or "diluted"? Thanks!
Hi Anlo, it is all about how you say it. It is ok to disagree with someone as long as you also respect their opinion when it comes to talking about your art.

Thanks for watching!!
Thank You so much, I have a story for each of my Art Piece's, as I realise, thank you again for your advice.
I liked hearing about the hook….a way to engage the listener with their own experience. Also reduce the distance between your art and your audience.
Yes totally. Thanks for watching
This is so insightful. Thank you. I NOW realize I actually have a lot to say about my art and that I actually always had it on my mind all along, but that I was just not able to articulate it.
Talking about your art is an art in itself. Thank you for sharing all these tips!
Thank you
Thank you Sergio! a great reminder to have some stories ready - confidence that you are the expert is very helpful tip. We must have figured out the meaning or the art is less soul moving.
Thanks for watching. I agree, it's about connecting with others through your art.
Thank you Segio! Very useful information.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for sharing!!
Great talk thanks Sergio . As an artist with low vision and colour blindness good reminder to be cofident in my unique work
Good information. Concepts I've heard before but packaged nicely in the acronym. A good reminder to stay focused all those 6 ideas, Especially the elevator talk.

Great video! 'Insightful thinking' was the best tip for me!

Very cool. Happy to hear these were helpful.

Awesome, thank you!
I had no idea why I felt so frustrated about my art and how to convey why I made it. I really need to spend more time thinking about my art and working on my pitch. I appreciate this, thank you.
Great, Thanks for watching
I can’t tell you how helpful this is to me. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful :)
Such a great lesson Sergio. I have that underlined in my notes, “ I am the expert”! Must remember that…..
Great point, remember to own your knowledge.
Watching this again from my home account and making notes. My pitches are more like taking the stairs so now preparing for the elevator! Happy to help. My best advice is to keep it simple. If the message gets too hard to explain, people will get lost and not pay attention
I will certantly work on remembering story telling, great tip. Thank you for this, loved it.
i wish i have learned about this many years ago...thanks Sergio!!!
My pleasure!! Thanks for watching

Meet Me At The Door was the most useful. The others I feel more aware of - but always good to be reminded! thanks Sergio :)

Insightful thinking was exactly what I needed. I am a new artist and for the first time I am able to put into words what I make, why I make and why it matters! Thank you immensely for this talk!

That you so much!! Thanks for watching the video. Please share it with your friends.
How would I apply this when i am writting about my art? And especially for when I am being graded on it, in a university setting?
No, never thought about it. Need to do this.

This is wonderful and helpful Thank you.
I have an artist statement, but not an elevator pitch or a hook. I definitely will be working on both..
I kind of feel like my story telling needs work. I have never thought myself to be very skillful in that area.
So worth having as a reference
thanks!!!

Yes, I have a hook, a story, but then I think I talk too much, so I like the idea of a common idea and asking them a question....
