Great video and advice! I did this to my cucumber plant and pollenated them using a small brush. Also using the brush for my zucchini and squash plant. I do this in the morning. This insures that there is maximum harvest. Just in case the bees were not able to pollenate.
Im doing this for the first time this year because the last 2 years we have had yellow rotting fruits and my parents didnt do their homework on how to fix it, this helped me immensely! but one thing im not finding anywhere is how often do i have to hand pollinate? Everyone talks about the how and why but not saying how often, do you do this. Only once or multiple times throughout the plant production?
That's a great question... You'll do this process once for each fruit. Each female flower will potentially produce one squash or zucchini. So for every female flower you have you will collect pollen from one or more male flowers to pollinate it. The flowers are only open for less than a day and then can no longer be pollinated. This means that during the height of the growing season you'll check each morning for open female flowers and pollinate them before they close. It can be a lot of work if you have many plants, and it's kind of a daily process while the plants are producing. With all that said, once you've pollinated a flower, you don't need to do anything else to that specific flower again. It's one time per female flower. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for watching 😊🌱
thank you for this. straight to the point and showed everything on video instead of images.

How can I know which is the male from female flower
Not being rude but he showed you exactly how 😊
I have no females on 10 plants.
Typically the first set of flowers will all be male, you should see female flowers in the the 2nd and 3rd sets.
