Looks great bud, I really like the way you work, referencing can definitely cut down mistakes made. Loved how u cut the joinery too 🙌🙌. Subbed and looking forward to future builds 👍

Thank you very much! I figure at some point I will have to learn how to measure and scribe correctly, but for now I am just figuring out the basics 🤞 thanks for the sub 😀

Thanks mate! I did just try some actual mahogany and it definitely struggled a lot more!

Great video. Tapers, angles, solid joinery and a floating top! You really went all out for this one. And it looked great. Well done.

Thanks very much! The floating top was a last minute sub but I’m really happy with the choice - first time using ‘proper’ joinery as well, some mistakes but good to learn from them for the next one 😃 looking forward to seeing more of your content!

@@thornedesignco I don’t think I’ve done a project yet that hasn’t had a mistake in it. Each time we learn then push on to the next stage to try something a little bit harder that’s the fun of the project but also watching the videos to learn from others.
I think it will be the new year before I get another one out, the real world and Christmas is getting into the way too much at the moment.

I feel you with that! Posted way less than I was hoping for, but have decided to focus on trying to make the videos as good (as is possible for me) rather than trying to get volume out!

Matching full size dining table now?

Haha it’s funny how a 15 min video cuts out 4 hours of scratching your head wondering ‘how the hell does this angle work?’ 😂 thanks very much mate - appreciate it 😃

Any ideas on the species? Sorry if I missed it in the vid, child interrupting ect :P Also, you may remember me leaving a comment about your planer, I ended up getting a used older model, instead of the titan bench top. I've seen it working, but yet to carve out the time to use it myself! Its a SIP 10" so hopefully will be good for most of my needs! You're vids are really interesting, would be happy to see more!

Hey James! It is all Sapele (I think!) the guy I got it from had no idea but I have picked some more up and it looks the same!
That is awesome about the planer - let me know how it goes! I have really managed to up my game after adding my planer to the workshop 😃
