What was causal, soil conditions or mono crop with tomatoes and varieties of plants that attract them? This is why fallow year reduces theme. Planting BT types of plants actually repel them away from roots similar to BT lawn grasses that repel insects, and taste bad to grubs.
I an concerned that the ACTINOVATE would hurt the soil life which is important to fight nematodes . I grow tomatoes and squash under black plastic with drip tape and was thinking of feeding mycorrhizal fungi spores to the roots through teh drip tape . The mycorrhizal fungi are known to lure root knot nematodes into lassos and snare them then suck out their fluids and feed to the plant mineral in exchange for glucose from the plant...
What about the poison on your right? Why display it and not explain? Im so tired of half-measures, they are constant work and poor response. If i have another person recommend spritzing soap water on my 1000square feet im gonna have a conniption fit. PLEASE, anyone, i need deliberate information.
Yup, the gardening world is full of anecdotal info, much of which is BS. I started seeing root knot Nematodes in my garden a few years ago and they are spreading. The best info is from university Agricultural departments who partner with local farmers. In the end nothing will eradicate these guys, so we have to do multiple things to go around them. For me it's planting early season varieties that mature before the buggers get really active, then solarize the soil during highest heat of summer. Marigolds did nothing for me. I may try cover cropping with mustard next. Crop rotation is great, but for a back yard garden it isn't realistic.
Very informative video.. thank you so much
