  • Another of the small format solitaire folio games from Decision games. Part of the Raiders series. This one covering Norwegian commandos. Light solo game that's portable and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Mine as well. The book of the actual events really shows the amazing struggle it was to just survive the elements of the area. Neal Bascomb's "The Winter Fortress" is a great read.

I have this and it is a cool, quick little game that can have some surprising outcomes. Very good for travel. Will look into getting a few more of these. Thanks for the example of play.

I have owned Congo Merc and Border War for several years. They fill the role you spoke of quite well. I get them out every year or two. Decision Games gets beat up a bit by some people, but I think the Raider Series does it's job well. I've gotten my money's worth for certain.

I think for ambush you're supposed to draw a number of enemies equal to the alert level.

The fun and novelty wears out of those games very quickly. They are all very, very similar. Suez '56 or Khe Sanh are the best. The system used in those two games is good

Neither Suez nor Khe Sanh are the same serie (they belong to the Cold War Blitz series using differents set of rules).
The serie named Commando (or Raiders) contains, if I'm correct, Congo Merc, Border Wars, LRDG, Merril's Marauder, Roger's Ranger, Telemark and Lawrence of Arabia

@@ludovictiengou5014 Yeah. I know. The Commando series is meh. The Cold War Blitz series is much, much better.

Not plutonium in that area. The norway factory in Telemark produed only deuterium oxyd aka heavy water. Germany never had access to plutonium as it was only produced in the USA at the time. Strange mission then.
Lawrence seems quite different from the others game as you said it. On the other hand Telemark bears quite simillarities to the other "commando" serie (I've played LRGD, Congo and Border)

One day, probably next year I'm gonna buy a whole ton of the old S & T mag. games n some of these if they, NKG, don't have what I need.
Want to see how many I can get for my $149 free shipping level. Est. 7-9. But need to try n finish finding all the Fire & Movement issues I missing. Got 1-99 and a few 1--'s.

*Suez '56* is another good one, different system, though.
