Ingredients
Seafood:
Fresh fish (catfish or tilapia)
Prawns or shrimp
Crayfish
Other shellfish (optional)
Base:
1 cup of palm oil
1 large onion (sliced)

2-3 fresh peppers (Scotch bonnet or habanero, chopped)
1 tablespoon ground crayfish
1 tablespoon ground pepper (adjust to taste)
2-3 cups of water (or fish stock)
Seasoning:
2-3 seasoning cubes
Salt to taste
uziza seeds
Fresh herbs (UZIZA leaf )
Instructions
1. Prepare the Seafood:
Clean and cut the fish into pieces. If using shellfish, ensure they are cleaned and deveined.
2.Heat the Oil:
In a large pot, heat the palm oil. Be careful not to overheat it.
4. Add Water/Stock:
Pour in the water or fish stock, and bring to a simmer.
5. Season:
Add ground crayfish, ground pepper, seasoning cubes, and salt. Stir well to combine.
6. Add Seafood:
Gently add the fish and prawns. Allow to simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the seafood is cooked through.
7. Finish with Herbs:
Stir in fresh herbs just before serving for added flavor.
8. Serve:
Enjoy your fisherman soup with rice, yam, plantains or swallows!
