I just got my first PS4 (used) a week ago but it is louder than I expected. I've been looking around and it seems a cleaning is the only way to resolve the issue. After watching several videos I realized mine was a different model and I'll be following this guide later when I tear this down in my workshop.
Good luck, take your time, be careful with the power supply connectors. I'd recommend MX4 thermal paste or thermal grizzly
I am also going to replace the thermal pads, how should I cut them To size?
Thermal pads can be cut with scissors. You can cut the the exact size of the the original or the size of the ram chips

Hey i cleaned my ps4 and replace thermal paste but im still getting the ps4 overheating and then switched off help me
If your fan is running loud you might have a clogged heatsink or the thermal paste might not be enough or not a good quality.
Be sure the heatsink is cleaned out
@@TechCommanderRepairs i think I figured it out before all that happen my fan was loud asf now its quiet anf the prob started i cleaned everything the heat sink isnt dirty soo i guess its the fan it moving lil slow
@jahjahf3243 as long as the fan is spinning it should be good. What thermal paste did you use?
Be sure the clamp is on there properly as well

@jahjahf3243 yeah that's good thermal paste. If the fan is spinning smooth and free, heatsinknis clear, new thermal paste applied, thermal pads in place on the ram, you technically should be fine.
