- Here is a compilation of all the beautiful steam whistles I heard in while railfanning 2019! From the rolling winter hills at Strasburg with CN 89, to the farmlands in Hunterdon County with BR&W 60, to the sweltering summers heat with Valley 3025, back to the hills at Strasburg with 475 & 611, and lastly over the mountains of Pennsylvania with 425, I hope you enjoy the selection of whistles!

Which whistle do you guys enjoy the most? Some of mine are 425's CNJ, 40's SP 6, and 630's CofG 6. Honestly i just like all of them.
611, 4501, 60, ahhjkdgdmghgd theyre so good
Great compilation video keep it up I look forward to part 3 also I love all of them too especially the N&W whistles the 475 and 611 have. I love all the whistles that the 425 wears and I like the whistles for new hope and ivyland 40 but I pretty much like all of them.

@@blackpanther1013 I bought a cab ticket, thats how i got the ride. And I got to blow the whistle by simply asking.

I feel like I must have been a train conductor in my past life, as since I was a child hearing these old steam whistles drew me and and made me feel happy.

7:12 I got to drive 3025 for the "Hands On the Throttle" program as an early high school graduation present in April, 2019. One of the best experiences of my life.
Id love to do that program someday. Sounds amazing.

I'd have to say my favorite whistle is Norfolk and western 611.
I think that is pretty cool too
The Hancock 3-chime as a whole never gets old.
The bell at 5:18 looks as almost as if it could do a complete flip.

Can you just imagine the sounds of whistles/bells 80-100 years ago in cities/towns with railroads on almost every block? Or did they have NO WHISTLE ZONES back then? LoL

I know that steam locomotives weren't allowed to travel through NY City so maybe it's the same way for any city. There is a set of tracks near where I live. I wish I could hear the beautiful song of a train whistle come from the tracks but all I hear is Diesel horns.

Same here. There’s just something about that old Princeton 3 chime that makes it a perfect steam locomotive whistle

Im more a fan of the 8 inch but the 12 inch is awesome too!
Huge fan of her 12”. Got to operate her in October and that whistle was fun to play with.

De Kuforiji I purchased a ticket when 611 was at Strasburg. They are doing in cab experiences again. I just purchased a ticket to operate GW #90 in August if this year

Idrk if id want it to stay on forever but it is definitely one of my favorites
Just hearing them brings back good memories when I was growing up and I would go see them with my family when they came through Jasper Alabama. They also remind me of my dad who loved trains he had all the miniature trains and tracks.
3:25. The echo of the whistle being so distinct and delayed. Absolutely incredible sound
Must be one of the best feelings to pull that whistle and hear it blare and watch it thunder down the tracks! These steam trains can go over 100mph! The big express ones

Polar express is the Pere maquette 1225, it even has train rides near Christmas (I think the polar express book’s locomotive was 1225 because that’s the date of Christmas)

Best is the Reading 6 chime on the 90. The Southern 4501 is very nice.
Personally Train Chamber I loved hearing the SOUTHERN#630's melodic steamwhistle chime sweet music to my ears again as I have enjoyed it before riding behind it at TVRR in Chattanooga June 7, 2016! I lovr it's tenor chime! But I also have to agree with you as I loved rach and every whistle and your favorites as well! I say:"WELL-DONE, Mister!"

3:55, my favorite whistle
I actually helped install that GTW 6 Chime on BR&W #60. A good friend of mine owns and it sounded awesome in person.

Mine is either 89's 3 chime heard at the beginning of the video, or 425's B&O 3 chime, or 113 with that PRR 3 chime. I love 2 chimes and 3 chimes, they're just so majestic.

13:21 I absolutely love that Southern Pacific 6 chime. I sure wish the 4449 had that whistle. if I had to pick a Reading Blue Mountain & Northern 425 whistle, it would be 11:12 I love how that one sounds.

At video clip 2:24, I have to admit it, even though I love it when 630 wore the Crosby 3 chime, that CoG 6 chime whistle actually doesn’t sound as bad as I thought.

i swear i have to have been a train driver in my past life bc my childhood home was a old railway station and whenever i heard a steam whistle (which is rare in the middle of finland) i absolutely loved it

My favorite is the reading 6 scheme on SRC 90
11:12 and 16:15 were really striking to me.
I kinda wanna hear 611 with a different whistle. Maybe a B&O six chime, or an N&W Hooter to really shriek like 1218.

I don’t really like that 12 inch hooter on 475. I’d prefer the 8 inch hooter because in my opinion, I think it suits the engine better!
I prefer the 8 inch by far but i dont dislike the 12

From what I heard 3025 at Essex is a New Haven 6 Chime
I think 97 has the New New Haven 6, and 3025 has the Nathan 6. But you may be right

Why CNJ 113 had 2 diffrent whistles?
the day of flying scotsman in york railway will opening in 6.30 the sheds can open in 6.50 preparing flying scotsman in 7.15 flying scotsman can find his 12 coaches at 7.35 flying scotsman comes to york at 8.00 and the journey of flying scotsman will start in 8.20 soon he came to the next station at 10.05 soon he came to the final station at 10.25 flying scotsman is going back off the coaches at 10.40 thay are going back again at 10.55 soon he came to the next station at 11.45 now hf came back to york at 12.10 flying scotsman is putting his 12 coaches in a siding at 12.45 soon the flying scotsman its going back to his shed at 13.15 the shed will close in 13.50 the york railway is closing at 14.20
When you were chasing 4501, was that on the Local or Summerville or the other big one (I forgot the last one lol)
It was the Summerville Steam Special. Not the local, as 630 was handling those trips.

@@southernkansasrailfan3746 Some of the best spots are the Tunnel and crossing the Chickamauga River. You can follow the tracks on google earth/maps from Grand junction to see where they are. The bridge can be accessed from Grand Junction itself, and the tunnel from Stephen Street.
