It's crazy to think the whistle that's been on 844 all this time is actually 4014's original whistle she wore in seevice.
So we’ve never really lost 4014.
It's back on 4014 now, I think Ed put it on 844 in 2010 or 2011, somewhere around that time.
AND NOW THE STOCK WHISTLE IS BACK ON 🤦♂️

Both the Reading 6 chime and hooter give me goosebumps cause of the echo
Same can be said for the N&W 12-inch hooter also the Baldwin Hooter on 63
9:16 that little overblow on the whistle makes it sound better tenfold
4501’s Princeton 3 chime whistle is simply a classic example of what a short bell 3 chime should sound like.
It's insane how much 425 sounds like 1361 at 13:00, specifically on her '87 training run, if not just a bit lower in pitch.
Yeah, that whistle will soon be on 1361 when she returns to steam again!
That specific PRR 3 is off a K4.
i love how Great Western #90 was chatting back and forth with another engine at 5:58. so cute!!
@@skybrineplays4110 That's actually the "ghost whistle" effect. The hills in the area make it perfect for the echo of the whistle to repeat back, almost sounding like another train.

I love the little Baldwin teacup whistle, literally the same note as a GWR high tone whistle or Hunslet whistle
Today I learned that the Denver and Rio Grande Western used hooter whistles on its narrow gauge locomotives.
5:55 reading five chime is stupidly gorgeous even doing the ghost whistle it sounds awesome

I love the difference in American and British locomotive whistles. The Brits are more high pitched and sound like a polite "Pardon me" vs ours that sound like an angry "MOVE YOU MORONS IM COMIN THROUGH"

I think 401’s SR 3 chime is most likely a Lenoir City cast variant. The Lenoir City cast SR 3 chime has slightly deeper tones than the standard SR 3 chime.
Need a new sample for AT&SF 2926. Rizzoli Locomotive Works rebuilt her Santa Fe 6 Chime better than new and it sounds fantastic!

That nathan 6 chime sounds like southern Pacific 2472

275’s whistle is actually a Lonergan 4 inch 3 chime, not a buckeye. Used be a buckeye, but they swapped it.

I did not see the Pere Marquette 1225 and that is an American steam locomotive.
Two reasons:
A. I've never documented the locomotive
B. I don't like the locomotive in general so I have zero intentions of documenting it.
At three minutes and 49 seconds you swear it’s the 1218!
