  • Today we are making a wall platter with a blue monochromatic color scheme. This piece is put together using a technique called "Incalmo" in which we take small cups of colored glass ands tack them to make bands of color.
Thank you so much for watching our video, I hope you enjoyed the process.

Oddly enough watching this brought back a childhood memory of when my family went on camping trips. I would ask one of my uncles for his empty beer bottle then I would find just the perfect stick that would barely fit inside the opening. I would roll it in the embers of our campfire until the moisture inside the stick expanded the bottle into an irregular shape then I’d place it on the edge of the fire to cool. Sometimes the bottle stayed intact sometimes they would crack though and I remember my grandfather sharing my joy or disappointment for whichever it did. I was in my single digits so everything took on a greater sense of importance. Funny how something like this can tap into core memories like that! Well done guys and thanks for the memories! 😉❤️

Alan Fox in Western Australia made me an incalmo platter of blue, pink and GOLD flecks.
    Wow.
    Love your techniques.

The finished product is stunningly simple. Watching the creation was fascinating. The precision with which you two work is amazing. It is apparent that you have spent many hours working together.

I can tell you are experts, even though I know nothing about glass blowing. How can I tell? Because you make it look easy. And I KNOW it ain't easy! Thanks for sharing this video.

Since we don't know what the circumstances are, we shouldn't judge.

Why it is a problem if he is paying attention to his job well enough to have no trouble do it as needed?

@@LaYarddog And he is doing his work without any issues (as we can judge so far). And some people by some strange reason just want to make life of workers more miserable - “I’m paying you to work, not sit” for cashiers, for example.
To me it is simple - if some activity interferes with job done, then yes - employers can tell workers to not do it during work time. If worker does his job perfectly fine - what is the problem besides “I don’t like it”?
