Hey tom, what bipod is that? accu tac what?, what would you recommend that or an atlas psr?
That is a custom Accu-Tac that they don't sell. I call it the "TC-5" (Tomcat-5). That being said, I'd have to recommend the PSR since you can actually buy it. I have a series planned for the near future that should show which brand does a better job.
Thank you for the simple and easy cleaning method Mr Tom Cat.
Good explaination ! just a little hint about the problem of potential oil in transfert port. To avoid this, of course you need to not add too much oil when cleaning but in addition to this, simply turn your gun upside down when cleaning it :-)
I've been using this method for a couple of years. If the barrel is really dirty, I run the fishing line through the hole in a VFG felt pellet before inserting the cloth patch. The patch keeps the felt pellet on the line as it's being pulled through the barrel. I use an eye dropper to add a few drops of Ballistol.
Bro this is genius thank you
What number of fishing line is best for the job?
Love the hat Tomcat!
Looks like a good plan. Thanks
There has been a big debate for years about wither to clean or not to clean an air rifle barrel, Once its broken in leave it alone or you have to break it in again. What do you say, Mr. T.A?
It depends on the rifle. I've heard of guys that do a quick clean every 50 shots, I've heard 1000 shots, I've heard never. It's really a matter of experimenting and finding out what your rifle likes.
Fair enough I heard many experts say the same thing. Even the same model rifle could have its own personality on how it shoots and when it needs to be cleaned if that. That is how I clean my Gauntlet about every 300 to 500 shots cheap and effective.
I find that my favorite gun seems to shoot better if I clean it after I run a thousand or so pellets through it...or maybe it's simply psychological.
Is it ok to use wd40 instead of ballistol as the cleaning solvent?
I wouldn't. Too much risk.
Silly question please show the way you put the patch on the fishing line...
Fold the patch in half and stick it in the crease. It's not attached at all.
Thank you man for a great idea :)
What's the scope you have on the gun?
I think that was an Aztec scope back then. I run Hawke Optics now.
@@Atoyota25 I looking for one for a Gamo Swrm magnum gen 2 177 cal, does that scope have mildot
@@ricksmith8581 I mentioned 2 scopes so, I'm not sure which one you're referring to. This was 3 years ago. I don't think the Aztec had mil "dots". I know Hawke has mil dot reticle options on many of their scopes.
@@Atoyota25 yes sir, Thank You for taking time to reply to an old guy, have a good weekend,.
what test is that fishing line tho?
lol.... I have no idea!
If you're asking the question seriously, I would gauge the test strength to your own arm strength while pulling a patch through a bore. If you can't pull it, you're patch might be too big.
@@Atoyota25 well what pound line did you use in your video is what im asking if your didnt understand my question im sorry theres multiple different rating for fishing line which did you use 10lb 20lb etc?
@@209chevymon I understand you question. I honestly don't know. The line I used was from a spool that was given to me. I'll try to find it and let you know. But, it's been a while since I used this method. Now, I use the Patchworm system almost exclusively.
@@Atoyota25 ok thanks that would be great also thanks for the replies might help to have it in the description for the future imo
Tried everything and came to realized the/my best is www.patchworm.com/ after some 50 years of AG.
Like all systems it can be problematic and I've made custom bottoms to fit some bores.
Don't know if ever try it out before but give it a go ...... I'd even spot you a kit for free if u contact me. ~ Greg
