Helloooooo all you beautiful people! It looks like you guys are really enjoying this DIY, so if any of you want to share your re-creations with me through the hashtag #SharonBeMakinStuff on Twitter/Instagram, that would be fantastical. I would looove to see them!! (ノ・∀・)ノ
I absolutely LOVE that you showed us your mistake. There are some DIYs that end up super perfect that you don't even want to try because you're intimidated. But thank you for that, you're super talented and I can't wait to try this!!! :)
I can't reply to some of your guys' comments because you haven't enabled it on your Google+ account! So make sure to do that then I can reply to your questions!! :)
latergottabeaskater thank you! I found the image online and then cut it out. I have like a picture tutorial of it on my Instagram so you can check it out there. link is in my profile!
Yes! This is the best! I'm gonna make something like this for my boyfriend for our 3 year anniversary! Thank you so much lol i literally had no clue what to make him! This is perfect!
This is actually SO helpful, detailed, good quality tutorial. Excellent work, congratulations! I cannot stress how heplful this was. Some tutorials just don't explain each little step as thoroughly as you did.
IT LOOKS SO COOL!!! a little paint sipped through some of the letters made it more rustic and natural looking. little imperfections can make some things more awesome. :)
Hi there! Liked your tutorial so much that I subscribed and added your youtube link to Pinterest! I'm a DIYer myself so I like seeing tutorials with down-to-earth people that show their outcomes, mistake and all because I know I will be making some of my own along the way too! Thank you for posting this :)
You are talented and ADORABLE! And, of course, helpful. I have been trying to figure out how to do one for my sister. It's been years since I said I would do it. Four back surgeries later, I'm feeling good enough to do it and this was SUPER helpful to me! Thanks! I subscribed!
Hey Cynthia! Thanks for the sweet comments. I'm happy that you recovered well and I'm glad my video was helpful to you! Hopefully the project works out well for ya! Good luck! ☺️
i love this tutorial soooo much!! i have wanted to buy one of those pictures from like homesense but they are pretty expensive and now i can make my own!! thanks and yours looks great!!
just like to tell u that ur videos inspired me to make my own and it turned out amazing i also found this revlon ad in a magazine that only said "are you expressionist. can you express the power of you?" i my fav color, so i took a canvas, spray painted it to purple, mod podge the magazine and put another layer of mod podge over it. Turned out like a professional one. thank you for the ideas, keep making stuff!
WOW!! Excellent video with great explanations. You have a great personality that inspires. I liked your idea of saving $$'s by printing gray instead of solid black. THANKS, dave ........ ps: I personally liked the "bleed-through"
You can cut your time in to a fraction of how long she takes by using stickers. It's way easier and a LOT less hassle. It turns out identical and less math.
I LOVE it! And if I ever do this (which I plan on doing), I'm gonna leave the paint that bleed through, since it gives this 'look' that I like. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE IDEA!
I really, really like this idea! However, I would use the gray letters you printed out to cut out the scrapbook paper instead, then place them down with maybe spray mount or the Modge Podge after you painted the canvas black. That way, you'd save some bits of that really beautiful paper, the lines on your letters would be much cleaner, and you wouldn't get that awkward crease down the vertical and across the horizontal middles. If you wanted to get that really cool half-and-half effect, you could gently tape the four pieces of scrapbook paper together, trace the letters on them lightly, then cut them out with your razor blade/scissors. (P.S. I don't think that printing the letters in gray saves printer ink, I think it uses MORE because to make gray the printer mixes Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow to make white to mix with the black. It's easier to just print outlines of the letters instead, or just go straight black. Just a friendly tip from a graphic designer who prints stuff regularly. :3)
You could've just not post the video and redo it but you still make it work w/out getting frostred it I admired that. I hope you can do a tutorial about that canvas for you brother please! You are such a sweet sister. GREAT JOB
Thank you so much for this idea! Its so cute and so simple. I made my own with a little spin on it, and put a quote from The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and I absolutely love it. SharonBeMakinStuff
You can also use a Cricut to cut letters in seconds . Good investment if anyone does this for a living . Also, using by all lettering will help tons to avoid letters coming up while painting . I use very plain cheep wall paper instead of expensive paper from craft store 👍🏼
The top coat gives the canvas a finished look because it's glossy and it seals everything in. If you leave it as it is, it'll be matte and yes it probably won't last as long!
BTW the bleed thru looks AWeSOMe!! Thats what art is, organic, imperfectly perfect creative, flowy and FUN!
Personally, I love that you showed your "mistake"! Thanks for keeping it real!

Your beautiful 😘😘
love ur vids soo much im using them 4 my new room tank u
I'm doing one of these for my friend's birthday and I used her favourite quote, 'Life is a path full of efforts.' :)
i think the gray color that shows a little in the letters adds to the design! looks more industrial, like it!
I absolutely LOVE that you showed us your mistake. There are some DIYs that end up super perfect that you don't even want to try because you're intimidated. But thank you for that, you're super talented and I can't wait to try this!!! :)
Melida Garza thank you! we're all learning together anyway right? hope it turns out well for you! ((:
Thank you so much 😊 I have seen so many videos of different arts and crafts but nobody explains like how you’re doing! Thank you so much again!
I actually liked the smudges because it shows nobody is perfect and everybody makes mistakes and also, it looks ancient and old which is really cool
great point. thanks annie!
I couldnt agree more. Theres just something about the unperfect edges I really like. Gives it character
That was a MINDBLOWING canvas art !?!?!!!?!!!
Tysm for sharing
Love this idea! Def plan to make it! Also I'm so glad that u put the supplies down below wish everyone did that.
I can't reply to some of your guys' comments because you haven't enabled it on your Google+ account! So make sure to do that then I can reply to your questions!! :)

Optimus Princeps

Yes! This is the best! I'm gonna make something like this for my boyfriend for our 3 year anniversary! Thank you so much lol i literally had no clue what to make him! This is perfect!

I have never tried it with spray paint but I'm sure it will work as well and you'll most likely have cleaner edges around the letters!

thanks! yeah a lot of people have been suggesting that and you can totally do that too!
This is gorgeous! Would be perfect for my tumblr// vintage theme room, beautiful!
sounds like a pretty awesome room
I can't wait to try this. Thank you so much!
I love the tutorial! I've never used Mod Podge. I just attempted my first project with your video as help. It's drying right now. Fingers crossed!
I love the Latin quote! Great DIY!
I like it with the bled through paint
Why am I only finding you now??? Awesome canvas arts!!!
you can use regular glue to glue down the scrapbook paper and then finish it off with a clear coat spray to seal everything in!
I've been wondering how to make a sign like this! Great video and I hope to make one soon using song lyrics :-)
I love your personality!!!! And I was going to purchase quotes on amazon, then I saw your video ! Soooooo creative. :) Thank you!
I think it looks great! Hey - we all make mistakes. That's how we learn! I like the "bleeding" look. It looks more homemade. But it looks really good.
Thx so much, this is really helpful, please keep making viedos like this

WONDERFUL IDEA!!
Love this! And don't worry I would have probably done the same thing with the gray but have been to lazy to go back with the black so YAYA go you!
You are too funny! You have far more patience than I do. The grey one would have just gone in the trash. LOL
HAHAH I've expended too much effort to quit halfway. 😂
GREAT IDEA with the painter's tape!
just like to tell u that ur videos inspired me to make my own and it turned out amazing

David Keenan Thank you for the kind words, David! But just a heads up, printing the outline would be an even better idea!
